Hi! I'm the HG pilot in the video(e.g. at 5:40).Thank you for uploading it. Brings back good memories from that day.The electric powered trike is really impressive, maybe I would buy one in the future.Have you ever tried an outlanding with it?I wonder how it would perform in high grass and/or uneven terrain.I'd like to also know your experiences with the battery pack.Does it lose capacity over time?
Sorry for my late reply, just saw it now - anyway, you're absolutely right, nice memories! To your questions: haven't tried an outlanding yet however do not see a real issue finding a low grass field; the age of my battery is now about 5 years and recognized this year that the battery (at least displayed) lost about 5 AmpHours (from 40 to 35) but in thermal conditions I usually need about 1/3 to 1/2 of the capacity at max.; hope to see you next time in the air!
Cool trike and video Gerold. Can you tell me who is the manufacturer of the trike? It looks like the pilot has a tendency to yaw under the glider. How many degrees will the trike yaw from the straight forward (aligned with keel) position? Is this an atos VR or VX? Thanks.
epicfluffingfail Hi, the manufacturer is Toni Roth / Germany (see homepage); yes, the hang-in-point is flexible and therefore allows yawing (...can hardly estimate the degrees but would assume around 50 degrees) which is very helpful in terms of sidewind-conditions; the glider is a VR and is equipted with airbrakes. Cheers, Gerold
That’s a great kit you’re flying. Kind of odd seeing that wing without side wires or struts. What was your max altitude that day? I’d really like to try a true soaring trike some day.
40AmpH - without any thermal conditions, I can fly about 20min.; however in thermal conditions I usually need 1/3 to 1/2 of the battery capacity and fly some hours
@@rohailwani ...good question; suppose that hanggliding is not that popular in India too; anyway, if you have a chance to practice this wonderful type of free flying, do it!!!
@@geroldwiesenbauer1743 where is the chance? I haven't seen a single hang glider in my whole life face to face. I m 23 year old mechanical engineer. I have a plan to make a plane or wing glider powerd by bike engine.
