Customs subtitles have been added! A bit later than usual due to issues with RU-vid. Also - I'm curious to what you guys think of the game, do you also feel like it's a big improvement over the first?
I really appreciate the layout of the review and how much info you give. I know nothing about the games and wanted to mostly know about combat and alchemy. I was able to skip along and you told me exactly what I needed to know. 10/10 will let your channel play in the background while I sleep tonight as you deserve views!
Thanks so much and also for the extra support! Really glad to hear this because that's exactly what I want to achieve with my review - give you exactly the information you're looking for :D
The monster target others if you stopped attacking for a while since it knows you want to guard. So the best way to avoid is time monster attack to know when to stop attacking so you can have a small window and not a long one since the monster will know you want to guard. But in reality, it is better to keep attacking and tanking hits since you will likely not die, so you will be ok with decent armor. Also, by the time you have 15AP and use two ability or more, it is good to switch to your other character in reserved to avoid waiting time so you can attack soon as possible, bypass waiting time so you can keep repeating the process over and over for quicker damage and CP building with two characters.
Hmm, might have something to do with the amount of damage dealt in that case? I've had a monster move from me to another character shortly after attacking it so it felt kind of random.
@@Swrinny i bought 1 first as the last game i played was firis trilogy and i just finished it because i was already invested. did some research on this game and oh boy am I glad that there's no 'time limit' like with some other atelier games. I miss Atelier Iris tho :( that was the best Atelier game for me :(
@@mk7893 Sorry to hear that :( With the next-gen starting out a lot PC ports will probably be more and more demanding too, actually need to look into upgrading myself soon D:
Great review. I'm going to buy atelier ryza 2 later on for the nintendo switch. It really looks great. Should I play the first atelier ryza game before playing the second game?
Thank you so much! I definitely recommend playing Ryza 1 first if you care about the story and the characters. While the story in Ryza 2 can be seen and understood as its own thing, it is related to the story of the first game and they do make some references to it. And similarly with the characters - each of them has seen some development in the first game and if you know this, you appreciate them a lot more in the second. If you're mainly interested in the combat and alchemy and don't care much for the story, you could just start with 2 :)
@@Swrinny thank you so much, that's really helpful! I'm definitely going to play the first game before picking up Ryza 2 then, I can appreciate the story a bit more like you said :) Hopefully I can find a physical copy of the game soon, it's basically sold out everywhere at the moment, might have to get the digital version instead.
@@GhostyGamingTV Np and enjoy the ride! :D Tell me about it haha, physical copies for JRPGs tend to be hard to come by once they've been out for a while... not sure why though
Oh god I forgot about it until you just mentioned it again. I remember feeling blinded when leaving the port at the start of the game haha - I guess I've gotten used to it after all those hours. Thankfully most areas such as the ruins are darker by default though
I'm jealous! Still haven't been able to get a PS5 T_T Good thing about Ryza 2 is that you should be able to upgrade the PS4 version to the PS5 version for free. You might wanna look into how this needs to be done, but with that in mind I'd say go with the PS5 version for better performance/visuals :)
Heya - it won't ruin your game experience but having played the first one will make you appreciate the main characters a lot more since you know their backstory. So playing Ryza 1 first is recommended and if not, that's still okay :)
Glad to help! Alchemy is at the core of this game so you'd think people would focus a bit more on it :p Also FYI - I just finished a combat guide video (should be online tomorrow) and hope to finish a more detailed alchemy guide video in the next 3 days, just in case you'd like more info on that!
I didn’t forget btw! Been busy with moving and I haven’t been gaming much since I last left this comment. I’ll leave a reply in the new videos! Thank you so much for doing it man
