"Atheist didn't want to clarify subjective Vs objective" He gave Ali the definition for "objective morality" and it was Ali who said this was not his definition but Ali did not clarify what his definition was. Poor guy looked lost when I watched this live. I hope he didn't lose a child because that seemed to have been the premise of his questioning. I know people who have lost children in tragic circumstances and I've seen for myself the two sides of the test of life. One couple completely fell into dis-belief and their lives spiraled into self-pity and destruction. But, another family turned their towards Allah and benefited from their new found iman and ibadah. This is the beautful thing about Islam - in both cases the child goes to Jannah inshAllah.
The child that dies, will enter into paradise without any judgement. The trial for the Parent is if they understand this as the mercy of Allah or not, they did not see their child's future they did not know wether their child will turn out to be a good Muslim or not, but Allah did, it is painful to lose a child but ultimately what matters more is the child is now in the best of places guaranteed by Allah, it's normal to miss your child, but have hope and pray that you will he reunited with them in Janna. For the child it was a finite amount of pain for eternal paradise. For the parent it's the trial of how much do they really understand Islam and Allah.

@@macmac1022 You think you are so smart and acting as though philosophers have come up some groundbreaking ideas on morals and ethics. This is the beauty about Islam. It already addresses the principle of Utility which Jeremy Bentham & John Stuart Mill proposed so many centuries later. Jeremy Bentham is widely known as the Father of Utilitarianism (maximise pleasure and minimise pain for the greatest good for the greatest number of people) and John Stuart Mill described individuals as having lords of pleasure and pain. Look how ALLAH refuted the ideas of Jeremy Bentham & John Stuart Mill over 1000 years before they were BORN: "Have you seen ˹O Prophet˺ the one who has taken their own desires as their god? Will you then be a keeper over them? Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle; nay, they are even farther astray from the Path. (i.e. even worst than cattle)." (The Noble Qur'an 25:43-44). What a befitting description of such humans like yourself. Just as the sheep and cattle do not know where their driver is taking them, to the meadow or to the slaughter house, so are these people also following their leaders blindly without knowing or judging where they are being led, to success or to destruction. The only difference between the two is that the cattle have no intelligence and will not be accountable as to the place where they are being taken by the driver. But it is a pity that human beings who are endowed with reason, should behave like cattle; therefore their condition is worse than that of cattle. Also, cattle obeys their shepherd regardless even if they don't have intellect, whereas humans are arrogant to obey their Master even though they have intellect to distinguish what is right and wrong.
@@macmac1022 Regarding your example of the child drowned and why ALLAH allowed it - again ALLAH addressed your analogy more than 14 centuries ago. There is the story of Moses and Khidr found in the 18th surah of The Qur'an where Khidr killed a boy and then out of Moses' impatience, he explained through ALLAH's Revelation the Wisdom behind why he killed the boy by ALLAH's Command as he would grow up to be tyrant and oppress at his righteous parents who would have been misguided. ALLAH decides to grant the righteous parents a substitute with a pious child. The moral lesson is this: We have been commanded by ALLAH to do good and stay away from evil. He allowed evil to take place as humans have the choice to do so and we are undergoing a test, so we have moral obligation. However, in the Sight of ALLAH - there is always goodness out of evil since one of His Beautiful Names is Al-Barr (The Good) but also He is Al-Hakeem (The All-Wise).
@@macmac1022 hmm the first thing was that he asked which morality you use as guidelines and implied and exercised these morals as if they were objective standards. @@tachikoma7757 why is saving someone from drowning and make them have a chance of disbelieving and go to hell better than letting them go to Jannah according to Allah ?
The fundamental problem with his argument is that it does not take the afterlife into account. "Why did not God save the child?" He did. He saved him from tests, suffering and burdens in this life, and ultimately from the test of the grave, the judgement and hellfire, by dying at a short age and being granted direct entrance into heaven. It's just a problem if you just focus in this life and you don't believe that there's something that comes after it either infinitely worse than any sort of suffering in this one (hell) or infinitely better than any pleasure and joy that you can experience here (heaven).

(2:156)_*
Yes ofc Muslims do not see death as the end, its simply the end of your test and the beginning of your judgement. So death and suffering are not evil in themselves. Now if a human out of their free will is causing more death and suffering, then that human is evil for doing so.
