AT Thru Hike Day 129: Wildcat Shelter to Fingerboard Shelter

We had planned on a longer day, but we weren’t informed about the rocks of NY so we pulled up after 14.5 miles. We’re planning to hit town tomorrow, but today’s shorter day won’t affect that. It’ll just mean a slightly longer day tomorrow. The short, steep boulder scrambles are still impeding our progress.

Seems like much more wildlife in NY and NJ than in PA...we didn't see that much in PA when we did it either...interesting.

Great that you both got trail magic. Love the meadow view and mountain view! Love seeing the History through out the trail! Continue prayers for Hawkeye for complete healing! I can tell that deer is used to seeing folks on the trail. I am amaze yall made it through the lemon squeezer lol! Keep water is the main thing. Great video!!

It was particularly nerve wracking to see all our gear rubbing against the rock walls. I’m just glad I didn’t get halfway through and decide I needed to take my pack off, because I don’t think I could have backed up!

Thanks. I’m going to have to go back and watch the video to match the fungus with its name. there’s a yellow, cabbage-sized one coming up in a few days that was cool.
