Thank you! Unfortunately the face plate did not just slide off like your's did, so I had to pry it off by sliding a pointy metal nail file between the plate and the base where the screws are. After 20 minutes it came off and I was able to access the screws. Thanks again. Home repair stores are closed right now and so thankful I can lock my back door tonight. You are a lifesaver!

Thanks Robert. Mine had the handle with the set screw that needed the Allen wrench and while I was at it I tightened the whole thing up too Great video Thanks again

Hello. Thanks for the video...I have door handle that came off (like from the end of the video) and it has that screw like lock....do I just keep turning the whole handle clock wise or counter clockwise depending on the positioning of the handle?

One of your viewers mentioned that if you're having troubles with the door lock, it is better to replace it so you don't get locked out. Following your advice, I watched your video, went to the store, bought a new knob assembly, and replaced the old knob. Door works like a champ. Thanks man, for the confidence, and the knowledge.

When turning the handle does not move the latch in or out. Guess it’s time for a new door knob. I wonder if the new one can be keyed to all the other door knobs or must I buy all new knobs ?

same brand should rekey. most hardware stores will do that for you if you have the key with you when you purchase the lock.

I have a similar knob with that type of handle; the mechanism still moves the bolt but it feels loose like a or the spring inside loosened up....I have others in the house that feel stiffer/firmer....any ideas anyone?

Great video. We have a similar door handle in the laundry room that leads into the garage. It doesn't feel broken or loose, but it doesn't open the door when you pull up or down on the handle. We have to lift up and then down on the handle to open it. Is it indeed broken, or is it fixable? Thank you very much for your time and expertise!

Robert, before replacing the door handle, I thought I would try some WD40 on it. Sure enough, it worked. Maybe you could pass on the info in the event someone else has the same problem. I really appreciate your channel and will keep it at the very top of my play lists. God bless you.

This was very informative, but nothing happens when I press a pin into the release clip (nothing larger will fit) - the handle still won't move. I'm really struggling here 😅😅😅
