Can’t believe anyone is dishing on Van Halen. They always put all they had out there. Great band covering VH. This guitar player is the real deal!!! Hell anyone that can cover a catalog of VH songs is a player. Everyone thinks his leads are the thing that make him special. Eddies timing and rhythm was unmatched.
Back around 2 decades ago the Original line up with Ralph Sáenz, Brian on guitar and Scot Patterson on drums + bass player whose name escapes me were incredible at that time when tribute bands were a new thing. THE best and baddest line up ever!
Eddie's ability to write super catchy ear pleasing licks along with his impeccable timing set him at the top of the 80's and 90's guitar gods. This dude here is pretty awesome in his own right. Rip EVH...😂
+Ultimate Basses -Look up atomic punks unchained that has Michael starr and Satchel. Thats close your eyes and its VH. The only original member I see is the bass player.
I've always had mixed feelings about long-time tribute bands but when one is this good, my mixed feelings go away. This is really great. Especially for those who never get to see Van Halen. I've always loved early Van Halen and I always remember listening to their first album the first time. I had never heard of them when I bought the album at the long defunct Caldor. It was pure joy. If this band comes to my town, I'll be there.
Man these guys sound great. Lots of energy. Even eddie hasn't had that tone since 1984. [Thank you digital processor age :( ] can't help but imagine what it must've been like to see the real guys in 76-77 in the club days when they were hungry. As nikki sixx once said, once van halen went through the LA scene, there wasn't much any band could do to impress accept dress-up in crazier and crazier wardrobe and hair.
Hopped on RU-vid because I heard this band was good and wanted to check them out. I ended up watching the entire 1 1/2 hour show. Bravo boys! Well done!
I thought it was really Diamond Dave lol. I mean I can't imagine a tribute vocalist looking any more like the original than he does, its uncanny. I give you guys a ton of credit, an hour and a half of that music is grueling - it's extremely high energy.
Holy fuck dog these guys are absolutely amazing… Yeah I would definitely hire them… I hope they put on a big tour in memory of the great Eddie Van Halen… I think they would sell the shit out quick. They are extremely talented, and this is not easy to replicate. Bravo, Keep on rockin
It's part of Dave's act. It's part of the whole "I am so fucked up I can't remember anything" act from the 80s. However he is one of the most intelligent and professional musicians out there.
Woww!!! Excellent band... Tribute to VHalen 10 points!! Yeaahhhh From now on, fans of The Atomic Punk (and of course Van Halen who was already) The quality of the musicians, their voices, their choirs, is imrpesionante !! Congratulations... In addition, the physical resemblance and aptitude deserves applause
I know! Why on earth are there so many haters just Cos they are not the original VH doesn’t mean they don’t do a damn good job. I would watch them play, I think tribute bands are awesome. VH are older now and it’s nice to go see this band which is like reliving VH when they were younger. I don’t get why so many haters when it comes to tribute bands.
i think most people in bands or around music...understand how much work it is to sound even remotely close to VH or any other bands that are doing covers......they are a great cover band...was fun to watch this ...thanks for posting it
Atomic Punks YOU ROCK! I don't usually get excited about a cover band but their tribute is both top notch and I have to admit I watched this video of them 3 times! lol I see the guy who commented before me said almost the same thing. Reid Harris I agree 100%.
Looks great! Sounds Great! All in all a perfect, well seasoned, Tribute to one of my favourite bands. (Both in and out Character these guys got it going on).... If they're ever in my neck of the woods, I'll be first in line and standing front a centre singing and playing along to every song. Congrats on 20 years boys. Thanks for the post
I love the rich sounding bass in this band. Makes it sound more badass like VH. You couldn't hear the bass in that other band Unchained. Makes a big difference.
I got here a bit by accident and all I can say is WOW!!! Best VH cover band I've ever heard. Love the cover of "Feel your love tonight". This guy sounds uncannily like DLR and the lead guitar player is exceptional!!
These guys are fucking great and great fucking guys. I saw them and had a chance to spend some time with them three months ago. Show was long and awesome. Most of the crowd stood for the entire show. Band members are totally committed and have talent by the boatloads with total respect to Van Halen. Any Van Halen fan will love the Atomic Punks!
Yeah might be true, that's really sad. Didn't go see reunion shows because I didn't want to pay all that money to be let down, by what you just said, also was pissed that they took so long to reunite (Felt like they had incredible nerve to charge that much money)....... I mean that REALLY pissed me off! Playin' with the fans all the time like they did.........I FCK n' LOVED THAT BAND, and they let me down, after A while you just have to walk away...... ..... And you NEVER feel the same way about those types of things ever again. Bands have done different things with their reputations, breaking up, getting back together, etc, etc, and I'm A fan of MANY, MANY, other groups, but this band got COMPLETELY self absorbed, or something, and I don't know what it was but they lost touch with their fans, and for that matter REALITY, to me they will go down as one of ONE OF THE BIGGEST Wastes of Talent, and Time in popular culture, what they had, and what they could have done!?!?!?!?!?!..... ....... A Giant Waste, such A shame.
This is the best cover show ive ever seen. These guys really rock. If your wandering if you should have a beer nd watch the whole thing, my advise is, yes. Watch these guys pull an amazing VH impersonation. Energy energy energy. And it sounds, pardon me, but really fucking good. Enjoy, rock on. RIP Eddie.
I'm an old VH fan from Waaaay back . I like seeing the young kids today doing this. They sound pretty damn good too. Great Job fellas. Remember guys, don't do drugs/alcohol, it will effect your ability to sing and play well. Be sober players.
Someone mentioned before it was nuno bettencort. I figured it wasnt because he probably wouldn't have time for tribute bands. I mean hes been on tour with Rihanna for a couple years.
+tim starkey Well it isn't Nuno.... which everyone with an eyesight above 50% can see. But a great band it is....! They should fire their soundman though.
JASON....HEY MAN....THANKS-A-MILLION FOR LETTING US ALL ENJOY THIS AMAZING SHOW!!!!!! I WATCH IT SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK AND LOVE IT MORE EACH TIME!!!!!!!!! YOU ROCK BROTHER!!!!! EDDIE IS KING!!!!! CHEERS....... DD!!!!!!!!
