Roy Scheider as Frank Castle Sr. AKA The Punisher's Dad was such a badass idea. This is my favorite Punisher to date.

This movie is literally the best backstory of the Punisher. Ages before it’s time

I know its bad stuff happening, but the random guy trying to get away on a sail boat always cracks me up

I always liked the bit were castles fathers uses his last bit of strength to save his son.

I saw that movie when I was 12. Now that I'm a husband and a father I can really feel Frank's desperation at 6:00. I can't imagine a world without my family. Great, great, GREAT movie.

During the films release we were getting quality level films so this was panned and forgotten. I think part of it is due to releasing during a time when typical shoot em up action films were long dead, everyone still had fatigue. And although there are some contrivances and conveniences, along with heavy plot armor as we see here, the movie is still competently executed, filmed and even some of the writing: there some good set up here making us hate the villains and wanting to see them get their just desserts. I say all this because I miss the time we could write off films like these as "bad" compared to now how Disney/WB/Netflix etc make films. This movie is a gem i retrospect, and honestly has always been a guilty pleasure.

One of my faves, but I just noticed in this video that around the 1:50 mark when buddy is blown up by the propane tank you can clearly see the fire suit on the stunt person when they hit the ground. Looks like Mike Myers.

To be honest if anyone had done this to my family. Thought they had killed me yet I survived. I would go to the ends of the earth. Make a pact with the leader of the four horsemen, " Death" . To avenge the murder of my loved ones. Those responsible i would make sure that they paid for their crimes with their life and soul. 💪🏼🙏🏻✨

Tom Jane is an amazing man and actor, loved him ever since Todd Parker in Boogie Nights 1997. My favorite movie with him is either Dreamcatcher 2003 or The Punisher 2004. He is just so genuine and down to earth and does some of his own stunts. What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man. The emotion he brings to the click of the shotgun at the bad guys is the power he brought to the end of The Mist 2007. He is the man.

Thomas Jane is the only man truly worthy of being the Punisher as he was initially written.

Useless trivia moment: The actress (Samantha Mathis) playing Frank's wife is the daughter of the late Bibi Besch who played Dr. Carol Marcus in "Star Trek 2" & the farmer's wife in the 80's Nuclear War drama - "The Day After".

I really thought Thomas Jane’s career would take off & he would eventually become an A-List star.. He’s got a lot of potential and he was already at this point of his career where he’s actually heading there.. I’m not sure what happened why his career suddenly stopped..

Why would you run down a narrow boardwalk, with a truck barreling down after you … and not jump into the water? Did she think she was going to outrun the truck, grow wings and fly away? Not the best escape route, by any means.
