Nice Tutorial! I went and bought the newer XTRONS model (PE82A3AL) because of your video and either they watched your video or something but they included the antenna adapter and the harness if you have a BOSE system (wasn't sure but I plugged it in anyway as per their diagram) and it all works great. Your video looked like there were a lot more cables to connect then I had. Only snag with the new one, is that every time I put my car in reverse, it says no reverse camera available. I'm going to get a specialist to install the XTRONS camera as well as the dashcam (I've watched your installing reverse camera video but that's a bit too much work for me).
Very informative video, thank you. Just bought the XTRONS IA81AA3LH for daughters A3, you didn't mention anything about the additional wire joining of 12v feed & ground for the Bose System Amplifier Box? Did yours not have the blue AMP 12v cable out of Amplifier box that connects to Plug A Pin 1, & also a ground wire out of Amplifier Box?
Great tutorial, worked a treat, thank you. They give you all sorts of extra wires but mine plugged straight into car. However I had slight “alternator whine” so purchased their isolator and problem solved, works well with the BOSE system and steering wheel controls, lots to play with, loads of possibilities.
@@cmac329 mine definitely is not plug and play 😒 I have to use all the wires I guess, too confusing for me...... gonna have to pay to have it fitted. Bugger
Hi , I bought this screen as plug and play but when I connect all wires and turn ignition on, screen comes on for 2 seconds and then shows a message "shutting down" and then turns off. Doesn't come on again unless I turn the ignition off and on again. This keeps happening in a loop. Any idea what the issue could be? Xtrons said "Please connect the ACC wire to positive of your car cigarette lighter to check if it could fix the problem" I have no idea what that means 😢
How's the sound quality compared to stock unit? I see that you also have Bose (i presume the one with the subwoofer in the boot) - does it work? I have the RNS-E and i'm afraid that the sound quality is gonna degrade if i switch to this. Thanks
I’m not sure I have subwoofer in the boot but the quality is still the same but just slightly quieter no more than 5% from before or that could be just me. It might be the same.
Hi I really like your video thank you for that, I have the same Audi as you with the BOSE kit I put on the cable two groundloops and it's damages the sound quality like the sound with no bass nothing .. with your cable that you put between it at 10:55 , it's damages the sound or is it as original? Thanks again for your video bro
Hi, Great Video. Not being good at this stuff I just need a bit of direction with fitting of box to get rid of hissing for Bose system. Any chance someone could provide me with an idiots guide. Clearly detailing which connector goes where. Any help greater appreciated.
Did you loose the steering controls once you installed this aftermarket unit and also how does it sound compared to the oem ? And thanks for sharing massive help
Bought a full wiring kit from halfords and used my touchscreen pioneer from my last car. Although with everything plugged in correctly including all the wires properly connected in the right places and fuses checked I still get no power to the unit. Any help?
the electric part depends on the car manufactures year. if the car is before 2007 then you got an ISO cable. then you need to make a ignition cable, from the wirebox under the steeringwheel, to the radio. you have 2 power on wires (YELLOW must be connected to the ISO cable. and the RED must be connected to the Ignition cable. which you make from the fusebox) and offcourse you have a ground cable. if they are 3 connected properly then you should get an screen if still not check if you got any power on the cables. Red and yellow must be between 12~14.4v. and check the fuse on the radio! I hope you got more luck. feel free to ask.
Hi thanks for the video. The website says 450£ for this unit. Is it that expensive ? What about the same looking units on aliexpress that cost half the price ? Thanks.
Where do I tap the key 1 wire into for steering wheel controls. I have 1 key wire left and I can't program my buttons from the head unit. I have a b7 s4 with bose
@@nickushev the adapters I recieved were for bose and non bose cars. Not sure if I need a vag com to change button functions or if my key wire needs to be tapped into another wire
Hiya, I just installed a similar unit but a brand called Erisin. i have a lot of static and popping noise when there’s no music on or play around the menu. Will this xtrons harness work at all? Thanks
not 100% but i don’t see why not. Or if you want just ground the radio somewhere and it will go away as well. There are multiple videos on YT how to get rid of the static noise by grounding it.
hi. i have this head unit and its now not loading up and just gets stuck on the xtrons logo. do you know what i need to do to get it working, do you have a firmware update link? cheers
hey you tried to take out this radio ? i forgot connect one antena and now i have problems to take out this radio ps im not so happy about lcd quality for this money its really low level
Bro i got the new android 12 xtrons unit for audi a3 but cant seem to work the steering controls do you know how to wire it up or should it auto have it with the canbus it came with ?
@@nickushev thankyou I think I’m going to replace the Audi mmi with this unit, my speakers are Bose but I think they have much more potential with a better amp
