On the flip side, you’ll be made fun of by everyone else for embracing your culture. Given in most areas the Indian pop is small, u just gotta act and speak like everyone else to “survive”. And if you ever do go to India, you’ll definitely not be seen as Indian even if u fully embrace your “indianness” in the states. Why try to be part of a group that doesn’t even think u belong?

In High School so many people would ask me to do the stereotypical Indian accent, and at first I'd do it. I'd make them laugh and like me more but at what cost? Mocking my parents, grandparents, other family, etc. who worked so hard just to give a me a good life. Like I swear brown people in America need to respect ourselves and take pride in our heritage.
