"Audiophiles" are ridiculous ( and spend money on Silly things like cables)

I'm sure I will get an earful from all of the Macintosh Fanboys out there, but let's just say that a side-by-side comparison of most speaker cables and power cables makes no difference in the output of sound and cannot be measured in anything that humans could hear.
the obsession for the best stereo system makes a lot of people think that it's the only way to get the best sound, but it's just not true. You can get a great system for under five hundred bucks.
and buying a fancy power cord will not change the sound of your system. And buying fancy speaker cables will be negligible. when you get right down to it, sound is more than subjective. It depends on a lot of factors.
so I'm going to tell you how and why.

Yeah there's a lot of guys out there telling you about all the expensive things you need, there have to be a couple of of calling them out on their B.S. :) It's funny how long of a comment people will leave explaining all the different stuff they have listened to and bought over the years, but not one double-blind sound test on those cables to show for any of it. They will often just say I haven't heard their system or I don't know what quality is. But it's really a ridiculous argument because the whole point is to save people money. People like Lamborghinis and they catch on fire all the time. 😀

I assume that this offer is as genuine as the offer made by the flat earther to prove the earth is a globe. You'll make the conditions impossible to fulfil. Who's system and where? What is the control? Who is the judge? Of course no one has taken you up on such a stupid offer. You know full well that no one ever will then claim this as some form of proof. This reeks of dishonesty to me.

This video is the greatest! I just played my friends nylon string acoustic guitar recently (out of so called "tune" lol) I was tone hunting. I don't know too much about plugging in.. I have just been picking the thing up for 20 years hoping a sound I'm searching for will emit. Great video. I like where you're coming from. ✌
@carpo719
@carpo719 2 года назад
And before you type a hasty comment, as a random self-proclaimed audiophile that may come across this video, think before you type. Really consider what evidence you have that one cable is better than another.... Look closely I am not arguing that there is not better equipment. Believe me, I have sat and compared stereos for years. There are some amazing receivers, and there are some really bad ones. Same with speakers. But when you get down to things like power cords, you're gaining nothing for your system. Nothing at all. And when it comes to speaker cables, as long as you have the proper gauge and no interference with the circuitry it shouldn't be an issue. It's rare that speaker cables are not sufficient. Even if you are using regular Romex for electrical work. You might be able to pick up an audible difference in a $500,000 stereo system fully cranked up using special measuring gauges. But I haven't seen that much of a difference to justify the extreme cost. What I am saying is that people spend thousands of dollars on something and want to justify it as a good purchase, and that's fine. But there's nothing there. Except snake-oil. You look around at some of these guys sitting in front of their stereo systems, with bare floors and bare walls. No room treatment. And they pretend like they know everything about sound. It's a bit funny. And I only mentioned it because there are people pretending they know things they don't. Well I'm here to burst your bubble.😀 My stereo is just as good as yours. Prove me wrong. ( and I got mine all at Goodwill) I'm kind of half-joking here. Don't get me wrong there are phenomenal systems. But there are diminishing returns. And the source material is what is most important. The same thing happens with guitar players, often seeking 100 pedals just to find that one sound that evades them. And if they don't find it, they convince themselves they do. Because after all, we want results. We want to hear what we want to hear If you want to get a Hi-Fi system I'm here to tell you you can do it for under five hundred bucks. Hands down. You just got to look in the right places. And just ignore the tone Chasers. Half the time they're making up woo woo that has no basis in audible reality. And after all, we are after audio, not speculation. If it sounds good to YOU, it sounds good enough. Great video, music to my ears. I was an electronic organ tech in the 80s, very high end digital sampling church organs. We had one in a Catholic cathedral and one in a modern protestant church right across the street. Catholic church had marble, stained glass, etc. Great organ accoustics. The protestant church had carpet, 8' acoustical tile celings, padded pews, and drapes floor to ceiling. The Catholic organ sounded like God. The identical model across the street sounded like a calliope. No electronics we threw at it helped, very expensive reverb units, etc. Acoustics are more important than any other factor in a system. Cables don't matter at all unless the termination is bad or you don't have shielding where needed or not enough gauge on the speaker wires. They are completely insignificant other than that. But tell that to a flat Earther.

It's ridiculous to say cables don't matter they do. The people that post these videos know they are going to get views and the comments section is going to go off. The fact that the poster is advocating Bose and how good it was and he could hear things he hadn't heard. Bose had everyone tricked when they brought out the little cubes and Sub, most non audiophiles thought they were fantastic where in reality they had no mid bass and upper midrange. To my point, the biggest variable in this pursuit is people's ears, and this guy is a great example, on one hand he's saying lamp cord is just as good as a $1000 speaker cable and on the other hand he heard things that he never had on a Bose system which is fine if he can't hear the difference between that and a high quality system with affordable cabling and room treatment. Sure it's no good throwing cabling at an inferior set of flawed components in a bad room, but get good quality affordable components in a treated well sorted room then affordable cables can and do make that system sound better. As an example if you have listened to copper cables and silver plated copper or solid silver I can pick that treble sheen of silver it affects cymbals the most, depending on the system they won't always sound better but they definitely sound different. The most pertinent thing this gentleman said was about serotonin levels affecting what we hear and he is 100% correct, if you are feeling bad and have low serotonin and are feeling low, it doesn't matter how good or expensive your system is it's not going to sound good to you, in fact you would swear it isn't the same system you heard when you felt good, of course it is. It wouldn't matter what you changed when your low it still won't create the magic and this is where people chase their tails. It's pretty simple really if you can't hear a difference when you are feeling good don't buy cables, don't buy expensive audio gear but if you do and are confident it's not placebo , by all means buy good quality ( it doesn't have to be ultra expensive) audio gear and cabling and enjoy the music 🎵🎶 and don't get caught up in the never ending upgrade path, especially if it's because your system sounded off one day when you are low just wait until your serotonin is high and you are feeling good and the magic will be back. And don't be like me and get caught up in all the debate, all that matters is what you hear.🙏 Finally I think the poster of this video was high on serotonin when he heard that Bose radio 😊

Like with everything the law of diminishing returns also goes for stuff like this. If you do a blind test with a good mid to high range 'comsumer' speaker with normal cables there's no way the difference will be big enough to justify spending thrice as much. Same goes with instruments, if you buy a guitar that's over €1500 you're basically paying for bragging rights. It just shows how easily we're manipulated when it comes to arbitrary perceived status.

I agree that there is a certain degree of placebo effect. But, I have tried BestBuy 10$ cable and compared with 7,000 $ Nordost Valhalla2 cables, and there is a big difference in sound quality. You can listen with a much louder volume with my Nordost, but the same volume level with 10$ cable, you will get noise fatigue. You will not notice it unless you have a high end system.

Also, I never gives my opinions on the sound itself, as an electronic technician, I can only speak about how well a particular device is made, but how they sound is a matter of personal choice and tastes. As for the wires, as long as they are big enough not to mess with the signal, they're fine. US made marantz stuff, as well as anything made before 1979 is usually great, just like sansui,pioneer, onkyo, sony, from the same time period .
@gil3green

Well to each his or her own. A few contradictions as well. Example speaker wire doesn't matter unless ya got 20 guage which you may lose some bass. Either way, I love music and will always have some sort of system to listen to. Nothing beats a live performance though!

I have the same reasoning as you. Also what affects audio is adjustments of a turntable, cassette decks eg cleaning of heads with qtips gently with isopropyl alcohol, lube with head lube and demagnetized the tape path with a demagnetizer wand. The storage of records and tapes matters and placement of speakers and room furnishing. Also a sub provides the lower bass sounds. I am a vintage hifi fan when things were made in their country of origin well and affordable.

I'm with you. There's a lot of snake oil and over priced things. Gotta take stuff case by case though. For example, I added a power conditioner to my PC / Headphone setup. Didn't do much. For laughs, I picked up some heavy duty, shielded power cables off Amazon for $30 each. To my surprise, some of my gear did benefit. I wouldn't spend hundreds on 'better' power cables though. But it makes sense, if I'm using a device to clean up my power, then keep it clean to the system and avoid interference. Don't know about plugging them right into the wall expecting something to happen. Again in my case, this was a pretty busy system with a lot of wires close together.
@pennfootball71

Speaker placement and room the most important. You also need good quality speakers. Higher end cables are also used to tone control and EQ problems becasue people buy a lot of bad equipment and try to "fix" it after.

I I totally agree with everything you say in your video. I have a pretty decent sound system, using Amazon basic speaker cable, into a 30 yr old pair of tannoy speakers, a 10 year old marantz amp and CD player, the main source though is my 50 plus year old garrard turntable. Here in the UK guys spend a fortune on cables, including mains cables. Don't they realize that all UK plugs have a fuse in them . That's an inch long piece of wire the thickness of a human hair. What's the point of spending a fortune on cables if they all end up passing through this fuse. I suppose if you spend hundreds of dollars on cables you are looking for a difference and will hear one even if no one else can hear it. Great video.

This is my hasty comment ; ). Now that I can afford much more expensive gear than when I was 17, my hearing is limited to 15kHz tops. Nature is cruel. As long as you stay away from the real low end crap, modern audio from reknowned brands (not talking about hyped brands) is very good. With an exception of turntables. Modern turntables are only ok when you spend relatively a lot of money compared to other components.

Your comment is the Perfect comment, at least in my humble opinion, although I must confess, this comment was hastily typed. I cannot for the life of me understand why people engage in exactly what this intelligent man ( dare I type/write very intelligent?) describes as "Tone Hunting". This term encompasses the actions of over-the-top Audiophiles/Audiophools perfectly to me. Well done sir! I hope that you do not object to my using your term (Tone Hunting) in the future, as it really fits so well! I love it for its sheer simplicity! Going back to academia, a decent quality audio amplifier is Not supposed to influence/alter the original signal being passed through it in any way at all, with its sole function amounting to an increase of the input signal's amplitude, period. Amplify - enlarge the amplitude of the input signal by an order, or several orders of magnitude, (strictly dependent on the selected gain factor) and present the same exact signal, with the selected, exponentially increased amplitude, at the output of the amplifier 99.999% the same as the input signal. No coloring, no warming, no alterations of any kind, to the input signal at all, just simply an amplified, original audio signal. Without getting into too much technical jargon, such as: damping factor, slew rate, total harmonic distortion, intermodulation distortion/channel separation (in the event of a binaural (stereo)) audio amplifier, crosstalk, etcetera... The listening environment, just as you stated, is of paramount importance. The sound reproducers/speakers are equally as important as the listening environment is. I apologize in advance for this long-winded comment, however your "Tone Hunter" term ended up catching me up in just the right mindset, at the right time, about the right topic (a topic that is close to my heart). It is getting ridiculous, as of late, with the financial exploitation of perhaps unwitting consumers that may fall victim to buying "enter the name of the unicorn dust audio product here: ________", being presented/pushed as critical or important to in-home, accurate, sound reproduction, by nothing more than slimy snake oil salesmen, doing their very best to separate good people from their hard earned money for zero audible returns on their investment(s). Thanks for letting me get it off of my chest. I ended up writing a novel of a rant here today... however I do feel a tiny bit better now. Fred

Anything else is just money thrown out of the window. I mean speaker placement and acoustical treatment of the listening room will have a way,way more significant impact on sound than fancy high end cables. Although shitty pseudo budget "high end" cables which are eagerly sold by some store chains once in a while can realy f up your listening experience.

Man, spray some deoxit in your volume / pot meter... you will get rid of the scratching... spray it on your RSA and speaker connectors too and the sound will improve especially with that vintage stuff not having gold plated connectors. Truth is somewhere in the middle, my DAC interrupted when I turned on the lights in my room... it appeared I was using an unshielded RSA audio interconnect... replaced it with a " digital" shielded 75 Ohm one (costed 30 usd). Now, I can play music and turn on/off the lights and it sounds better too (yeah just a little). You do not need to spend ridiculous amounts on cable, but you will not regret having some basic quality stuff in place (often decent connections will oxidize less; oxidation can lead to high measurable resistance on the connector).

"GAS" - Gear acquisition syndrome. Something I and many others have fallen prey to in the music production hobby. i.e. Never being quite satisfied with the gear we own, always looking to upgrade or buy something new. GAS seems to plague audiophiles as much as hobby musicians -- though somehow I've managed to avoid it in my own hifi journey, where I've been perfectly happy with my Senn HD-600 headphones and studio monitors for decades, and more recently, a Fosi amp + Kef speakers/SVS sub. You don't have to spend a lot to get incredible sound -- though I'm always looking for new ways to make sound, which can be an endless rabbit hole. Thankfully the "woo" snakeoil hasn't invaded the creation space anywhere near the degree it has the music consumption world. The gullibility and lack of critical thinking in the audiophile world is reminiscent of what I see among conspiracists, religious fundies or political extremists. I understand your perspective on this and the very real aspect of diminishing returns, but when you reduce your argument to equating lamp cord with, at the very least, a few brands of high end cables that I have experience with, it undercuts the issue! Tone chasing is an aspect of the audiophile, and is not necessarily a bad pursuit, who wants to tweak their system to satisfy their personal idea of what reproduced sound should be like. I agree that far too many cables are extremely similar in their performance, albeit within certain parameters. Some cables can mask detail, or accentuate certain frequencies or even suppress them in some cases. What I have found over the several decades of experience with a vast array of gear and cabling, is that the company’s that actually utilize technology to enhance the ability of the musical signal to be transferred between components with the least amount of damage done, are definitively superior. Transparent Cables can provide an easily discernible improvement in most systems and you absolutely do not need to get their megabuck versions to hear a difference that can draw you into the music. They provide a dramatically reduced noise floor, increase dynamics, improve definition and control and allow the music to relax and sound closer to real instruments being played right in front of you. It is addictive and a valuable tool to utilize if maximum enjoyment of your music is a priority!

About a year or so ago I was personally interested to hear the difference between two affordable single ended interconnectors. One I already use a Van Damme and purchased a Sommer Cable. It's in everyone's reach its not big bucks. The Sommer cable was sent back, it sounded shit. Cables do sound different from each other they really do. Where the real issue is the highly over inflated prices. Now I have banged on about two sets of interconnects that will cost you around about $25 each but just to let you know I do own more expensive interconnects. Basically what I am getting at is sometimes a relatively affordable cable will actually do for most folk and there is a clearly noticeable difference between them. Look I gave one of my brothers a Cyrus 2 integrated amp with its PSX Power supply okay and he could not tell the difference between using the PSX and not using it. Now I can clearly hear the difference, its subtle but it's their and it is happening, it does not change the character of the sound it cleans the sound probably by reducing the s/n ratio so stuff sounds a bit more separated. I shall tell you where there is a massive problem in the HiFi World and that is when a dealer/shop/distributor lie. Now back to the Sommer Cable, the dealer said it needs running/burning in, well he forgot to consider that me being the customer I can get in contact with the manufacturer of which I did and they let me know that the actual Sommer Cable that I had purchased has no need for a running/burning in time, it is ready to go.

Shielding on speaker cables will ruin it yes. BUT to make Bass you need bigger speakers and they are heavier need more "stuff" and cost more. Most speakers made from MDF or wood stuff have restrictions and reflections and you can only couple the driver to them with so much torque before they strip out. Metal speakers you can have more secure parts and stronger cabinets. T6 grade aluminum stuff is harder to make and costs more.

With all due respect... You may be a musician or a self profound "recovering audiophile", once You experience a system which delivers emotion, You will notice that every subtle change makes a difference. I am not saying that ,,,$100k is better than $10 cable, but it depends on the system. It's all about synergy. If You take Your hobby seriously, go and visit somebody who has the means to change Your oppinion. Your $1000 dollar system analogy is spot on but "those speakers don't have good bass" on them. But I've looked at the science on cables. And I have ears. I have gone to people's house that spend a hundred thousand on their system. I've swapped out cables between components, just doesn't change the science of electricity. Reaching some "level" assumes that thirty years of listening to music and research means nothing compared to somebody who owns an expensive system and already believes it it better Subtle nuances could just be Placebo. If it's not measurable it doesn't exist in my view. Good cables do matter. But only the gauge. Electrons flow the way they flow. Speaker cables matter slightly more, the power cables do not. There's a lot of snake oil out there, and folks just claiming you can hear the difference doesn't make it true. I need evidence. This is why most audiophiles will never do a side-by-side blind comparison. They're scared because they know it's a lot of BS out there. By now you would think there would be dozens of blind tests proving people can hear these things. But there are none. :) In all respect of course. I would be glad to be proven wrong but I've looked

@@estonianpunk the gauge of a cable absolutely makes a difference. Hands down. That's because of the carrying capacity of the wire. But for example if you compared $20,000 speaker cables with a pair of lamp cords, on an average system, it would be extremely hard to tell the difference if not impossible. This one simple test, which I have seen performed and failed, tells me what I need to know. There is a lot of placebo going on.. (Side note: no stereo system can deliver emotion. That's a subjective experience)
@estonianpunk

@@carpo719 You are right, it's all about taste. I get emotion out of the system when there's fluidity. Sometimes when a system is dull and sterile I can make it more lively by changing cables. In My apartment, I have aluminium wire coming to the wall socket. Because of poor quality power from the start, different power cables make a big difference. You don't need to buy ultra expensive cables to get a good result. There will always be people who can afford the ridiculous prices and in a very high end system if the extra 1% is needed, then those expensive cables can deliver. Luckily, I have a friend who mixes and matches snake oil company parts and hardware store cables with aliexpress knockoffs. His diy cables outperform really expensive HE power cords. Speaker cables can make a difference in soundstage depth and width. DEATH's "Voice of the Soul" has a slight guitar crunch in the left channel in the beginning. If I use copper wires, the crunch comes almost from the speaker directly. If I use pure silver speaker cables, the crunch comes from way further behind and more to the middle. On the other hand, if I use pure silver digital cable with My CD transport, music sounds sterile and sharp, cheaper copper digital coaxial cable gives that "fluidity" and makes the music more enjoyable. I won't argue with placebo and blind tests. Absolutely, your mind will trick you and deceive very easily. In My experience it is better to let something new in the system to settle in and in a few days your favourite songs won't lie to you. Hope this helps. All the best ... /;;/

One test will prove anyone wrong: Listening (blind) A/B test carried out ten times and controlled by an audio engineer not known to the one taking the test. And of course I agree with you! Also, most tracks/songs from the recording studio and/or from the mastering engineer has been treated with a low-pass filter, and that is often around 16Khz - 18Khz. So any speakers that specifies above 20Khz are not worth the money just because of that. The same goes for the bass, it usually has a high-pass filter set at around 20hz - 50hz. What has been cut out regarding high and low frequencies from the mastering studio is not there, and so you can buy whatever audio system, speakers and gear you like, but it won't get those frequencies back, ever.

Not Marketing nonsense and the high end club that has made me leave many years ago. Cabling and accessories are out of control. All hyperbole and so on. Just thoroughly pissed off the haters and club haters. Someone need to clean the controls. Probably needs to be recapped and re biased and reset for DC offset and so on. You have to be careful of brand bashing. Remember they satisfy a customer all over. I gave up on Goodwill because now they gouge if not just steal the gear. That is right. The radio shack speaker you held up had quality drivers by peerless, and scanspeak. High End is all high priced tax but you would be surprised the narrow margins they truly have. Ok - we can all agree that there are a lot of ridiculously high prices on higher end Hifi - catering to audiofiles who have some type of addiction in their hunt for better sound. And there are quite possibly also rich people who use expensive hifi equipment as prestige objects to show off, more than it is actually about the music. But that said - of course you can hear the difference between different cables, once you get above a certain level of amplifier and source. You need to balance out the quality of cables with the quality of equipment you have. And if you search amd use your ears - you might like I did, find an experienced cable builder in eastern europe, who can build cables that rival the expensive companies, in hifi quality - but at a fraction of the price. So this hobby is also an exercise in discernment and patience and using your senses - trust me, your ears can improve, like everything else with practise, when you over the years have listened to more equipment and have more references. I welcome anybody to come visit me - and I´ll disconnect my thick eastern european made power cables - and put standard power cables and a standard powers strip back on - if you cannot hear the difference - then I would worry for you wandering the streets alone without a hearing aid - cause you clearly need it :) Just try to get the best parts and cables within your price range - synergy and experience from other hifi nerds can take you along way here - use the second hand market a lot - and test things out as much as possible. And most important - don´t get butthurt if someone can afford a better quality system than you can, as this youtuber clearly is - be happy with the advances you can afford to make in your system - and enjoy your progress and whatever level of music/sound you can achieve!

Solid core wires work better if not same as expensive cables. Skip the connector bare wires. Follow IACS standards on conductivity.

Some people just like to tweak around a bit ' if you got the money to splash ' no problem '. When you go up in the audio chain with speaker cables you do hear differences but the more expensive the more less you hear '

I love to tweak my system I always get different effects but it usually has more to do with room treatment or speaker angle, music is so complicated as long as we live the music that's all that matters right

I think you're comments are ruffling my feathers. I like music and hi-fi. I am 62 years old. I like all sorts of music. I have a valve amp. I like, Slade, ELP, Dylan, Tomita, Nurse With Wound. I've got a Bose wave radio in my kitchen. Gong, Cotton Casino, Aldous Harding, Yello, XTC, Jowe Head, Fox, Billy Ocean, Nina Simone, (we don't have 'Romax' in my country) I have lots of different wires and cables. I have found they all change the sound. I have 7" singles,12"singles,CDs classical music - Mousorgski, Shubert, Chopin, Debussy. I have single driver speakers with no crossovers in. I have tried many different cables to wire my speakers. I do not spend 3 or 4 hours in a day re-arranging my stereo. I have my Stereo in my front room. I have one car. I have tried cannabis in Amsterdam. Oh Oscar Peterson. Jamie Saft. I have recently bought a book by Paul McGowan called The Audiophile's Guide purely to help me with speaker set up in the room. I have found DNM cables work really well in my system. The word 'Audiophile' has a negative vibe. I do love music and how it soundz

I suppose my point was that we all like what sounds good to us personally, and since there are no double-blind studies to prove that one cable is better than another it's better to help people save money if I can.. No musician has ever sat down and actually guessed right between speaker cables at the same gauge. Given, if it's not the proper gauge you won't get the proper flow. Ultimately it's about spending as little as possible for the maximum benefit

Placebo is totally denied by audiophiles. It's, yea I understand what it is (but it don't happen to me cause I have 30yrs of listening exp.) And diminishing returns, happens really quick. I've found cables to make a very, very small change, probably more placebo. Use ohm's law and figure what your speakers actually draw and you'll see how small spkr wire can actually be. Power cords, wow, there is snake oil to the max. If you understand how electricity works and how the gears power supply works you'll understand. 40,000 on a power cord???? seriously???? 99% of high end audio is eye candy not sound. How 30yrs listening can make you hear what can't be measured is so stupid. I've been doing math for 30 yrs so I'm faster at calcs than my computor, yea. If you got the money and enjoy playing with gear, great, but don't try to make me believe someone has Superman hearing.

You really don’t know much about audio. I agree with you, if you buy cheap crap like marantz and Sansui, then yes, nothing will help shitty sound. Buy quality equipment, then everything matters. Same goes for cars, you don’t put Toyota Corolla tires on a 992 Porsche, or your $200k Porsche will handle like your cheap Corolla. You really need to do your homework before producing videos on audio equipment

You haven't made a single point nor a claim, are you saying something? Like everyone else in the comments, if you look at them, you will find that you have no leg to stand on nor any double-blind studies to go by.... . We aren't talking about cars, I've heard plenty of expensive stereos, and driven expensive cars, but that's not the point.. I've been listening to music for 47 years and I'm sure I know just as much as you do about sound so don't pretend you know more because you're some kind of "audiophile " we both know that's a delusion That stuff makes me laugh. Electricity works the way it works and does not care what kind of ideas you make up about expensive audio cables Show your scientific evidence or move along. Perhaps you should do your homework before claiming you know what you're talkin about no offense. It's hilarious how many people this video triggered, and all I'm doing is asking for evidence. Not one person has any

To me i dont care about the system, what makes me an audiophile is the pressings I buy of the music I want. I look into where the music was pressed, who cut it and what makes it different than the other available versions.

Hey, I love VU meters, especially blue ones. Yeah they are useless but they look cool and retro. I always used zip cord for my speakers until I bought some of those humongous copper Monster Cable speaker cables back in the '90s. It's funny that the cable was the thickness of my wrist but terminated in a pin the diameter of pencil lead. Then I moved on to AudioQuest for interconnects and speakers. After a long interlude of downloads only on the computer, iPod, and iPhone I got back into hifi last year. Now it's inexpensive but functional cables from Crutchfield or Amazon. It's strange that the audiophiles cringe at any tone controls but think that raising speaker cables off the floor will have the same effect. But if you look at the hardcore headphone guys they actually use equalizers to customize the sound to their taste.
@carpo719
@carpo719 4 месяца назад
Yeah I suppose it's personal taste, some people get really sensitive about it. I always use my tone controls. Depends on what I'm listening to, it seems like a lot of people aren't into the music they're just into the sound which is weird to me

I think everything in this video is correct with budget systems. As you go up to the higher end stuff it does all get very revealing. you say at one point that cables dont matter but then go on to say that shielding a cable does change it, can be worse. so if shielding chan change it then how a cable is designed can change the final result. As long as we are all happy with the outcome, that what matters
@carpo719
@carpo719 6 месяцев назад
Now that I can agree on. As long as we are happy. But that does leave the question of whether shielding is necessary for most people, or at what point the cost adds no actual Sonic value to the system
