If someone cracks a light hearted joke about stereotypes for example to a black friend who am I to be offended if he is not. There is REAL HATE out there a lot of it. We don't have the right to healthcare, we don't have the right to quality of life, we don't have the right to rest, or the right to livable wages or education. The answer to everything, EVERYTHING, is just "Work harder." Which, if you're disabled, like I am, is "Get fucked." The horse from Animal Farm, Boxer, said "I must work harder." Since democratic socialism appears to address those issues, that strikes me as progressive. A rising tide lifts all boats, and in the US it's like "Whoa, whoa, wait a moment: what if somebody ends up getting what they don't deserve?" Libraries are progressive policy. Who doesn't deserve the right to go to a library?

The problem is they heard the words “black” and “gay” and immediately got offended because everyone’s afraid of the truth these days smh. Whenever you mention a specific group even if the comment is positive ppl are gonna get upset because for some reason it’s deemed taboo to even speak of certain topics unfortunately. Those ppl have no sense of humor and really his joke wasn’t really a joke, it was honestly a real life issue that they just weren’t ready for.

I don't think so, plenty of comedians make fun of other groups of people all the time. The black people I know family and friends can usually take even some of the most stereotypical border line racists jokes. It's the other group the LGB whatever, look at what they are trying to do to Dave Chappelle. It's literally everyone is free for all except the LG community.

This feels very much like what Dave Chapelle does. Nimesh isn't just trying to bury something in the past and move on, rather he's trying to man up, rise upto the ocassion, dissect it infront of live audience,ruminate what went wrong, save his face and be funny at the same time. i think nimesh is much much better at navigating laser beams. chapelle used to be a genius at dodging them. now he gets hit every show, on purpose, because he knows it furthers his career. which is so strange coming from a guy who passed over millions of dollars for the sake of his own independence and morality. i have mixed feelings about chapelle. i really want to love him, i truly do, but it feels like he’s willfully ignorant at times and that’s the last thing a comedian should be. i’m not saying he isn’t woke enough, but at times he comes at social problems from an incredibly personal and anecdotal perspective instead of looking at the larger issues.

What I love about Nimesh Patel is that you're never sure if his contempt for his audience is genuine or part of the act. He never lets on. Nobody can work a crowd like this dude. Brilliant comedian.

Blame the previous generations. Boomers created the "every child is special" nonsense. Poor kids today are having to figure things out. But they really aren't that soft. Most of the people who served in Iraq and Afghanistan are millennials. That's not soft at all.
