I’m starting to get frustrated with Android as it only comes with 2 year major software update. Unlike IOS which guarantees 5 years update the least. Apple might be premium but android is more innovative and lots of varieties and technically speaking people that have Android spend more than IOS devices.
That side button does not feel "loose and jiggly" - unsure why free phone sample users have been saying this about it. Not to worry - they must have sorted it on the actual model. 😜
*I'm using Asus zenfone max pro M1 since 2019 no problem I faced yet and best part to keep it up for next few years is that they provide updates frequently!*
Top heavy phones are the worst. I know as I've a Asus Max Pro M1 which is my second Asus Phone. But after hearing it again here, I think I will never ever condsider an Asus phone again.
I've been watching your channel for sometime now I just can't wrap my head around the fact that you don't have AT LEAST 1 million subscribers. I love watching your videos because of your enthusiasm and it is clear that you genuinely care about your job. Thank you, you deserve so much more recognition.
Always been a fan of Zenfone. The gimmick isn't needed. Give us top DXO mark video and picture scores, stock or clean android, and 3 years of updates. Winning formula.
GadgetMatch Guy is a nice guy...not like a Techie-only nice guy...More like a "can walk the granny across the street" kinda nice guy...Doesn't hurt that his videos rock as well! Awesome stuff brother!
Thank you very much. The first time I stumbled across the channel but the review is simply amazing. Goes into almost every detail I would ever want to know about. **One more thing (just because a 100 is not enough): Could you also compare/test GPS briefly?** Just fire up GPS Status app (there are 2 in Play Store) and just kinda test/compare signal. Should take a small amount of time. Why do this? Honestly, my OnePlus 6T and 7 Pro were the very first phones I bought 100% new and almost on launch. I so wanted an OnePlus since the first OnePlus. Then I bought the 6T and went to events, Christmas fares and for some reason, I always had trouble navigating with the phone. It just threw me off multiple streets, couldn't find north direction, so on. Like it was so bad, I just gave up and used offline map + street names + compass. It was that bad. Time passed and the 7 Pro came around. LineageOS supported OnePlus phone? Pop-up camera? SIGN ME UP. And I bought one. Kinda big mistake as it had the very same issue. HORRIBLE GPS. Absolutely trash. It could not find any signal in the car, in vans, on-street, anywhere. I so wanted to love that phone. So after that, GPS review/test kinda became a big thing for me. Notebookcheck does a very brief test - but 1) they don't check every phone, understandably 2) there were some WEIRD GPS reviews by them. Like there was a phone (can't recall, maybe Mi 9? something like that) and it didn't even lock-on properly. It performed terribly during the bike/road-test. And the review said "great navigator". WHAT. How? And that phone has a horrendous GPS as well. Ps.: This GPS issue mostly plagued SD845 - SD855 era chipsets. Like most phones that had those SD chips had GPS issues. The Pixel 4a XL also has a weak - but manageable GPS for example. Sorry for the tl;dr. You earned a new sub, and it'd be great to include GPS tests. Thank you!
I also wish they come back to their roots on this. I'm hoping that they are planning to launch more of a mid-range phone here in the Philippines. Something that has SND 730G, good set of cameras and still has a 5000mah battery. The UI has improved so much along with the look and feel of their phones. Good job, Asus!
Very detailed review. You touch new aspects in using a phone that other reviewers forget. And the way you speak is so great. You are my favourite channel from first video I just watched now. Subscribed and keep up the good work.
The selfie vids you took were in FHD. Not sure why you didn't use 4K. Probably because only in FHD is when you can switch between lenses during the recording. But yeah there's a huge difference in quality between the wide and the ultra wide lenses. Another problem is that when you select the "front" camera in third party apps like IG, FB, SC, TT, etc Asus made it use the ultrawide lens but cropped. And there's no way to change it to use the main wide camera. Thus the resulting quality is bad. Asus say it's due to overheating. But you can get around this by not selecting the "front" camera and flipping the main wide camera around. Problem with this though is the image will be inverted of course. We've tried to ask Asus in the Zentalk forums to give the user a choice (along with a warning, much like how choosing to record in 8k gives you a warning about temp rises) in a firmware update. But they don't seem to want to listen to us :/
I have a samsumg Galaxy A80, it has a flip camera and a beautiful 6.7 inch screen. Once you get used to a full screen display , you cant use a screen with a camera hole in it again. Thats why im here. This will be my next phone.
@@Josh-oc7ib I expect it to not be priced the same as a phone that has a literal folding glass screen. This only swivels which is much less expensive technology than the technology needed for a folding glass screen.
Lots of praising and you will receive 1mn soon and guys please don't skip ads for this hard work . Any possibilities of this phone to be launched in India???
You should have mentioned clearly in the video that ZenFone 7 has an Always On Display but it cannot/does not show notifications yet. People want AOD mainly for app notifications, not the frivolous stuff like date and time in fancy fonts wasting battery.
Wow super indepth and helpful. Have a OP7Pro and everything is fabulous on the phone except for the cameras. There ok but issues with processing colours. Picked up a Pixel 4 XL, not 5 ... 4 . Sent it in for repair and was debating on this .. Asus Zenfone 7 Pro. Seeing you compare the Pixel to the Zen... Makes you wonder. Maybe keep the Pixel ... As long it works? Thoughts?
thanks for the review ... but could you talk about battery life in a little more detail, for example how much % battery power is consumed per night in standby mode, because some smartphones lose 2-3% and some 5-8% per night, how much per hour of playing games, when take a photo or video a lot of charge is consumed, and each phone has different indicators consumption, so it will be interesting for everyone to know how much charge is consumed in different situations by one or another smartphone.
Hi I am a dermatologist from India . Taking clear pictures of patient before and after treatment is very important to me plus a good battery life. Please suggest me Samsung s20plus exynos variant Zenphone 7 pro. Snapdragon 865 Currently using Samsung note 8
wish i can get one in the US. oneplus getting too expensive, pixel is becoming too under powered. 5g is not mature yet no point paying for it and not really using it. i loved using main camera for selfies, been doing that with a stupid mirror. this phone would definitely help
So my job kinda revolves around using the front cam to take photos/video of myself, as well as using my phone to edit and render generally too. Would you say that this would be the best choice for that given the price, or do you think it would be worth paying the extra for an s20 note ultra, s21 ultra, xiaomi mi 11 ultra etc? It feels like for my purposes this phone is basically just as good, while being a huge amount cheaper and not skimping too hard in other areas. Thank you for the videos, would love your thoughts! 😊💜
Tho it Will no be coming here in the Phil. SAD! but i still like your review very detail and nothing to ask more, the no. 1 gadget reviewer for me ( specialy your diction) luv it bro. Hey, just wanna know if you dont mind, are you a Filipino or any root of Filipino Cuture?
One thing about asus is the lack of accessories choices like good tempered glass. I have the asus 5z and I'm not able to find a glass that can cover it fully.
i have been searching phone with design like this since 4-5 years ago and only asus manufacture it... but too bad for that ultra wide camera, if only the quality is the same with the main camera, i will definitely buy this phone... because i need a good video quality ultra wide camera for vlogging... so far no other smartphone front camera has quality as good as their back camera... only huawei front camera this year that can shoot ultra wide, but the quality is also not very good...
the only minus is that is not water proof imho , oneplus lacks the ip68 certif but it actually is water proof , it just doesn't have the certification!
Hi good review i like so much, which one have better photo quality oneplus 8 pro or zenfone 7 pro. I think imx 686 is a good camera senor, it is worth go for oneplus 8 pro that use imx 689? . Thanks and regards.
Best Flip camera mobile but .... Asus claimed beautiful capture from auto panorama camera in zenfone 6z. However, moving objects were not captured. Now 7 and 7 Pro have this problem or not?
I wish Asus made a version of the Zenfone 7 with a 732G Snapdragon. The camera setup is the best out there. I just don't need the power of a Snapdragon 865. Edit: Just found out about the MediaTek Dimensity 720. I think that would be the best SOC since it seems to be more power efficient.
I have a pixel 4 xl. do you think there is a phone out there, so much better at the camera department than the one I have?would you recommend anything profoundly better?I did consider getting asus zenfone 7 pro and would use the gcam for better results than the pixel.
Biggest failure is the Asus' logistic. All the reviews and talks but no where to buy it. When it becomes available later (amazon? third party seller) there's already better phones released.
@Daniyeroo can’t trust a reseller. Even a 0.1% defect rate means thousands of units may have issue. Say your phone has issue after 6 months. Good luck getting any service from reseller.
@@hansenluu they have warranty. Expenses paid. Don't know why people are so afraid or misinformation by local companies. Prob don't want to lose out on local customers since grey imports are much cheaper.
