Had this on my Genesis, hellishly difficult until I read the manual and learned that I could TURN THE CHARACTER AROUND. Ah, a gem from another era.

The graphics are so much more detailed then the arcade version!

wow! didn't think i see Shakkoumon using his Kachina Bomb move in this game.

A game where you often have to fight more with the awkward control scheme than with the enemies and obstacles; not a classic in my book but still worth remembrering as an interesting experiment and another product of Data East's great taste for the bizarre. This console version is even more notable because the graphics have been entirely redone and are better than the original - if less coherent: Cyber-Egypt? A South American jungle with also Moais? - while the level design, every single platform and enemy, are all at the same exact place than in the arcade!

Chelnov will always be a classic gem in my book.

While not mind blowing in any respect, AR was one of the more solid efforts that came from Data East. A really fun game to play.

Brass Idol looks like Arahabaki from Shin Megami Tensei

Oh man, I remember renting this game as a kid, fucking hated it (and couldn't even get passed the first level) . I'm glad to see someone kick it's ass.

Ah yes.. The game rygar truly wanted to be.

That weapon is actually pretty weak, I would use the regular laser beefed up with “UPs”
