Our plan had been to move forward from the Mohican Outdoor Center, but only a little way up the trail, it was apparent that Gavin’s ankle wasn’t ready to hike yet. We shuttled to a nearby hotel to rework logistics. Spoiler alert: In a few days, Gavin’s ankle will be healed enough to move forward.

I am viewing this on Father's Day, and I appreciate the father-son relationship I see between Waffle and Hawkeye. I since the anxiety Waffle is experiencing about progressing up the trail, yet patience and planning is winning. Praying when you two are together again. On a side note my friends daughter "Special K " just finished her thru-hike in under 3 months. Obviously she didn't consume the views and nature like you are sharing.
