This is by far one of the best image processing tutorials I've ever seen. Excellent presentation with a balanced mix of theory and application in a clear logical way. Thank you for sharing your methods.
I appreciate you releasing your technique. I have been "ham-fisting" my processing for the past couple of years and just needed a different path. I use an OSC with an L-Enhance and hadn't been separating my data, essentially giving me a mediocre final image. I appreciate this particular video and the subsequent videos for their specific content. I can only imagine you as a secondary or post secondary teacher/professor. Your lessons are well presented, based in your theory and relatable. Thanks so much!!
Great Informative Video Ed!! Love The Slide show Presentation and Explanation!! One of The Best Videos of Narrowband Processing!! Nice Theory!! Some Real Science 👨🔬!
For my learning style, I feel incredibly fortunate to have gotten to your theory video. I guess it pays to read the descriptions because "the algorithm" wasn't bubbling it for me. I had deduced things from your process videos, but it's great to have the confirmation. Math, physics, and color theory?! I appreciate your Renaissance approach to astrophotography. Thank you for sharing your learnings!
WOW!! ...What a great kick-off Ed. You've really laid a well tought-out foundation; I can't wait to see the rest of your presentation. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!!
G’day Ed This is a excellent tutorial mate. Extremely informative & detailed. I’m looking forward to your next installments as I’m very interested trying to follow your workflows Cheers as always & thank you 😀
Ed I have been using your methods including Starnet for all my colour images based on your last tutorials, and I can't wait for your next videos to come out. I would also like to see how you process narrowband images at some stage if possible. Your tutorials are outstanding, please keep them coming!
What a huge amount of information. That's so interesting and so many new thoughts and specifications. Thanks a million. You presented and transported that so good. Are you a teacher of some sort? Great stuff. I have to dig deeper into it.
Hey Gnasher, thanks! I have taught college part time while working my day job before. Thanks for your comment! More to come, so stay tuned! Clear skies!
I’ve been using an adaptation of your process for my OSC + filter images, including noise reduction on a per channel basis. It’s resulted in much better images overall. Looking forward to seeing how you bring it all together.
AstroEd's rule of superposition makes a lot of sense to me. Can't wait to see how you recombine your data using your split-complementary techniques Ed, great stuff! PS: Are you using a color camera and one narrowband filter? You refer to separating into different channels...so I assume you first use a single stack and then separate the colors? Clear skies!
Thanks, Wido! Yes I use the asi 294 mc pro with the 2” triad ultra filter. So yes, I use a single stack then separate the channels. Thanks for watching and for dropping a comment! Clear skies!
