I'm so grateful for people like you who take a couple of minutes to explain basics to someone like me who is challenged around any set of tools and any set of minor issues that happen within a home. Honestly I would have called a handyman to come put on a new door handle.
Thank you for posting such a simple video. I knew I could fix the door but had no idea what kind of tool I needed to used, Thanks to your video, my door handle is all fixed!!!
Thank you so much for the tip that turning the screw to the right would tighten the handle. That seems backward as I was turning the screw to the left thinking the screw would come out and grab the handle to prevent it from coming loose. Yours is about the 10th video on this topic I watched today and no one mentioned that.
Thank you so much!!! My door knob fell off, and I noticed a hole but I couldn't find a screw until I saw this video. It was just inside the whole time!!!
So simple yet I shopped for a screw that I thought fell out until I saw this video. After watching this video I grabbed a 3/32 Allen wrench and fixed it in 2 minutes. Thanks!
thank you! and i knew there was a reason we kept all these allen wrenches left for us when we bought the house. i too was looking for the screw - when all you have to do is tighten it.
Thank you so much! I was scared it would door handle fix it or not 😊 .I saw your video within 1 minute of my problem solved totally life saver.your are genius Sir 😊.
I had two similar handles come loose in my house, I didn't have an allen wrench but I had a small drill bit that happened to be the size I needed and it solved the problem. Thank you so much for posting this, the handles are black and I didn't even realize the hole for the screw was even there!!! I thought I had to call someone to replace the whole knobs.
God bless you for posting this - we suddenly have a handle flying right off, and I thought I needed a new one. Hopefully, we have the right size wrench.
Hey Noah, big fan of all of your content. Currently in a weird spot mentally where I’m wanting more but conversely perfectly content in the stage of life I’m in, cause I have the flexibility to apply myself outside of my job and learn/focus on where I want to go in the next 3-5, as well the coveted work life balance of soon to be 2 boys under 2. But also battling internally on working for someone vs myself. I feel like ripping the bandaid, but also know there is more for me to learn within my field before doing so. Any one liners, from your experience or another’s, that will help me out? One that sticks out to me is from Richest Man in Babylon where you must first seek the knowledge, but that’s me looking for my own justifications. Ps, came here cause my handle keeps falling off, but also taking my shot at a response cause I saw your reply with no likes / comment from a month ago.
Additionally in the lonely mix of having outgrown old friends being the only one to have kids & given up that “party / go with the flow” life, as well as pressing forward into my career development but not near the top quite just yet. Interesting but exciting times ahead
This video just helped me now! Had a house full of people coming over and my door knob falls off and im like this is murphys law lol. Was able to finally loosen it with the right allen key.
Not that it makes a difference but when you turn it clockwise your running the setscre further in and it goes into a whole internally on the other side which locks it in place, not backing it out so that it's locked into the whole your putting the Allen key through.
Thanks so much for this video; it saved a lot of headache (and money). In my case, I needed a size 3/32 allen wrench (perhaps the screw sizes are around the same size for these door handles).
What happens when that hole for the allen wrench has been stripped? Not sure how to replace such tiny screws or where to get replacement storm door handle screws.
I did that once and it fixed it for a month but now it’s happening again and it won’t tighten, idk if the screw is even still in there.. do they sell replacement screws? If u know 😅
I would think that if it worked when you fixed it once, the screw is def still in there. If it slips off after tightening, then maybe it isn’t. But if it doesn’t slip off after tightening, then the screw is doing its job and is there. And if it loosens over time (more quickly than you think it should) perhaps time for a whole new handle? I have no idea if they sell individual screws. A question for Ace or Home Depot dude!
I would be a little surprised if the screw inside the round-shaped little hole was also truly round as there is no tool that could tighten anything - needs something to grab onto in order to tighten or loosen. I still think it would be an allen wrench that does the trick, just wondering if the set screw somehow fell out?
@@markbailey5017 Thanks for the reply. I carefully looked at the little hole at the door handle and it's round shape that I can't see hex tool can be inserted. It's very common in Europe. And what is the exact name for the "Tool" that you used for tightening?
When googling with that specific question - it says 1/8" or 3/32". Don't know which specific door handle you have. Allen wrenches typically come in sets, so just use one until it fits, but start with google's answer first.
