that battery mount is SO unprofessional! You should have used yellow straps to match the dozer. (also maybe some rust converter to slow down the tray but, mostly yellow straps lol)
This is the roots to his channel. Repairing , fixing equipment and his building. This to me is what we have been missing lately. Keep it going and the content up
The exact same thing I was thinking! I missed it a lot! And I think we need more longer videos again. Pleas keep making these videos like that Andrew 👍🏼
Hey, Andrew. I know you always want things done correctly. The voltage at the alternator should be at or a couple tenths + or - of 14 volts. Your voltage to the battery with the engine running should be within .5 volts of the alternator reading. If not, you have connection/wire problems. No way that amount of voltage drop is normal or acceptable. Dirty/corroded electrical connections, especially at the ground points will cause endless headaches. I recommend ScannerDanner's channel. He has good videos on dropped voltages due to corroded connections.
I replace lots of charge wires for this exact reason. Sometimes they get water runs down inside the insulation and rots a small spot deep inside the wire you can't see. Easiest way to check is to throw one jumper cable from the alternator to the battery and recheck your voltage. If it comes up to the alternator voltage you know that wire is bad. If you get good with the electrical tools it gets easier. With the engine running measure voltage between the alternator positive stud and the battery positive stud. You will measure the amount of voltage drop aka current loss in that wire. Shouldn't be more than .4v absolute maximum with all the lights and accessories on.
@@kinecty111 Yeah it was surprising the first time I saw it in one of my cars because I didn't think of a wire going "bad" but they do and its not apparent just be looking at them.
14:12 " That's slightly unprofessional but not unacceptable " Perfectly sums up about 65% of the repairs I've done in the bush . Gotta use that line now .
So, this weekend I rented a very small 2000lb excavator to dig some trenches for drain pipes. Operating these machines is way more difficult than it looks. Andrew makes it look easy and I got to say I have even more respect for him now. Just being able to load and unload these things is an achievement. This guy deserves every ounce of success he has coming. Btw, I got my drain pipes buried and it seems to work perfectly when it rains. Love this channel so much.
Andrew, I have watched a lot of your videos and man, there is nothing you can't repair or replace in your stock pile of equipment. You have the principle of the Marine Corp, adapt and overcome and you do that well.
Great video, Andrew! Gentlemen workers before me advised the best time to lube any machine was just after you finished your work. The joints are warm and take grease much easier. That also means the next time you use it, you already know the machine is greased and it's one less thing on your prep list. The young lady certainly knows how to operate that tracked dump unit. Always glad to see another video from you!
For the gas drip out the overflow line, check that the tiny spring loaded plunger that is on one end of the needle valve. Make sure that it's still there and that it works properly ----- The float shuts off the flow from the tank when the float rises with the bowl level and moves the rubber end of the needle into it's seat...if the the tiny spring doesn't return the plunger to full extension or if it's missing, bent or is stuck while depressed in the needle it will allow the bowl level to rise too far, thus the excess gas flows out the overflow line.
I don't know if you've noticed, but in the past when you would speed up your film and take your piece of equipment back and forth and back and forth over and over and over you can actually see the road surface start to sink in slowly and how you are sculpting the land with a 10 ton machine. I wish someone would splice together a bunch of your examples of that....I don't know how to. Great video as usual and greetings from Texas...John B
Hello! 🙂 The carburetor float valves sometimes have a little rubber tip on them and that ethanol fuel can degrade it and make it useless. It is best to replace it and the seat that goes with it. Use non ethanol gas after that.
Those magnetic parts trays are one of the best tools I have bought in a long time. You can stick them on a vertical surface and the parts stay inside (the metal parts that is). I found a set of 3"x3", 6"x6" and 3"x9" for $10 at Harbor Freight. I bought four sets. I have them everywhere.
I’m glad to see you have an awesome helper to keep you in line on your projects. She sure doesn’t back down from any job. The world would be a much better place filled with more Andrews and his helper.
Settling down for the evening and I see at the top of this video it’s labeled as #15 on trending. I couldn’t be happier for you and your success Andrew! I’ve been here for a long time and your videos have stayed true to your original style. Love to see it!
You camera work and production value is amazing and well done. It's your second calling, Andrew. I enjoy all of your videos even though I only know where to put gas into my car and windshield fluid and not really an interest in knowing more. But you make mechanic work look fun because you passion shines through! Thank you for all you do!
That view of your mountain retreat and the hills around it never gets old Andrew your a hard working and lucky lad. I see that you’ve been acquiring some new to you equipment, the tracked loader and the JD forwarder hopefully more videos to come 🤞🏻👍🏻🏴
Hi Andrew my wife and I really enjoy your videos. The Honda i have one similar to yours and it was dumping gas. cleaned the carb and still leaked replaced needle still dripped. Went to Honda they told me to get some scotch brite and a pencil shine up the seat and no more leak. Glad to see you using anti seize on the threads of bolts and blaster to loosen. I buy WD 40 and Blaster by the gallon with the spray bottle. You work hard be careful with your body jumping of the equipment it will catch up with you I know. If i knew i was going to last this long i would have been a little easier on my body, arms back knees ect. Beautiful country in your videos!!!
You remind me of my dad who could fix anything and everything, only you're half my age. I love seeing the dogs in the videos. It wouldn't be the same without them. Thanks for sharing.
From a guy that has an office job and hasn’t spent even 30 seconds inside any heavy machinery / thank you for these videos I’m sure curious and love watching the work 💪
I've taken apart Mikuni carbs dozens of times for this very same issue. Many times the needle seat is bad or the float starts to swell over time and there so little clearance between the float and the bowl housing that it just catches and doesn't allow the seat to fully nest and shut off the fuel.
Andrew thanks very much for the video. The drone footage was amazing. I'm "jelous" about that amazing piece of land. Amazing small mountain you have over there
I'm with you on performance mufflers! Quads and SxS's are loud enough as it is and yet people want to make them louder. I actually want a quieter muffler for my RZR xp1000.
@@edinstruction2011 Clearly you jump on any trend that you feel provides you with attention. Electric isn't there yet bud. No matter how bad the posers want it to be. The future might be a different story but not today.
Sure enjoy your videos the type of hard repairs. Across any spectrum is mind blowing. You sir are a rock ⭐️ can’t wait to see the progress on the mountain! Thanks for taking the time for use to see awesome in action.
Good to know how to repair small to big engines Andrew saves slot of money in the long run. You have a wide variety of vehicles to maintain in your fleet. Some older ones. Keep up with your great videos Andrew, love to see Cody and Blue with you all the time. Miss the chance on getting a Levi Memorial. If you still have any left I'll be able to buy one..
Awesome video Andrew. What an amazing young lady to have around. Another pair of hands and another host of mechanical skills to help get jobs done. Keep up the great work. Hope you don't have any long lasting issues with your knee mate
Thanks Andrew, looks like your leg's still giving a bit of trouble, great to see Blue getting bigger and more willing to give Cody a little bit of peace.
A good channel is one that doesn't have to put out videos every week. content instead of quantity. Andrew is the master of this. always leave them wanting more :)
Hi Andrew, I follow you from Italy ... I have seen all your videos, e on what you do, you can see that there is passion ... Beautiful dogs and all that you have built and congratulations also for the estate and the fleet. Keep it up you are a great ... Greetings from the Italian 👍
Nice repairs/maintenance, I still wouldn't expect that much voltage loss though, might need a heavier cable between the alternator and the cb. Brown pup looking great, growing well.
Thanks for another great video Andrew ! I just have to point something out to the ppl that have already watched this video....hitting the LIKE button only takes a second or two of your time and not only does it help Andrew put out more content but IMHO it also is a way of saying thank you to Andrew for filming, editing and posting these videos for all of us to enjoy. I don't know about everyone else but these videos are a huge source of entertainment for me and I thoroughly enjoy them. So thanks Andrew and come on peeps....Give this guy a like if you can. At this point there are over 4500 views and only about 750 likes. Say thanks to this good man. Peace to Everyone and Cheers Andrew.
Andrew, great video as always! Nothing better than waking up with a notification of a new video from you! Seriously you blow away 99.9% of everything produced by everyone IMHO. No fake drama, no BS. Question, in the start of the video you are working on the Honda ATV carb, were those harbor freight tools and if so, how do you like them? Then when you are vacuuming out the bulldozer it appears you have a shopvac and 5 gallon bucket as the collection base? What is this setup, I have never seen that done before. That is a fantastic idea for nasty stuff! Hope all is well.
Home depot has a vac called bucket head that uses the 5 gallon as the base. Simple and easy to use, but loud AF. $30. Good for messy jobs. If you want more functionality than that - look at the dust deputy for long time use.
I see you fighting with machine batteries often. Had an old stubborn 85 JD 210 4wd. Best advice I got from an old farmer friend is to hook the battery tender to tractor and zip tie it there on machine. I’m up north east and having a quick plug makes life so much easier. The tender keeps topped off and it never struggled again even in a blizzard. Love content!! Thanks for all you have taught me :-)
Hey Andrew I have a few vehicles that sit around away from available power and have found that solar panels & charge controllers work great to keep the batteries fresh for cheap. I couldn't imagine dealing with your many dozens of batteries.
Dear Mr. Camarata. 👍👌👏 Very well done again (video and work). You're definitely good with the drone. 2) Maybe putting some grease nipples on the pedal bases to lube the axle would help to handle the dozer. Unfortunately penetration oil doesn't last long as a lubricant. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you (including the wonderful dogs of course).
Your secondary plot is so beautiful Andrew, not as beautiful as your castle home but lovely none the less. It's lovely to see all the greenery great drone skills you have there and cute dogs 🐕 . Love watching your videos.
Some voltage drop is to be expected if there's a large current draw. You could reduce the drop by using thicker wires, but it shouldn't be too problematic.
Ideally the alternator output wire should go directly to the battery. You get quite a bit of voltage drop through that long wire that goes up to the ammeter then back down to the battery. I'd guess that it originally had a dynamo. It will still charge, just more slowly than if the wire went directly to the battery.
It's funny, when watching the 'I bought a mountain' video, it crossed my mind how many trees you were cutting down. This comes from a New Englander who has no really problem in doing so, but there was something in me that, for some reason, had a reaction to it. That opening drone shot just shows how it's only a drop in a bucket. Reminds me when my grandpa told me that in the 1700s it was 90% farm land and 10% trees but now it's flipped. Truly awe inspiring seeing the vast sea of green your surrounded by, and that you could double the trees you've cut and it'd still be twice nothing haha.
I had the same exact problem with my trx350, I replaced the float and cleaned the carburetor, then the problem mostly disappeared. Also had the shift pedal became loose, they all have the same problems but in my opinion are the most reliable ATV's
I am working on almost the same ATV for someone and they had taken out the air box and several other parts and couldn't remember how any of it went back in. I would have figured it out pretty easily enough but this video gave me exactly what I needed to know and I wasn't even looking for the info yet. Thanks Andrew!!!
For the electrical contacts, especially in that under-dash area, it would be advisable to use dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion. But I have to say, you do great work...
I saw 32:05 minutes on the time stamp when I started to watch the video, thinking that's a long video. When 32:05 rolled around, it was like. Wait, what, that can be the end of the video, it went so fast. Thanks Andrew love your videos!
Not only has your apprentice got some great engine skills, im assuming he shot most of this episode too, he has great cinematography instincts... you must be a hell of a mentor
Hi Andrew, another great vid. Daily viewer but I've been away from YT for a while (is that dog a Weimerreiner?) so CONGRATS ON A MILLION SUBS! Your "Fixing and Talking about Chainsaws" was my introduction to your channel and still one of my faves. You've really come along way and I want to sincerely THANK YOU for all you do and all you share. You'll be over 2 million before you know it!
It is another lab. I am not clear if Cody is the father but he was given one from a friend/breeder. The guy brought them over, and the other guy would keep blue. Blue fell in love with Andrew, and the dog AC was going to keep, Liked the breeder better... So blue kind of "Picked" AC to be his daddy! In the end, they switched dogs.
The Mountain Top Retreat road looks to be getting whipped into shape Nice job Andrew and Sam! Still waiting on your 2hr video drop specials you do occasionally. Also the Supervisors supervisor looks to be doing a fantastic job as well!
I just did this on my old Honda rancher. $30 Amazon carb and new petcock are essential. My gas tank needed a rinse too. Runs like a champ now with no choke needed.
As always a wonderful video curiosity is getting to me as to what you'll wind up creating on top of that mountain thanks for all the inspiration you make the world a better place thank you
Really enjoy how you start and end your videos My mom is 97 and she really enjoys your videos also . You never want to sell or advertise on your page that’s another Plus that we like and there’s always something different to see Looks like I’m just guessing but a Nephew is helping you and see was the Videographer this time and had him working for you hope he turns out just like you Glad I found your page on RU-vid ThankYou Andrew
Always great watching these videos. I had to write down that line, "That's slightly unprofessional but not unacceptable ". I need to remember that one.
You always look like your enjoying the hell out of yourself. That is so great. Your videos pick up a lot of people and maybe inspire them. old and young. Keep up the good videos.
