At least 10,000 people are missing in eastern Libya after a powerful storm caused 'unprecedented' flooding, destroying at least 20 per cent of the city of Derna. The death toll in Derna is now approximately 3,000, with the number expected to rise. Derna saw the most destruction when two dams - which had not been maintained for more than two decades - burst. The dams were unable to withstand the devastating floodwaters.
