I think it's a great idea to stream arcade games for a monthly fee. After all as a kid growing up with arcade games the one thing I loved the most was paying money every week to be able to play the arcade games. I missed that option over the last 25+ years, but now I am glad the option has returned. I was tired of playing arcade games for free. And not only that, but also rely on internet connection to do so. Oh great! As for the rest of the functionality, it looks good. Thanks for the video.
Yo, where'd my comment go from earlier? All I was saying was that AT Games partakes in shady business practices and does a lot of REALLY sketchy releases. Don't be like that, ETA.
I'd consider buying this AtGames Legends Gamer Mini specifically for Front Line - my all-time favorite arcade game. Since this control panel doesn't have a spinner, how can Front Line be played?
@@J43rv1 Oh please spare me the bs ... Those who want to play retro games ... in emulation ... but don't know how to copy a file to an sd card .... what's that ... like 3 people worldwide?
@@detaart oh please spare ME the bs. Some people are very much against piracy and do not want to play illegal rips of games they do not own. Especially in countries with very harsh copyright enforcement.
oh no AtGames is the new LJN....but to add your own games with the SD sound promesing...I love SEGA...and arcade games...sweet NEO GEO....looks like a pritty good produckt...how mutch$? $129 oh ok
so I know some people aren't fans of gamestop but they apparently slashed the price of this down to 50 bucks, so I couldn't resist getting one! even as a stand-alone arcade stick I imagine it'll be at least pretty decent quality so, definitely looking forward to checking it out!!
And now on clearance at GameStop for $50! Just ordered one! And it's a lemon..... of course. Says it's synced. But nothing. Won't work by USB either. Hope they can send me another one......
I think most of these devices are for people who want the convenience of not having to use their brain and search for these games. With all the changes in MAME and Nintendo on the warpath for ROMs it doesn't even own(!), it's a lot less convenient that it used to be to find old games. Meh. I have a lot of old games on CD-ROM. My thing is finding something that's compatible and has a decent emulator for those games and can run attached to 1080p or 4K without having to spend hundreds of dollars in compatible HDMI cables. There are some old games I wouldn't mind playing again without having to worry about stupid old CD-ROM lasers wearing out or finding a decent cable that gives out a good upscaled/filtered image that isn't washed out. Yeah, if you have it, keep your old tube set. At least you won't have to buy new cables for that!
@@AvengerII I'm not saying theres anything wrong with the device its self.... I'm just saying it should have a system where it downloads and deletes the game after use instead of streaming it.... it'd use up far less data.
@@KinseySS The unit supports usb. Just put all the games on a USB flash drive and play them whenever you want. Then you won't have to keep deleting and downloading. I have about 5000 games on a USB stick.
Has ETA Prime been deleting comments? I was asking if there was any ""incentive"" given to him from AT Games in return for a review. I only ask because AT Games is notorious for very shady, inferior, rushed products
can you mod this into a Arcade 1up? was thinking about turning my Mk2 1st edition cab into a Atgames machine while using the Core and maybe the control deck if it is plug and play lol.
I wish the quality of the device was better now it won't recognize the controller( it will pair with my android tablet and laptop and work fine) , the pairing button doesn't work, and it won't reset through that small hole in the back. I've only played with the device maybe 7 times including with Coinops X and it's already failed I hope the Legends Core Max is of better quality.
AtGames is not paying me and I've been a big fan of their stuff since they have CoinOPS X support. Their latest update support Glen USB trackball and spinner support on all their system.
If you want to play this on your TV in the living room, how awkward would it be? Can you have it on your lap on the couch or should you be on the floor sitting indian style or something? It just seems much more suited for a table top.
I just got this for my kids for Christmas. I was able to get it paired up and installed and got them playing their first game. However I can't figure out how to get out of the first game and back to the main game menu. Can anyone help?
@@mrmasterpeels I know where the original came from, I was expressing surprise that ATGAMES got the license for it. I also know that it was indeed made to be a real arcade cabinet after the first movie: Barcade in New York City had it and it felt like a weird in-between of Donkey Kong and Crazy Climber.
@@apollolux OK. I wasn't saying you didn't know what it was. I was just replying to the way you worded your question. That it wasn't just Fix it Felix in some random game they made, but the game from the movie.
The input lag is strong in this one and super visible while playing. Check Metalslug, the difference between the input and when the sprite changes direction.
planning to buy only the legend core in the future, very curious how to add games please...neo geo for example it is already running neo geo but so I expect that the bios is already there?.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it illegal to sell unauthorized ROMs ? Because I doubt that they have the right to sell all those games with it. Would I do something illegal if I set an Raspberry pi 4 or something up with all available ROMs for snes , nes etc etc and sell it ?
Can you show a wired connection to a PC running something like CoinopsX Next or Diamonds? Do the controls just work or do you have to do a bunch of configuring?
I am leaning into getting 1 when i can afford it.My friend and i started a thing last week.Rather than lanning we play mame games.Funny we started with metal slug as he's pro in it(not me though 😁)A 2 player one would be nice but i have a small room and a big pc so idk if it will fit.I also have to see How much it goes for in South Africa as we pay around 100-200 usd more for parts.
ETA, would you consider making a video of playing the Legends Core with the Xtension Control Panel? I pretty much have it working except I can't start player 1 or player two on a lot of atgames games. It would be a good a great vid for us Xtension users and probably a challenge for you. Thanks!
I wanna see it running The Pinball Arcade using the pinball buttons -- if it can do that, I shall make instant purchase. Subject, of course, to availability.
Probably not, 8bitdo is known for quality while Atgames is known for disappointments. Plus the atgames one is game streaming with a subscription service, 8bitdo has a raspberry pi built in so you can fully customize and add your own games without paying a big fee.
