There is a reason for it. The pad is just too small for it to be actually useful. Especially if you want to spend long drawing sessions. You are better of buying a 100 dollar Wacom bamboo/One or w.e its called now for portable drawing.

sadly, when they say "art" I don't think they mean drawing but instead they mean vfx, so it would'nt be helpful if ur not into 3d art :(

Seriously. I use the entire AutoDesk Design Suite and would love to know how this works with them. So frustrating.

The graphics card architecture is quite different for regular RTX gaming based and for Quadro. I'm not sure if you have checked the Razer studio book with RTX Quadro 5000. it is an old 2019-2020 model. A little outdated. But it is nvidia studio certified for all the apps you mentioned. This model got a regular RTX 3070 graphics card with nvidia studio based driver. I don't know how would they even justify the performance with this combo.

Notebookcheck's review of the Intel + Quadro model called "StudioBook Pro 16" is probably your best shot.

@@wheeler6768 Also own H7600 (i7-1200H , 32GB, 3080Ti) and it is not as described here. Noise was unbareable, fans reaching 5500rpm but clocks were good and high, heat is substantially felt on top side just above the keyboard. Battery is more 3h - this is OLED screen - it can sometimes go up to 4h but rarely, not when doing heavy stuff. Bios changed a lot 2007 to 3007 bios change downclocked the Intel CPU a lot, but the thermals and fan speeds are more bareable - after 'out of the box' - it was thing I wanted to return (if not georgous screen - this screen really is much better than anything that there is elswhere). Overall - I think it's over-hyped and most review are paid by a$u$. Sadly. Oh, and yes it thermall throttled and still is - after 3007 bios update - regardless of the supposedly used liquid metal, it easily jumps above 96C. Software you see, seems to have 'custom settings' but it does not have it in mine, you cannot set fan curves, like you can in gaming laptops, and presets are limited in what they can do, I needed to edit power profile and set cpu to 99% to turn off Turbo.

I can confirm that the screen DOESN'T have stylus support, it isn't even touchsensitive. But the touchpad supports up to 1024 pressure levels for use with a stylus.

Yeah it got tiring to hear for me, not like I was being yelled at, but more like tired for the presenter. It really felt like he was straining to speak loudly.

It ships with 2 variants on Ryzen 9 - 5900HX. 2k 120Hz IPS panel or 4k 60Hz OLED panel.

That's because there will be no 3070 paired with 16" 4K OLED variant. I'm not sure what the thinking is on the part of ASUS here. They have a Ryzen/3060 with 4K OLED. The Ryzen/3070 will only have a 120 HZ IPS (2560x1600) screen. The Intel one with the 3060 will have 4K OLED too, as will the variants with workstation GPU's. Maybe the B&H spec lists are wrong, but ASUS representatives haven't cleared it up fully on the Q&A.

You guys been looking into anything else just in case? I'm kinda looking for a 4k 120hz with accurate display with ether Intel 9 11th Gen. Or amd. 3070 of higher. The gigabyte aero 17 HDR seems like a good fit. But it's not 120hz. The s17 rog can't be found anywhere just like this ProArt. You guys have any laptop option ideas for this?

I think the ProArt is much superior to the M1 Pro, except for battery live. The 3070 GPU obliterates the GPU of the M1 MAX, and the OLED screen is the only valid display for serious content creation and color grading. The M1 mini LED display is still great for video editing and content comsumption but you can't really use it as a reference display, because the usage of dimming zones means that the color and luminance of each pixel depend on the content of the neighbor pixels.

@@javiej Battery life and efficiency It's a very important factor with so many vloggers on the go using laptops as their only machine. And for what I know OLED displays still suffer from inaccuracy and posterization in the shadows and Macs are often the go-to machine for creators on the go, it would be nice to see how they compare. It's not just a matter of knowing who's got it bigger.

@@m80116 OLEDs are not perfect, but for color grading they are always the preferred option when there is no reference monitor available, not mini LEDs. And having true UHD resolution 1:1 (as found in the ProArt) is critical to easily detect and evaluate noise, which in the MacBook Pro is always camouflaged by downscaling to 3K. That makes images look great for content consumption, but for content creation you need exactly the opposite, you need a display that tells you the truth so you can easily fix the problems (or let them pass if they are under acceptable thresholds). About mini LED technology, how can you adjust any level with decent accuracy if the color of one area depends on what is happening in adjacent areas? About performance, just Google render benchmarks with any computationally intensive application. After effects, Maya, Resolve, Fusion, Nuke, Blender, etc. There is no possible comparison, in this regard NVIdia plays in its own league. I don't say the M1 Pro is useless, it is a great machine for light processing and I mentioned several other qualities. It has great battery live and it is great for video editing (as long as you use Metal accelerated codecs). But the Asus ProArt is undeniable better for intensive processing and the 4K OLED is simply the best display available for professional content creation. (reference monitors apart). And I'm am not saying mine is bigger, that comment was out of place because I am only giving you technical arguments. If you can talk in the same terms I'm happy to discuss it, but if you plan to go into more fanboism then please forgive me if I don't bother to answer.

@@javiej don't OLED displays suffer from displaying colors differently at different brightness settings? Are they calibrated for a certain brightness level or is calibrated throughout the entire brightness range? Is the risk of burn-in still a factor?

Just get a gaming laptop. You'd save more money. It's more catered towards professional creative work.

i thinks its the LCD Burn-In, do you always max out your brightness?

@@wagamama36 it's brand new. Not even one day. This is apparent when it's below 50%. And having my brightness higher is just too bright for me in most cases, unless it's very bright... So I just see the left side being brighter, darker in the mid and gets better again on the right side, but not as much. Not 100% sure yet, but I think having HDR on helps a bit

that last point is the deal breaker so extremely damn expensive

@@ryanb8736 Hey, I'm a film/video editor & VFX student. I literally moved away from mac because of the price for spec (I got mine in 2017). I was looking to get the R9 ips version of the proart so I could work and do everything else on the go. I did look at macbooks but I see that to get 64gb of RAM you're locked into the top spec, meaning that for me, I wouldn't be able to afford for much storage (I like to work on board where I can for portability). As my desktop is windows I kinda wanna keep on the same OS since I now prefer that to windows. At this point I'm kinda stuck. I've looked everywhere and I only found the proart pretty ideal, (IPS because I prefer batterylife over 4k & also so I can use the laptop recreationally as well) and also because it supports 64gb ddr4 memory. The concept of the dial / stylus seems pretty useful although I'm not sure personally whether it's more a gimmick or not (I have a drawing display, so I guess it depends about context). What are your thoughts? Only other limiting factors I would say is probably software limitability on Mac OS lol. Maaaybe I could get used to the notch.. lmao I work with 4.5K & 4.6K footage and my desktop seems to handle it okay (2060, R9 3900X) - although I do have proxies made for me to toggle if it ever struggles. (Red and Blackmagic). Mainly operate in prem for video editing, and VFX its more Houdini, Maya, Nuke.

Asus as usually keeps quiet and allows competition to steal potential customers. By the time this is released half of them will get tired of waiting and will buy MacBook instead.

Nothing about iOS blows a good windows machine out of the water. I'm not sure how having an operating system thats limited in content creation apps blows anything away for content creation.

It does have 4-mic array on top of the screen, mic+line out in - it does have combo-jack.

No. check out pixel village. They did a test on the same model with Canon R5 RAW 4K in Adobe premiere. It failed to scrub even at half the resolution. The RTX studio branding for 3070 graphics is just hogwash. The only RTX studio driver based laptop is Razer studiobook with Quadro RTX 5000 graphics.

Hi, welcome 'to the hype club'. Sadly this is the case, even with ming 12700h,32GB,3080ti. Definitely install bios update 3007, it does change a lot for better, but yeah this thing will throttle, no doubt about it. Battery drain is insane due to OLED screen and CPU/GPU. Potentially this CPU can pull 110W, then 75W, and then 55W add GPU wattage and you have 20x less air volume trying to cool down chips that are almost 'the same' as desktop ones.

I don't even get this comment. I would not even think of any reason not to use its own power cable to charge the laptop, PD charging only goes 100 W, and its own power cable goes 230 W. it's just a weird decision and your being stupid. Please sell it to me, I would love to have it.

Agree, RTX 3080 has 16GB vRAM. RTX 3070 has only 8GB. But AERO is notoriously noisy. The fan kicks in at heavy load like a steam engine.

Quadro GPUs won't offer much benefit if you're mainly working with art. You'd be paying more with little to show for it.

Razer studio book got RTX version of Quadro 5000. Also Quadro RTX 5000 is not for gaming. Nvidia Studio drivers as they recommend are for content creation and for other heavy duty tasks that require more CUDA cores. Check out Pixel village. A Canon R5 4K RAW footage failed to scrub in Adobe premiere timeline at half the resolution. The guy had the same Ryzen 9 5900HX with RTX 3070. I highly doubt whether a RTX quadro 5000 will do the job. RTX 3080 and RTX 5000 Quadro both got 16GB vRAM. Canon R5 4K H.265 4.2.2 footage should be the benchmark for video editing on any new performance laptop. lol.
