@@miyabe_k195 Except maybe someone who wants to drive without having to stop to drink water? Maybe? Oh right, no-one cares about hydration, thirst is the way to go.
Miyabe_K people who actually get takeaways from McDonald’s and kfc for example, if a golf has cup holders why would someone pay £200 or whatever it is for the cup holders in the rear and to get 2 usb slots in the back also? This is all standard stuff in cheaper cars. Major disappointment really
@@shroomyesc you know that the cupholders in the front are standard don't you? Only the ones in the back armrest are optional. So unless you drive in the back I don't think you'll have much problems with water. Oh and don't forget you have space for bottles on the doors as well.
@@aukustihalonenn Of course Audi has engines that don't work absolutely perfectly. Every manufacturer has better and worse engines. Though, the 3.0 TDI you get with the new A6 is one of Audi's engines with a rather good reputation, so there should not be a problem with getting a new A6.
As the life belongs to me, I do whatever I want. I actually don't want to give others excuses as long as I don't make them trouble. To let you both know, I'm not an Indian. Also, not from your country. I educate my self to achieve the wealth I expect. As long as I earn in the right and fair way, nobody should make it an issue. Good luck
Yeah sigh. Id say most of those third hand audis be a scruffy base model because people have poor taste and no appreciation youd be wanting something else.
Mate i have the 10y old version and it”s brilliant for the money i paid ! Its a v6 3L tdi with about 290 hp and 130000 and runs like new !! So ya fuck those Toyota or what ever Chinese KIA German stays German
Although I am an E-Class owner, to my eyes, the A6 is by far the best looking car in this class and I love the interior too. It's becoming quite a joke how many manufacturers have fake exhausts these days - you would think with all the money they spend designing & developing these cars that they would have found a better design solution - LOL! Great review, Mat, and I agree with your recommendations too!
Bullshit! This is very common in the car industry. Not everyone uses or needs cupholder all around the interior. Really a "big problem"..., isn't it? LOL
While speaking of that, Porsche charges extra for a rear window wiper on a panamera. I repeat, a rear window wiper is not standard on a 100,000$ car. (as we all know Porsche is in the same family as Audi and therefor it uses the same business model)
@@carwow hello Mat 🙂 i drive today 40 and 50tdi and c8 is better to drive whit 7speed S tronic in 40 than 8 speed zf in 50tdi imo; how it seems to you?
Just to let you know, Matt, the wing mirrors do automatically dip down when you put it into reverse, as long as you have the mirror that you want to dip selected on the mirror adjustment knob.
Lame comment. If I were churlish I'd say lexus just a toyota in a tarts dress. Jags a nice but they date so quickly and build quality is nowhere near Audi standards
Common climate controls on a touchscreen? No thanks. Just stick to dials. Pain in the ass to use a screen when driving, and will be even harder in that position.
Looks very nice indeed, and Matt was really scraping the barrel to find five things he didn't like. I have an A4 that is 3 years old now, one of the first of the current generation, and I'm happy to see that they've got driver profiles now, since that was my biggest criticism of my car - it has two profiles for the seat positions, but I thought that should be extended to things like the music selection, and at last they've agreed with me! :)
At "7:40", Matt you don't need to put one of the child seats in front so the person in the middle of back seat to be more comfortable, you just put that person in the front seat and the job is done.
Hey Matt Could you do a video how you get comfy in a car. I really have a problem with this when driving different cars but you must be an expert since you drive different cars all the time Thanks a lot :) love the videos
You want to jack up your under thigh support/the front of the seat (more like under knee support) as high as possible as if you're in a lawn chair. Gives you the most support/comfort
Yesterday I saw a new, black A6 S-Line with beautiful 20" S-Line wheels. Across the road was a G30 5 Series with an M Sport pack. Yes, I'm a big BMW fan, but that A6 made the 5 Series look so dull. It really stands out and it looks great. Now, that Bimmer had 18" rims I think and it was white, but yeah, new A6 definetly stands out(unlike the A8 which I also saw in person and I find it a bit boring and, well, not good-looking). Can't wait for an exec. saloon comparison!
Shut the fuck up, you idiot! Not everyone needs or uses cupholders on every part of the interior. Cupholders in the rear are not the most important things. With such things Audi maximizes its profit. Good for Audi! It's just the "German approach" to it..., you fucking annoying smart ass!
SJW Maniac the cup holders are needed, it’s bloody annoying not having any, you always have to hold any extra drinks and you also don’t get any USB ports in the rear.
@@Champik333 well yes, but that doesnt change that these look like cheap plastic in regular models, it is Audi and customers should expect quality on all models
You should realize how shallow and image-fixated the average customer is. To most people Touch-screens = Expensive High tech = High status = something they can show off discretely. Buttons look old and outdated to the average non-car-person. I took a course in product psychology. Most people (often subconsciously) choose the product that increases their perceived social status. Usually this means designing something to look expensive, not necessarily to look good. This explains a lot of modern SUV-design. Ugly and brash, but looks very expensive (Porsche Cayenne for example). That is the real reason why touch screens are so popular.
Well, the reason is that now, Audi make a whole lot of hybrid and soon electric cars. With this naming system, Audi can apply it to all their cars irrespective of engine type. So the new e-tron is called the 55, same as the A6 3.0 TFSI. The system is derived of how many total kW the car produces, but using kW ratings in itself is stupid because having the Audi A6 253 sounds bad. So an Audi "55" has between 245 and 275kW. As we all know, using engine size to distinguish between models worked well in 1987 but is completely pointless now. By that count, there should be like 4 different models all called the BMW 320i. Doesn't make sense anymore.
Yeah, when I saw the 40 TDI I read it as 4.0 and thought to myself "hot damn Audi is cool again". But alas, it's business as usual - sell cheap crap for a lot of money, somehow go bankrupt.
Get a BMW 330 and pop the hood. you'l be surprised. A 540? same thing. Mercedes e 300 a 3 liter nope. There are lots of cars with a number on the back which doe not give a hint whats under the hood.
@@interceptor-ss8kb mad or what?..non car guy😒...every automotive journalist has spoken abt this...and in the very first new audi a6 video mat did mention it
@@cartik4296 I'm not a car guy because I don't get excited because of rear lights 😂😂 you must be easily excited. I look far beyond what the lights do on a car.

THAT'S THE SAME PRETTY MUCH.
Need to review in estate / Avant mode really as that’s the biggest seller. I had A6 Quattro Avant from 2007-2011 110k faultless miles, brilliant in snow and so comfortable on long motorway trips. I see front/rear sensors are standard now, that’s smart as they are big old cars. Would very happily have another.
There's no way i will choose this over a 5 series and an E Class. 100 pounds for cup holders, get the f*ck out of here Audi. Even Mercedes and Bmw offer better kit. Piss off Audi. Vw brand
When i see the es300h video and the a6 .. clearly the ES300h is much more better.. why is there such an advantage for a german car clearly less good particulary on the design, materials, confort or finish ... at the final judgment???
@@aldod.6269 actually they didn't go all touch screen you have still volume knob and next track if you push it to the side. And aslo some other button's that aren't touch.
@@dkdanis1340 I want it to be fully controllable by the controller or both options as BMW does that gives u the opportunity to use it as a touch or with the controller. And the Climate controls, WHY they had to make them touch, that's the only reason why I got BMW because fysical buttons for the Climate and 2 ways to operate the Navigation System. The only thing that Audi did well is the "cockpit", the Audi's virtual cockpit is the best!
I'm sorry, but a front wheel drive sedan with no cupholders and fake exhaust tips ? I'd rather buy that big stick of truth from previous episode. With all those fake exhaust will be so embarassing when these diesels get old and start smoking black from underneath :D
My E39 has soft touch plastic under the steering wheel and felt lined door bins. The modern German car takes shortcuts so that you can have unnecessary bling (fake leather dash) and a lack of physical buttons. Boring looking car made for the Chinese market.
You can spec leatherette or leather if you want it I choose leatherette on the dash and alcantara on the seats because they are a nice but I suppose they are more environmentally sensitive too. Point is its choice
Just recently found your channel, and wish I had found it sooner. You make automobile reviews interesting and fun to watch. Too many reviewers take themselves too seriously. You're approach is ideal. I especially liked your review of the Mercedes E450, since I bought one. Looking forward to all your reviews.
2:37 wow the A6 uses manually adjust steering column even C Class has electronic adjustable steering column that’s awful when you have two people driving the car
Honestly the A5 B9 is the best looking and best performing in Audi's new generation cars. Think about it, huge upgrade from its previous A5 B8, it is a sportback which gives it that Coupe look, and it looks very aggressive and sporty. Would much rather have an A5, S5 or RS5 than any of A6 - A8
Correction - mirror will dip when reversing if you select the left mirror with the adjuster. Had the S-line Avant for 4 months and done 4,000 miles and love it. Black is also a good colour so no need to spend extra on the paint either.
Oh, an A3 XL for China? No? Then an A4 L? Still no??? An A6 mate! The one with the hideous and heavy rear design and the inoperable-while-driving touchscreens in soon-greasy piano black, hmmm lovely... double fake exhaust included 👍 Ex-ricers will love it, good job Audi 👌 Go ahead and buy... a BMW 5 series or a Mercedes E class 🤣
Sylvain Defranco what the hell would the make a XL model for all those cars when you can just get a A6? That doesn’t make since for them to make that many versions and it’s not going to sell crazy amounts of them
Matt, I really do respect your reviews, and I appreciate Audi cars. Unfortunately I couldn't even reach to midpoint of this video as there is sooo much cheapness in this car, which you have omitted to mention (you get sponsored probably, so u can't show the bad stuff), that with regret to say this is a bullshit review. You didn't comment on the awful exhaust immitation, but instead you got excited about a sideline edge... that's not coming from a car expert, right?
That is indeed! In Australia a base E-Class starts from 80k once you add luxury car tax (6k) and dealer delivery (4k) plus registration and stamp duty your at about $95,000 driveway............!
Great value for money, but the car doesn't stand out in any particular way. Yet a customer should just go right ahead and buy it? I like the channel, but you're always too high on Audi cars
Have owned the Avant version of this since December and I love it. I've had two of the previous generation A6 (C7) and the new model is a huge leap in refinement, dynamics and technology. Thoroughly recommended 👍
@Franc Martins yes mine did after a while, the only negative. It starting not long before I traded it in with Audi, so never bothered having it looked at
this car is ugly outside with a very poor design work and the interior is boring and look cheap and not good quality with many cheap plastics and a cold boring design. Audi have too much reliabilities problems and the prices are crazy.
I've now had my A6 14 months and covered just over 7000 miles. It has been back to main dealers three times where it had to have major headlight updates that took 3 days to complete. The rear near side door handle mechanism malfunctioned and had to be replaced, and my latest gripe is the noise and judder you experience in the car when making a manoeuvre that requires full left or right lock. I went all out when purchasing this car, it has Quattro drive full air suspension and four wheel steer. The reason for the car shudder I am told by both my dealer and HQ AUDI UK, this is to be expected as the diff between the rear and front wheels can cause this anomaly. Well nowhere in the handbook or was it ever explained to me when buying this car that this is the norm. I must also say that whilst the four wheel steer does aid in the turning, the air suspension does not warrant the extra expense paid on the vehicle. Overall I'm somewhat dissatisfied and disappointed with my car and perhaps after 2 A6's and 2 A7's it could be the parting of the waves for myself and Audi
@@SebastianStephanStan Well if just one exhaust looks bad then why put visible exhausts at all? As you said it's not a sports car so it doesn't need big double exhausts
A real bisexual petrol-head Have you had a look at the previous A6 C7 face lifted that actually has exhaust trims in the bumper. Still to see one with melted bumpers... 🙄
Audi A6 was a very good car. No doubt about it's quality. But then, my final choice would be BMW 5 Series. Absolutely brilliant to drive. I just like it.
@@carwow it sucks.......when I see a luxury car from side and front I get so excited and happy but as soon as they show the bumper......with a fake exhaust I just wanna cry.....and all excitement decreases from 100 to 50😑😣
No rear armrest cup holder, isofix caps you'll lose and no demonstration of someone squeezed in between the two car seats. VAG pr obviously had a list of things not to dwell on.
How come that the cupholders in this test car have a closing lid, while so far all I have seen in aluminium interior decor - were without one? Is it something added in 2019 model?
japanwatchconnection exactly! The engine in the audi is mounted in front of the front axle, awful for handling! The 3 screens may look good, but the only difference is that it is less pratical , its just a climate control gimmicky thingy!
This car I believe will be exempt as diesels made after 2015 are safe. I just hope the 2021 expansion to the whole city doesn't happen otherwise I'd have to sell my car as I can't afford a newer diesel
