Fun fact, in Russia "Tmutarakan" nowadays means the same as "Bumfuck" - some small place far away from civilization. It is also a funny word for Russians (and probably most Slavics in general), because it basically sounds like "Darkcockroach/Darknesscockroach". Another funny Russian word for Bumfuck is Muhosransk - "Flyshitsk".

I did this exact same challenge a few months ago starting with the same character. Also went for the Caucasus but then took over Cyprus as a base to invade. After Jerusalem was taken I realised that I was surrounded so I became a vassal of Egypt and then worked from the inside to destroy the sultanate, may have murdered a few Egyptian Sultans. Once I was independent and formed Israel I then went on to conquer Syria and Egypt as well, fully restoring the promised land. So glad that these obscure but fascinating characters are being done and look forward to your future videos Snap.

I played as this guy and randomly got a claim on the county of Krech in the Byzantine Empire. The Empire was in like 3 wars so i defeted them while having maybe like 700 soldiers of my own and around 2k from my allies.

I think my favorite playthrough I ever did in CK3 was this start. After getting freedom from the Khazar Khan, I infiltrated a collapsed Byzantines, forming a hybrid Israeli Greek culture and Christian Jewish syncretic faith. Generations later, Constantinople fell and the Byzraeli Empire dominated the Eastern Mediterranean.

This is actually one of the easiest starts, since your culture is present only in your country you can build tall and boost development for the first phases of the game, but after you will find yourself with one of the most technological advanced cultures and one of the richest county that will easly able you to both take down kazaria and then take Jerusalem
