My dealer mentioned that when it's really cold, they run it through the glow plug cycle 2-3 times before turning the key. I haven't tried it, but maybe that's the ticket for you!!

Couple things like others stated run glow plug cycle 2-3 times to get those cylinders hot(warm). Above a block heater get an oil pan heater, you'll score a piston starting a diesel like that when it's that cold the oil is like molasses and can take 15 seconds or more to start lubricating. Don't keep cranking when your batteries are that low, you'll burn your starter out very quick when your volts go low your amperage shoots up. Living in ND/mn all my life every vehicle needs: block heater, oil pan heater and a battery heater. Diesels should be plugged din an hour prior. Take care of your vehicles and they will take care of you.

Minnesota here. No diesels, but growing up my dad always had the vehicles that were parked outside plugged into something. If not a heater then a trickle charger to help the batteries out. When I did the military thing, I learned that you basically just never turn the trucks off and you don't have problems like this. :P

Very grateful for this video. If I get a Roxor I will put a block heater on it and hook the heater to a timer so it starts warming in the morning. I had a semi tractor with block heater. Leaving block heater hooked up all night on semi made my electric bill skyrocket.

diesel doesn't have any spark plug so all you gotta need is to keep reving or put something hot on the head gasket and you will be good to go

Hey, I remembered the old days when my uncle would pour a bucket of hot water over the engine bay and start diesel engines. He had a pretty huge garage and I don't think you can try it on this 😅

Jelly. Get a block heater. Diesels need warmth. Cranking on dry cylinders is no good. Fuel additives may help.

Also just some advice, spraying starting fluid in a cold diesel can really dry out cylinder walls. Use sparingly if you have too. I drove semis in cold climates for years. Other then that, that motor will last way longer than that car. Enjoy!

Well its a diesel motor, so requires more compression and no. of rotations .. if only had it been a petrol mill, which is currently under testing here

Turn on head lamp and count to 10...that pre heats batterie. Works in ohio. At -45°

I'm with Dan (but not is south Fla.) All modern diesels are equipped with block heaters, have you checked your owners manual for cold weather operation? If it doesn't come equipped with a block heater, I would install one. But first, get it indoors.. Also add an anti-gel agent to your fuel, might be gelled in the fuel lines.

There’s a number of places a guy could install a block heater. This year I’ll take a closer look at the engine and see if there are any freeze plugs. That would be a god place to install a heater.

With the way the fuel pump sounds, are you sure the diesel isn't jelled.

Possible. And the battery just doesn’t have enough amps to cranks the Diesel engine.
