Good Video, despite the Audio issues you helped me Diagnose an Issue on my SQ5 that I could not Find anywhere else on the Internet. You have saved me much trouble dealing with the Audi dealership. Thank you.
This worked for me. The only thing I would add is, after replacing the sensor. The car gave me another error code saying chip not coded properly. Even after erasing the codes the sensor wouldn’t work. To fix the issue I disconnected the battery for 30 seconds and it all started working. Thanks for the video!
thanks a lot, just tried this today on both my car and another friend that had the same problem, disconnected the battery for a minute and connected back and the lights started working again...did you ever have the issue coming back after this?
Great video had the same problem last night in the rain in aroostook county maine, middle of nowhere. So I youtubed this and did a variant. I nent into a convenience store and bought a can of wd40, I then pulled up the back bracket it slides right up and fits into grooves that it slides back into, make sure you get the body gasket on the outside of it to ensure its closing right. I own a Carista so I unplugged the wire clap to the safety clamp and then cleaned it really well with wd40 and used a few rags to clean the safety swtich and the lock on the doorside, it was filthy full of gunk. So my door was having trouble closing itself so on the way down gave it a good close. I then got inside and reset the codes on my carista in the OBD2 with my cell phone app. Cleared all the codes and the lights worked. If the lights or safety switch shown here has too much gunk or buildup it was causing a fault in the convenience group or "body exterior". Thanks for the tip it worked out well in a downpour and took about 6 mins to do!
I got lucky. I tested and one of the paddles wasn't triggering the switch. I took it out to take a closer look, and to also get the part number. I noticed a piece of sand that was keeping the one paddle from triggering the switch. Blew it out with canned air and everything is a go. Be sure to check for things like this if you live by the beach. I think I've only visited the beach twice since having this vehicle, but that's all it took.
hi i got a similar problem.... tail light stop working when i drive about 5-10mins... when i park my car for awhile their start working fine and turning off ... got the same light on the dashboard
Hello! Thanks for the video. Could you share the part number that you replaced? Is there a simple way to pop the trim off? I'm thinking of lubricating the part and unplugging the battery to see if that works first.
We’re you able to fix the issue? I just replaced mine and still issue is there. The center top brake light works but not the two brake lights on the side
@@rengamz Thanks for the reply, Mine i had to adjust the switch to make better contact with the hinge and I pulled the negative cable from the battery for 30 seconds and it works ( so far)
