We dive into the ASV-pro stick and go over how it performs with guest appearances from influencers in the industry. Unfortunately my mic went down during filming so i did my best with the audio.
Dude, easily one of your best and funniest videos yet! You had me rolling. One of those references has me super annoyed every time I see him. Lol. Thank you’ve inspired me to go into my garage and shoot one puck into my net with an old wood Sherwood 5030 and say that it feels just the same as my FT5. End of review.
Hey Justin, great video as usual! Really enjoyed this one. First of all; huge congratulations on the 2K subs! That's pretty impressive. I also noticed that it seems like the video quality got better. Might want to look at investing in a mic for the camera you're using. Lastly, is it me or does that stick seem a tad too short for you? I think you should try putting a stick extension and maybe see if it might improve your performance a bit better. Keep up the fantastic work!
Hey Owen! Thanks as always for the support. Yeah it was gonna be amazing and then to learn my mic craped out was disappointing. It’s only an inch different I usually cut the 75 flex down a tad more to stiffen up the load a bit. I use longer ones for 85s. Yeah after this mic crap out I’m gonna invest in some solid hardware!
Justin, another great video...again just want to point out how great your reviews are. I usually check out your reviews first to get an idea of what sticks to have my kids try out and 100% of the time they'll pick a stick in your top 5 (I will throw in a Sling or Hyperlite just to test out the theory). Their current top 3 are the FT5, TMP Pro and the Sync . Finally, loved your friendly poke at the other "Tutorial" reviews. I will watch their videos but only to get a good laugh at how bad they are compared to yours. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks Mike comments like yours keep me going. I’m glad I help. I also watch hockey tutorial for fun not much for information. I plan on addressing my frustration with these review channels in the future. Stay tuned ;)
Love the jokes you make of influencers they r hilarious 😄 I have been using my GoPro for hockey in play footage. It's handy simce you can install it on your helmet. Could be useful in your videos also, you could give in game footage and do a voice over so we could listen to the review while viewing first person footage. Also the gopro editor software is quite easy to use and adjusting colors is easy.
Thanks glad you liked it. Unfortunately my main league doesn’t allow go pro on helmets. I could for some drop in etc but without my main league don’t really want to invest in it. However I’m currently working on having someone at games I want to use for better footage than crappy live barn.
Just checked the first minutes and definite agree on the “3 shot it’s awesome, definitely going to use it forever” so-called influencer-bs. I’m calling out Hockey Hustler etc. on this on.
Thank you. I would have to find off sideline swap or something as stx doesn’t ship to Canada so never really tried. I really wanted to try a halo when it came out but just couldn’t make it work.
Justin, why is the CCM Trigger 7 Pro not on the list anymore? Have been using it for some weeks now and it’s growing on me with the more direct blade compared to the FT5 Pro.
Yeah my bad I used an old tear list like a dumbass and didn’t notice. I’m a trigger fan as well the 7 is great for my no slappers league. I’m gonna release a tier list video and I’ll do a full update in 2-3 weeks
It’s the shaft shape according to the ccm product manager it was designed to allow flex in a different way for wrist shots. But honestly don’t see it. The stick still does what it does but I don’t see any changes or improvements in that regard. Middle of the shaft kind of bulges out a bit and is shaped like a V then returns to normal as it gets to 3/4 bottom of the stick
hey I was wondering if I could get your opinion on this situation. I've recently saved enough money to buy a high end pair of skates but after watching a ton of videos on the skates I want and, I really need a second opinion so the issue is that I've been taking skating seriously for 2-3 years now and only played in recreational leagues but hoping to be playing in midget next year or so and what I'm wondering is it worth spending the money. also keep up the good work on the videos I bought a ag5nt because of your review and I can say its one of my favorite sticks
Nice work! Hope you crush it! Appreciate the feedback. WhT skates are you looking at? Me personally stick and skates ( I have a video on it ) is most important to spend money on, top end skates will be night and day. I keep going back to my hyperlites but it will come down to fit if you go top end true, ccm, Bauer. I recomend going to a really good store and ask to try every model top end. Walk around Ben forward side ways and really feel the skate, one will feel the best
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews it’s a toss up between the hyperlites or the ft4 pros I tried on the hyperlites but not the pros yet so I haven’t gotten a good comparison between the two but the hyperlites are the best feeling skates I’ve gotten to try on and it’s got all the features that I want and more but I just hope that I’m not jumping the gun but I trust your word and I’ll go check out all the top end skates to see if there’s anything that can outmatch the hyperlites
@@kar98loser17 the hyperlite is an amazing skate but so is the Mach and it didn’t work for me: So it’s super important to try em on make Sure it feels right.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews well thank you for taking the time to comment and I’ll update you on what I end up getting in the future till then keep up the good work
Great video loved it! I will definitely be picking this up I’m 13 125lb should I get it in a 55 or a 65 flex so it lasts me a bit longer? I’m also 5,4 Keep it up! 👍
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews Thanks so much for the quick reply! Will get that one! Also I’m a drag toe shooter using a P29 I’m wanting but more toe for better drag should I try it I know you love it!?
Where is the warrior novium stick review? I'm thinking of buying it once my stick breaks so would be good to see your opinion on it so see if it's worth it.
The novium is so hard to get in my specs the one I had was a max height blade p29 89 flex and it was awful. Retesting with my curve and a 75 flex so it’s more objective. Soon sorry
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews Ok, thanks for the quick reply, in finland warrior sticks are very popular and plenty, but where you live I guess not so much. Also I don't think the sound quality is that bad.
@@AlanenJ yeah I struggled to find my specs here makes me nuts because I love the Lxpro as well and just can’t find any’ I’ll hopefully finish up testing soon
The hockey tutorial impression was hilarious. We need normal mid kick sticks to come back. These stick companies are doing too much with there mid kick sticks. Low and hybrid kick point sticks are excelling while mid kicks sticks are being left behind with there stupid ideas on new technology and shaft dimensions
I’ll google it but generally those smaller brands are not competing well. The other issue is I don’t get requests for that stuff much so it’s out of pocket and I don’t want to be a view chaser but in end there needs to be some success and merrit to do any of of gear . I appreciate the suggestion
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews ya that’s fair, maybe if ur going through a dry spout it could be a good video but I understand, just saw this brand on TikTok talking up a storm about being the best brand with a 350 gram stick that’s the most durable and highest performing stick out there, while bashing every other brand
Not sure what moog is. The 4 was a really slow release. Great stick though for pure power loved it. The 5 is much different and weirdly slow too. Especially compared to the trigger.
hockey influencers basicly say all the tech and good stuff while ignoring the bad stuff, im using fbv skate runners and they are very sensitive to the ice type, but makes skating so much easier
Great question I have a durability video coming. Neither lol they both top end sticks and will only last so long. They are pretty even. The top durable stick that is “top teir” is the tMP pro.
Ah shit thanks updated an old one. Thanks for catching that. I’ll update but now for this vid I’ll leave it. It’s in the agent video it’s rating it’s top 3
450 grams for 170$? Far better sticks available in that price range. Many companies are bringing 375 gram brands that are around that price. Or it’s better to find a top end stick on sale. I saw 180-200$ sticks that were all the top ends from last few years on clearence this week at various stores that would be much better choice
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews Lighter doesn't always equal better. 75 grams is about the weight of your average baby mandarin orange. I doubt that amount of weight makes or breaks your game. Plenty of benefits to using a heavier stick as well. Your putting more stick into the puck on your shot and going to have more force when defending with your stick.
@@hawk12983 surpringly it does. I can’t use sticks that “heavy” due to various reasons one being Usually heavier sticks feel laboured in their release and load. As mentioned there are much better sticks and deals available for the price that have tried and true performance. Just better to go that route. I could grab prostocks, prostock.com, there was sticks at my local store for 180$ trigger 4, nexus geos all sorts of top end stuff from last 1-2 years. If I was in that budget range
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews you could probably shave off another 30-40 grams by not adding a knob too or taping your stick. Also pop that little cap off the top as that adds a few extra grams you don't need.
@@hawk12983 yeah I mean you could but just don’t see why with others avaible. The best “budget” sticks are prostock sticks.com most others I’ve tested do not feel great.
@@jeffbuchanan6545 what budget? Would go trigger 6 pro if you’re budget is higher. Flylite durability again there. But you mentioned ultrasonic does kick point matter? There’s so many options so unsure what your exactly looking for and what’s available in your area.
Budget is probably around $200...as far as shot goes im more of a wrist / snap shot kind of shooter...I like trying different sticks and so far I've found the as4 pro let's them fly the best but now I wanna try something different
@@jeffbuchanan6545 going away from as4 pro will probably be a let down stick is solid. Esecpsilly flylite and those types of sticks, hard to recommend something better than that!
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews wow that’s awesome. I love the effort towards making sure it’s a good vid and that you’re using a stick that you’re comfortable with
@@maximbauchet8681 yeah I had p29 85 flex and just wasn’t feeling it. I need a p28 and lately with my wrists I’m using 75 so unfortunately need to ensure I have specs I like to make sure I’m being objective
lol I had this 6'3 D man on my team for about 3 seasons and he was rocking the AS4 it was almost like the parting of the red sea when he shot a slapshot
If your content was so good in comparison to the competition, you wouldn't need to bring others down. The more content the better imo. If the other channels did exactly what you did, particularly HT, you would lose your viewership, given the difference in production quality. Live and let live.
Taking a joke is definitely a challenge for some people. First my content is better, I actually review things unbiasedly. They have a fancy camera and have “quality video” I wish their Reviews were as quality. Second HT has 177k subs and gets views around 5k maybe on a vid. So how’s their viewership? No one seems to care the subs are all old and moved on. That doesn’t show me loyalty. The guy asked for more subs and support every video. Second putting people down is not what this is, it’s showing them that we want better from them as a larger channel for gear since they have the ability and guess what their asv-pro review was improved. I wonder… Admit it or not why did they all of a sudden change how they reviewed a stick? You know they saw this. They still however aren’t buying their own gear so they don’t care that much or can be super truthful. Where’s a bad review on a product? Ever? There isn’t. It’s all beating around the bush. “I like this better” but this is still ok bs. Finally I think you’re massively missing the point here. Other channels don’t do what I do period. I’m unbiased. I buy my own gear, I’m not a production company with video equipment, it’s just me and I do this for fun not a job. I actually provide information to help after long testing, getting durability, actual game usage like it should matter A proper beer leaguer and rec played not just 4 min on ice and shooting a vid. In the end the response I get is 99% positive because people Are sick of the garbage review that is RU-vid, so live and let live, nah these types should be better and as the viewer you should be asking for it. If you don’t give them real feedback and be honest that’s the garbage you get. Entertainment not information
Instead of trying to trash talk Tommy you should focus on your own imperfections. Like the fact that Tommy annoys you so much that you made his character part of your video. Self reflection goes a long way even when you know everything 😂
The industries terrible attempt at “reviews” and product help is all fake and provided because they get their products from companies. They won’t provide objective information and have any integrity because of it. The industry needs a shake up and needs to do better. You also seem to be in the minority as the video is overwhelming positive because everyone knows their videos are bunk and don’t give anyone actual information to help them with their purchases. I can tell you have the sense of humour of a nun since this is just fun, hopefully they do some fun satire and make things interesting instead of boring us to death.
