Great content! As a new owner who was unaware of these issues, this is a great help. I plan on flipping this current car to help get into a house of my own but I hope to own another C7 after this ownership.
Your vids have been very helpful and very detailed! Recently have purchased a 2014 Audi Q7 with the 3.0 supercharged engine. Was wondering if you have made a video of replacing the oil filter housing? I believe I have oil leaking from there. I have had no luck finding a good, clear and detailed video on how to do it. Would really enjoy seeing one from you as your vids are easy to follow and very detailed! Keep it up!
That would be awesome!! And very sorry to hear your car failing. I watched your newer video about it. When my car breaks down (something severe) it's always a very sad moment! Hope to see it back up and running soon!
I appreciate the heck out of this, even though I've got an 8R SQ5, it's still the same engine and I'm getting to a point where a leaking intercooler core (or cores) might be a thing....videos like these make me feel like it could be a DIY job since I'll need to get used to removing the supercharger at some point.
Thanks for this video. I have to replace my fuel pressure regulator that is right under the supercharger and needed to know how to remove this properly.
Absolutely love the straight to the points vibe of your video... everything is very well explained and you managed not to over explain or sidetrack. Greatly composed informative video!
Damn!Your vid plus ECS Tuning, this'll get me to do a fluid change for my 4M q7 supercharger fluid, change thermostat and possible pcv :) My only challenge is all the rear tubing and connectors are going to be a challenge due to the long front end and me being average height :P
Aye perfect timing man, I’ve been looking for good tutorials on how to do this due to needing to fix my manifold runner flaps so they aren’t stuck anymore. Thank you for the content, keep up the good work!🙏🏼
You need to make sure the flaps are pushed down as you reattach the intake runners or you will get those codes. Watch my pcv tips & tricks so to see what I mean.
@@AudiC7Owners I did watch the PCV video, great info on there as well thanks for that. It definitely helped, although I didn’t remove neither of the intake manifolds and remember all of the flaps being open when reinstalling the supercharger.
Awesome video, I'm at 85,000 miles on my S4 B8.5, and just purchased O rings for the intercooler and water pipe, and OEM cooler bricks. Are there any gaskets below the supercharger going into the engine I'm going to need?
Yep! You need the 6 gaskets that sit on top of the intake manifold flapper's (they seal the supercharger to the manifold) & you need replacement pcv return stack o-rings
Love your vids, as they make these projects a lot less intimidating...and saves anyone willing to take the leap a lot of money. Question... I'm on my 3rd B8 (2010 A4, 2010 S5, 2016 S5). All of them have reeked of gasoline when I sniff the oil cap. Research has told me that it's the HPFP o-rings. Do you have a video discussing/DIY to resolve?
It could be hpfp o-rings gone bad, but it could also be leaking injectors. I have a diy showing how to remove/upgrade your hpfp piston which shows how to take it off the car, but I'm unsure if there is an o-ring re-seal kit you can buy? Maybe post in the 3.0t fb groups asking if anyone knows of a part number.
Another great video😄 i enjoy taking the supercharger off but i remember you recommending that intake a few months back and ive been wondering what heat shield to use!
Cameron, thanks for the video. Seriously as always appreciate the channel. Even though I'm on a C7.5 A7, everything is almost identical, with minor differences. I have heard the installation of the SC is a bit more tricky. I know there are some "flaps", not sure what they are actually called, that must be in a certain position when you reinstall the SC. This honestly doesn't seem like a hard job at all. Any chance of doing an install vid on it? I know it is in reverse order, but my main concern is the flaps or butterfly valves or whatever they are called and how they should be positioned when reinstalling. I just don't want to have to pull it again just because something moved or got put in the wrong position.
Thanks man! The flaps are actually the intake runner flaps on the manifold housings you remove to do the pcv. Watch my pcv tps & tricks video as I discuss them there 🤘🏼
Helpful video. My b8.5 s4 just started intermittently misfiring in cyl 3 & have had some coolant loss. So I’m leaning to leaky coolers ☹️. Is this the same reason you removed yours ?
That certainly is a symptom of leaking intercoolers. Are you also getting an epc light? We also have a video on diagnosing 3.0t misfires if you want to check that out
Great video. Loved the info. I'm considering replacing the entire oil filter housing that's at the back since its slightly warped but enough for it to leak oil when its under heavy load. From what I heard, I should be able to remove the sc and it'll give me plenty of access back there to remove it. Can you confirm? TIA
Removing the supercharger is a must. I've never done this job, but I've heard it isn't easy. There aren't any DIY's on the 3.0t, but they're are a few on the Audi 3.2 V6 which is almost the exact same engine as the 3.0t. Good luck!
Cam, thanks again for this great video. I've removed the SC before, but this was a great vid to watch to remind me of what I did before. Do you happen to remember the torque specs for the SC studs when we reinstall? If not, no worries, I can look them up.
NVM, I decided to add a little something constructive, looked them up on ElsaWin and it says 20 Nm for the nuts (6) that fasten the SC down onto the posts (or threaded rods).
Question: will a leaking intercooler core cause white smoke to come out of the exhaust when a misfire occurs? The coils and the plugs have been change within the last year. Thank you! 2012 Audi A6 3.0T
Good morning Cameron i qot a question about the super charger oil how long is the life span i mean how often we supposed to replace what is the minimal range on mileage do you have any idea
@AudiC7Owners great vid man you make C7 ownership feasible for the blue collar workers haha. Wondering how hard it would be to do my own walnut blasting of the injection ports? I know shops can do it for $500-800 but I'd prefer to save the money. Thanks
I was thinking about buying a 2016 A8 with this engine. It has about 90,000 miles and a clean carfax, but these oil burn issues in seeing are scaring me away. Should I be concerned?
For some reason I cant get my serpentine tool and socket to get on the bolt, there isnt enough space, I have the same tool as yours? Any idea what I should do? Thanks a lot!
@@AudiC7Owners thanks man! Ended up getting it, fixed my stuck closed flap, but still hear a weird engine noise that sounds like something is stuck like its slapping against something, but not timing chain slap, Im thinking its one of the pulleys
@@AudiC7Owners thanks for the response . More than just a basic set of metric tool 😁. Only thing I'm worried about , would be the timing chain and tensioner project .
Please Help!!! I have a 2013 Audi A7 I hit a opossum last night going about 65 MPH busted my front bumper and it ripped the 3 pin connector out of my coolant pump. I purchased a new 3 pin connector each pin is numbered 1 2 3 but the wires are solid black. I have 3 wires dangling from the harness that goes to the pump the colors are solid RED, solid VIOLET, and RED with a WHITE stripe. Does anyone know what color goes to each specific pin number????? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So I have a question if I have the code p0306 misfire on cylinder 6 I replaced the plug and coil still getting that code but I'm also not loosing antifreeze would u say the intercooler core is still the issue or something else
I'd say it is worth pulling the super charger to look for signs of IC failure. It could also be from bad carbon buildup on the intake valves but that is rare
Anyone ever got a P050A code in their 3.0t? Research says it’s and Idle Air Control valve IAC. I’ve been researching endlessly and asked euro sites for help and they don’t seem to know. There is not one place that mentions the IAC but does mention the throttle body. I’m guessing the IAC I built into the electronic module of the throttle body. Any help is appreciated as I would love to find out what it is and replace the parts. Thanks!
I have an Audi a6 4f 3.0 tfsi in condition, it is restless even though I have installed a new spark plug and a new ignition coil, can someone help me find the problem?
Can you please tell me the name of the Coolant pipe where the little hose between the 2 coolant hose you disconnected is called. The nipple where the little hose connect to rotted off. Front want I see that pipe goes through the left and right side in front of the motor.
@@AudiC7Owners I am mounting it to a different engine, i am still figuring out the recirculating butterfly behind the throttle body but the engine I am putting this on does not have a port for the pcv return line which I am assuming it is a dump valve which I can just cold plug. Worst case I may have to modify the recirculating butterfly with a vacuum controlled bypass valve to open it during close throttle.
@@AudiC7Owners bro i have audi a6 3.0t supercharger . My car has a problem in supercharger . One of the sensors has been cut. Now my car is not full power. How can I change that sensation can i get your phone number ? Im in the kurdistan
