The commander was so epic that thousand of people can still here his speech from the top of the wall.

4:41 i still think back to this soldier. Dude was scared shitless, but the thought of his daughter being eaten was enough to overwrite his fear and instead granted him courage.

I love the human nature in this anime.

4:41 - 5:00 Probably one of the most noteworthy scenes in Attack on Titan as a whole. It only lasts for about twenty seconds, but it effectively depicts just what someone would do when everything is on the line with their loved ones at stake. Fear is the instinctive response to danger; a reflex. Courage is the choice to perform the dangerous duty anyways despite that fear. I especially love how the light shines down on this one soldier as he makes the brave choice to possibly sacrifice himself for the ones he loves, before showing how each and every single one has made the same decision. Powerful stuff.

"We mustn't die within narrower walls", that was the best line and quote in attack on Titan forever, man it was beautiful the way he said it.

This is literally one of my favorite scenes in the entire series; the thing I love about AOT/SNK is that it's non-actions scenes are just as amazing as its fighting, running around sections.

I felt so bad for Eren when he said "I have to become everyone's hope" cos I couldn't begin to imagine the amount of pressure he was under in that moment.

One of my favorite moments of this scene is 5:50 and onwards. Showing the walls with that speech and the music really gives it an very epic touch. As soon as I saw this, I kept repeating it myself, even acting as Pyxis on that scene. I'm gonna be honest, this scene really reminds me of how commanders here are willing to sacrifice everything to boost soldier morale, and win victory. Honestly one of the most amazing scenes there is in my opinion.

The first commander who convinced his whole army to die.

I more than a little surprised that there isn't a single comment comparing Pixis' speech here to the Saint Crispin's Day speech from Henry V. In both cases, we have a commander whose forces are on the verge of losing heart in the face of an overwhelming enemy. Both speeches uplift the despairing troops, but what I find interesting is how both Henry and Pixis shame the fearful in their ranks into rediscovering their fighting spirit. Prixis: "Heed my command Those who desert us now will all be pardoned Once a man surrenders to their fear of the titans they are no longer fit for battle Those who have experienced that fear are free to leave..." Henry V: "Proclaim it throughout my host That he which have no stomach for this fight let him depart, His passport shall be made Crowns for convoy put into his purse We'll not die in that man's company Who fears his fellowship to die with us..." It's obvious, at least to me, that Isayama Hajime has been keeping up on his Shakespeare.

That small part when the soldier turns around and says my daughter is my last hope gets me everytime, I remember cheering, because most people have that instinct. There was a show where a little girl got attack by a shark and her father despite being afraid of the shark dove in after her , when she was retelling the story she said the marks on her leg were from the shark , but the Mark on her arm was from her Dad because he refused to let the shark take her.

When do they say "PIXUSU!!! PIXISU!! PIXIS!!!"

This scene makes me want to simultaneously cry and cheer. This man speaks the truth that no one dared to do before. That's sad but also powerful

Watching that for the first time, was so epic , undoubtedly one of the most memorable anime scenes of all time. On par with Goku turning super saiyan for the first time. Attack on Titan is just awesome.

When he brings up the deserter's families I literally get chills. Pixis knows how to do his job man.

this speech is much better in terms of motivation than Erwin's. Old man simply made it clear to everyone what they should fight for and what exactly would happen if they didn't. Erwin come with some kind of philosophical speech about the meaning of life

Pyix's speech reminds me so much of Tyrion's speech in the Battle of the Blackwater. It's simultaneously cynical as all hell, as well as damned inspiring. He doesn't sugarcoat the odds. He doesn't glorify what needs to be done. He gives it to the soldiers like it is, tells them what they need to hear, when they need to hear it.

Spoiler alert for someone who's not up to date to the anime and manga. This scene hits so different after you know the back story of Paradis. This is the 'atonement' for their sins. The mental anguish of whether they will be devoured or not. Living and waking up in this nightmare. Their only sin being born.

The Eldia inside the wall are now devided into non-Jeagerist and Jeagerist (New Eldian Empire). Their enemy have proven to be a fellow human and they were hated throughout the entire world. Despite the the victory at Trost and success in preventing a chaos from Wall Sina falling and the entire government suffered from a civil war, the human inside the wall would still kill themselves.

I love how Bertoldt is just standing there like “Lol this sucks, I caused this.”

The thing that I loved about the first season of aot is that u could feel exactly what the soldiers were feeling. Honestly aot for me is just a masterpiece as a whole
