AT Thru Hike Day 125: Brink Shelter to High Point Shelter

Today’s 19.7 mile hike culminated with passing by High Point, New Jersey’s highest point. Though I didn’t go over to the monument, I had some great views from the observation platform late in the day.

Great view of the lake and the clouds hanging low! Wow to be on new territory of the trail you never been, so sorry Hawkeye is not with to take that step, we are still praying for him and you as well! Just great views on here!! Great video!!!

High Point is beautiful, especially in the fall. Enjoyed the views of my former state of residence.

They fit okay, but I don’t think they have as much traction or protection as my North Face Ultra 112s. I’ve since been able to get another pair of those.

Great day of hiking! I am of the opinion, Hoka's are the most comfortable trail running shoe. What is your opinion on traditional hiking boots/shoes versus trail running shoes? Great scenery on this and other videos.

I am not prone to ankle issues (knock wood) so I prefer low-cut shoes. They are lighter and require less break-in time which seems to lead to fewer blisters.
