Wow. This video came out 20 minutes ago. I'm so thankful I watched this because I'm sitting at a bus stop and I just got attacked after I watched this.
Quickly stand up on the bench/chair you were sitting and yell "It's over! I have the high ground!". If they persist then use your giant glowstick to sever three of their limbs.
I like the video I broke my back skiing I use crutches to walk so I can’t stand up but I like the takedown part but if you could elaborate on how to fight on the ground if you cannot get up that would be great my brother.
Very nice tips and good explanations. Yet you have to check out traditional Karate Shotokan (not the non-contact bs everyone is familiar with), kyokushin karate, krav maga, aikido, ju jitsu. These are some of the styles that have excellent techniques for sitting self-defense situations.
Thank you for this. Would you please do a video of what to do when attacked from BEHIND while seated? A woman once told a friend about being seated at her desk at home when a man, a family member, attacked her from behind, hitting her repeatedly in her head and neck with his fists. There was little she could do, as she was shoved tightly into the desk as he pounded her head from behind. She's done all she can to avoid being in that position again, of course. But it would be great to be able to point her to a video of yours to show her what on earth she might be able to do to defend herself if it ever happened again.
@@_martinirvana Thankfully, she is okay, but the mentally disabled family member is still living in the house with her. She called his doctors and they've adjusted his meds, but she is still very wary of him. She is trying to find someplace to send him besides the street, although she hopes it doesn't come to that.
Efficient, but man youre such a sweetie. I kept thinking; "right to the balls!", "pop his balloons!" We got there with the kick, though. Whew! Great advice sir
Hey Shane, what about if you are sitting at a table? Also, could you do a video on what martial arts are used by the U.S. military and when? How about other countries? Thanks!
I love this everyday video Shane keep it up. I am a huge fan!!!! I have a video idea hear me out folks. Its for girls self defense. "What to do when another girl grabs you by the hair on street fights". I see a lot of videos here in youtube about girls in street fight and they always grab each others hair. This is just a thought though.
I've sat on that bench! But I got vertigo, so I didn't enjoy looking around. Apparently that feeling stuck with me bc I had to listen without watching too much.
Hello Shane, I know it's a weird question but have you ever fought in the mma? I'm just wondering because you talk about that sort of stuff in your videos a lot
Do you always have to attack? What if you are above proficient at evasion and blocking (basically, defense)in almost any situation? can you just escape from the fight?
@fightTIPS I excell in psychology and I learned that some of the worst places to take a hit can be from your frontol lobe (the front of your brain) this spot in our brain is what makes us stand out from animals and gives us our intelligence, meaning it could cost to take a hit there. Why does it seem like in mma we're told to use this as a block positionable shield?
I got attacked on the bus once, guy came up behind my and threw a haymaker at the back of my head. I was lucky enough to have a super thick skull so it didn't rock me, and the first thing i did was grab both his wrists. At this point he was powerless because he couldn't get any distance being on the bus or generate enough leverage to kick or knee me. I held wrist control and eventually the bus driver hustled his ass off the bus. best defense if you are stuck and can't move!
Don't go into grappling as your first response. Look at your legs. Kick the knees, groin or stomach (push kick). That will keep them back and could possibly take them down. If you're going forward you need to move outside, do not go straight at them and try to leg takedown or headbutt. Risking damaging yourself. Also if you try to grab them like them you need to think about them driving an elbow to your spine or back of your head, possibly killing you or kneeing you in the face. Worst of all pulling a knife after you grabbed them. You need to look where your hands and feet are placed in relation to the distance. You should train that way. Best way to respond is to drive your leg up to the groin or stomach, that will keep them further away. If you lead the foot on their mid section, pushing will move them back allowing you to come off the bench outside of a punch.
Hey I have a question, what if someone duct tapes your hands behind your back? How could you escape it? It would mean a lot if you made a video of how to escape it! Thank you!
I would have quickly grabbed the back of his right heel with my right hand driving his kneecap forward with my upper shoulder at full force causing him to fall onto the ground where the ground is my home/the ocean, I'm the shark and he's but a mere infant learning to swim. - Brazilian Jujitsu 🐙
I couldn't find the "Attacked by a toddler with a sharp toy?" video. I think he had sharpened his toy on his driveway into a shank. What kind of precision kicks are least likely to seriously hurt a toddler, while still kicking away the sharp toy?
You can use light weights, just make sure to squeeze and contract your muscles as hard as you can, almost like you're choking them out. The numbers on the weights don't matter, it's all about stimulating your muscles in the least amount of time.
The answer is : It's not optimal to gain mass. to build mass you should use a weight that u find hard to finish 12 reps with. A lighter weight that u can do more than 12 reps with will build up your endurance more than your mass. 8-12 reps is the best range for mass
Shane, what is the efficacy of knife hand strikes, like to the neck, I find my knife hand strike (from Taekwondo) is a lot faster than my punches, instead of throwing a jab or hay maker should we throw knife hands to their neck to paralyse the opponent?
I think if you hit the Vagus nerve you will knock the opponent down and mentally disrupt them at a minimum. I have never seen it used but we practice it a lot in my club
alot of this stuff does not happen to me, but 2 days ago when I was sitting and eating lunch with some of my friends. And this kid with autism he didnt realy like me for some reason, anyway he came up to punched me and I used this technique and it worked pretty well.
