In 2018, I retired from a 29-year teaching job. That fall, I homeschooled my older son and on Feb. 24, 2019, we left Springer Mtn., GA to hike the Appalachian Trail to Maine. Unfortunately, we didn't go far enough, fast enough, and in early August we got off trail 1,325 miles to the north and just inside of New Jersey. We've had time to think about what we can do differently, and we're excited to be heading back out in early February for our 2024 Do-Over Hike! Please join us along our journey. My goal is to post daily vlogs, and I will also be blogging on my website.
1600 miles and only three of fourteen states to go!! And your videos aren't even IRL. Very pleased for you, especially after all of the PA and NJ setbacks.
You will love the 5 mile flat walk by the Housatonic River. About the heat....these heat waves are awful for our area...I can recall 50 years ago..Summer was much cooler in Connecticut...
I just found your channel, Welcome to my home state of Connecticut...small,but beautiful natural scenery. Friendly, and full of colonial history. Come back in Autumn, in October, when our trees are ablaze with color in the leaves. I will be following you. Blessings, and welcome to the gateway to New England ❤
Love the deers, I was on a trail yesterday here in Georgia and seen a family of 3 deers and was able to get pictures, I just Love Nature!! Pretty Blue skies and views on here! Great exhibits on here as well! Great video!!
Wow that's how I would imagine an ideal day on the trail, good weather, great people, trail magic, good food, good scenery and small historic town America!
Great video. Those rock walls and the fireplace are really amazing. Interesting to imagine the hard work and sweat that it took to build them. You and Hawkeye are making great progress!!
Love watching you and Hawkeye tearing up the trail!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you! You are an encouragement to me and others wanting to hike!!
Do you know why you never see any dead crows in the Road , it's because there's always one up in a tree saying " ka" " ka! ( that joke only works up north here)😮 Bacon Wrap
Love the hiking sticks wish I had one! I was doing a Revival in Eatonton Ga and the Pastor is an older gentleman and he made walking sticks for people, Wow! on the Bear sighting!! That trail magic looks like a great treat! Great views and a great video!!
