If you plan on keeping the stock cluster, keep the electronic side of the ABS, throw away just the hydraulic part. If you don't have rear speed sensors, you can repin the connector and put the front signal wires where the rear would be, that way you can have speed and mileage on your cluster, no matter what rear end you running.
Yessir I’m 17 and I bought a hatch s13 and I been working on it I have watched all your vids and try to keep up I’m a big fan and I live your channel but I hope it grows more you deserve more views tbh but keep it up and hopefully you read this it would mean a lot!
i swear Jimmy always be putting out fire content on this channel!! useful information, sick builds, and so much knowledge when it comes to automotive !!! makes me feel like im back in autotech class in highschool 20 years ago lol
This really look great, I would do anything to swap my E46 with an LS but to get an LS in South Africa is like chicken teeth and hell off expensive. can't wait to see this swap done. great content.
Fire video as always. Love the random stop ins. B-hall that beast will shred plenty of tire. It will be funny watching it do it if you make it quiet for now 🤣
Derek hit the nail on the head about LS swaps nickel and diming you the entire time. Don't blame you at all for using the factory manifolds. Had exhaust not been the first thing I ordered for mine I'd probably have gone factory too.
I feel like I have seen Jimmy put a million throughout bearings on BMW gearboxes at this point 😅 Now when I am finally able to afford a K swap for Miata I will be well able to through a Bmw gearbox on it!!
Forward facing headers are gonna suck for the serpentine belt routing but it's so worth it. I hid a whole muffler in my front bumper so I could dump exhaust put the side of the front bumper.
Damn! Thank you for making this video. I’ve been looking for a video for this set up! Now I just have to figure out if the 6speed zf can handle the ls!
Taylor Ray ran G8 GT manifolds on his 6.2 with stock heads and made mid 400s rwhp. Maybe hit him up to see if he still has them. They fit a miata so maybe they will fit a bmw. He did pick up significant power with longtubes.
My car's transmission was made by GM of France, however. With a couple nice modifications. Sequential shifting capability that actually worked. The transmission is Good for 300 HP, so if you are using a GM transmission it should fit to a chevy engine. Same transmission used in a Cadillac DTS or Deville, or full size C or K trucks at the time. Really good solid auto transmission that came with 2nd generation 3 series BMW. 3 speed with overdrive, that was also geared quite well I thought. Especially the overdrive gear I thought was especially good. But I'd imagine a manual would be the best if it can handle the HP.
Headers for that car with the space is a nightmare bhall!!!!! That thing will rip plenty with stock ramhorns!!!! Block huggers would help but you still would have to clearance somewhere.. she looks awesome dude
I order the same motor mounts lol like 3 or 4 montha ago. I'm still waiting on mine. And for clutch I went with act disc and spec pressure plate from the boys at drift hq which should be good for 600 crank. So if you guys burn through that clutch it's a good opinion
The biggest deal with the headers won't be power. It's going to back pressure. Back pressure leads to more heat under hood. I'd plan to add vents for heat management or at least help with getting heat out.
One of the things with a 3 series, you can have "too much" Horsepower if you don't have the M3 suspension upgrade. Even then, the light weight of the 3 series does make a good drifter, one of the best with its more than stiff chassis. I've always thought this engine + trans to be a crazy combination. Yep it is. lol Great point about upgrading oil pan. So many forget how that is important for a drift car. People/Guys just want to do donuts and not think about the consequences and gravity and G-force and what that means for your motor. lol
I had an unsprung expensive clutch disk in my E36 328is NA build and I would have to spin the tires just to get the car to move from a stop, there was no soft engagement and the clutch disk only lasted 38k miles 😆, next clutch was a heavy duty sprung 6 puck ACT and it was 100x better and less stressful to drive.
