I was chasing down the reverse camera not working on my B8.5 S5... lucky for me I also have an S4 so I was able to swap over parts to test. oddly enough I was able to fix it for free..
Thanks a lot for sharing the troubleshooting video. It’s the same issue happened with my backup camera as well. The trunk spring snapped the camera harness. I fixed it and working fine
did you happen to see and fix your issue? I have a q7 with a camera that stopped working. Is your screen blank when you put it into reverse or did it stay on mmi radio screen when camera wasnt working>?
this is most likely my problem as well..ive been having connectivity issues with my camera for months and it finally stop showing on my display. thx for sharing
Hello, first of all thank you for your detailed video! I have this problem on my Audi A4 B8. The image started cutting out intermittently and sometimes saturating like a as if a wire was moving or being cut. Please where was your black wire cut? Did you have to remove all the tape around the wires to remove all the black wire that goes from the module to the rear camera? Thank you for your valuable response!!!
Thanks heaps for this video. My issue is there is no video when I reverse. Unfortunately so far mine doesn’t seem to be a broken cable…. I’ve tested the reverse 5A fuse = 12V . Test the plug you said should be 6.5V. = 0V I have continuity between that 6.5V plug at the camera and the wiring running to the reverse module so I know the 12v wiring is good in that section. Should I just buy a working module and hope that’s my issue?
I have the same problem. I tried hooking up a battery connector I had that takes 4 AA batteries - 6v - probably close enough - and no image at the dash. I doubt the camera pulls more power than 4 AAs could supply for a while (new akaline). Might check the local pick u part boneyards. Sigh. I also have a cabriolet, and did the F202 sensor, and then the F171 went out. I am not impressed with older german electrics....
@@steamboat75043 have you scanned for codes? I’ve found the display for the parking assistant only intermittently comes on aswell. Makes me think it’s an MMI issue, though I did remove the camera module and took a look inside, there was a little bit of corrosion on the lower part of the pcb
@@Notanuffy I had pulled out the frame holding the modules on my 2010 s5 cabriolet but I was primarily concerned with the wiring for the roof module - all of which was ok - that needs the F171 sensor - which is on its way. I have a VCDS and this is what comes back (2/16/24) which is why I started checking through the wiring to find what you found. My parking assistant beeping has always worked. The guidelines show up and move with the steering wheel on the screen. When the camera did work sometimes it was slow to change back to the regular display once the car was moving forward.
