Austin's degree is in music theater - long ago I saw the play and Austin sings it better than the one I saw! Sebastien is such a talented musician. I don't know if you noticed how he kept a constant watch on Austin to ensure he was playing the right phrase and pace. They're dynamite together. Their rendition of "Tears in Heaven" is a two hanky listen. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
That was a very beautiful rendition. This is from the musical Les Miserables. "Bring Him Home" is a very hard song to sing but Austin nailed it. He has a great voice for musical theatre songs.
This song expresses how I felt some years ago when my “little boy” was getting shot at in Iraq for a year, and all I could do to help him was pray. I wished many times that I could have taken his place, so he could be home to be daddy to his 1-yr old son instead of me trying to play daddy! Austin “killed” this song, as he always does!
If anyone can watch this, especially for the first time, and not get emotional, must either be deaf, or a robot. He sang, and Sebastian played so beautifully and with so much heart and soul. I’m not super religious, but this song (and a very few others) get to me. Home Free’s cover of “How Great Thou Art” always gets me in the feels. Of course, the video scenery adds to it. I don’t think you’ve reacted to that one yet, but I could be wrong. It’s one of their viral videos from late 2016.
This and his rendition of Unchained Melody stole my heart. I grew up on this play. I love Austin. His voice is magical. I follow him and his wife on another channel too. His funny sweet pieces to her on his youtube channel are wonderful as well. Delve into it. I think you'll enjoy them.
Thank you RHN for your rreaction. Home Free is phenomenal because each of them are so incredibly talented. Many of us are superfans. I'm no longer on facebook, but I am on the IG superfans page. They talk to us like we are family. We've seen the ups and downs. There is no hubris among them. Amberly is a beautiful young woman, but we see her with no makeup on,sweats & tshirt. We cry with them, laugh with them and see every day life. It makes the prince & princess close to our hearts. Thanks again,Red! Next time we say tissues,be ready. ❤😊
Austin sings with such emotion and he sounds amazing, I love his voice. You should check out his covers of tears in heaven and I'm not supposed to love you anymore
Thanks so much for your heartfelt reaction to this amazing rendition. It makes me cry every time. There is no way I could have maintained if I had tried to discuss the performance as reactors do. Very nicely done! As Teresacartwright5406 pointed out, Tears in Heaven is another amazing and emotional one by this duo.
The only song that Austin sings that makes me cry more than this one is Tears In Heaven. He is an amazing singer with so much emotion in his voice and in his eyes. Stunning! ❤
This song is one of musical theatre's finest moments, and Austin and Sebastian lived up to its legacy. So beautiful. Sebastian is an A+ accompanist, and not all pianists can claim that exacting talent. Austin's voice is so pure and controlled. Wow. I've mentioned it before, but one more time won't hurt -- Austin's "Georgia On My Mind" is a must-do! He takes on another legend and nails it! Love your reaction to all things Home Free! Keep going!
Every parent who ever sent a child off to war is represented by this song. I don't know how many times I've heard this song now. It makes me cry every single time. For reference, Les Misérables is a French novel by Victor Hugo in the 1860's. The story is set during the Napoleonic Wars. The singer is the character Jean Valjean who is praying to bring home the boy he loves as if he were his own son. Sebastian is so good with his placements in the accompaniment that you don't realize just how good he is. That ending is stunning too! Not only did he end it on a high note, he actually did a crescendo! I think it went from one note to a slightly higher note but I'm not musician enough to tell. Spectacular!
Austin has such an incredible voice! Love this so very much. This is the reason the makes Home Free so unique. They can all do solo projects beautifully and when they perform as a group they blend so well together. Absolutely love your reaction! ♥
You can't ugly cry because it comes from Your beautiful heart and so but the ugly cry is what makes you. beautiful. I will be totally honest and transparent I can't explain it when you cry, I cry I seem to feel through you !! You are so incredibly beautiful inside and out and is why we ALL love you Red❤❤❤❤❤#austinbrown #reaction #unchainedmelody #homefree #reactionvideo #redheadedneighbor
There is something in Austin's tone that gives me the goosies every time. When Austin sings, you can hear and feel the love and the passion he has for singing.
You put it perfectly, they are kind of like the Home Free Prince and Princess right now. So many songs dedicated to their meeting and their love. It's so sweet and any woman would love to have their man singing about his undying love for them. His heart is on his sleeve.
This is why Home Fries are so fiercely loyal. As a group, they draw us in with their dedication to us. That loyalty follows into their personal channels. They are so very talented, yet, instead of them becoming egotistical, they remain humble, generous men who are sincerely grateful to be performing for a living! I love your reactions! Keep up the wonderful work!
When I lived in Jersey in 1998-2002 (during 911 I was on the shoreline loading the barges for the firefighters while Manhattan burned) the first show I watched on Broadway was Les Mis. I got front row center mezzanine seats. I have always loved this music (though stars is my favorite). Austin kills it and his last note jumps up higher than the original artist taking it to a new level. Thank you for sharing this classic we all love!
I've listened to Austin sing this live, and have also heard him sing it on RU-vid, in different recorded-live versions of it, with at least three of the group harmonizing with him. It doesn't matter which way he does it, it's always wonderful. Every time I hear THIS version (not even going to try to remember how many times), these days, I keep thinking, "Wow! Wouldn't it be wonderful if he and Dan Vasc would sing it as a duet--switching back and forth with the melody and harmonies. I think they would blend WONDERFULLY together, it would be totally wonderful! Either that, or Dan could sing "How Great Thou Art" along with the whole group. He has talked about doing an entire "metalized" traditional hymns album, and if he does it, he figures he'll put THAT song on Track #1. I can just hear the six of them singing that song...oh...my...word!!!
I love the way Austin Sings you can just know that he feels what he is singing like. He is going through that pain. All the guys in home free when they're singing a song. They're not just singing the word the feeling the words. So red, you might as well just keep that box Tissues in your studio at all times you never know when you're gonna need it when you're reacting to a song, especially Reacting to HF or the boys.
Chills and Tears every time. Austin and Sebastien are so outstanding together. I agree with the others on here you need to see them do Tears in Heaven he also has a song with Makena Hartlin Never had a Dream Come True it is mind blowing which is in the title.
Or Adam's Far From Any Road, with percussion and strange noises by Adam Rupp. As a Willy Nelson fan, RHN would enjoy Adam's Pancho and Lefty, which really brings out the strangeness of this iconic song.
At the start when you said you did not bring the tissues I was thinking, STOP now and go get them. Your gonna need them. Hope you enjoyed it. Austin did a Valentine's day song/ video with Amberly a few years back that is cute, romantic and very funny (to me anyways). Definitely a bit lighter and fun.
I love the way Austin sings this song it’s so beautiful ❤😊 You have done Austin and Tim solo works but there is one more member that does solo work also and that is Adam Chance his genre is more Folk, country and sea shanties but I think you would like his solo work also his collaborations with The Hound And Fox If I Could Only Fly Drivers License Song For Home ( original) The Man Who Can’t Forget ( Thom’s Song ) With The Hound & Fox Wayfaring Stranger ( Johnny Cash ) Ones with Chance on The Hound & Foxes channel Sound Of Silence Hurt ( Johnny Cash ) Whistling Lad
I don't think he did much musical theatre as such after college. When he went on to the cruise ships, they mostly do excerpts or single songs, and after a few years he was promoted to lounge singer. Personally (though I know he would deny it) I think he would have been happier in musical theatre, and more successful. His acting is great and he has a very winning personality. Still, we are where we are!
As a Les Mis fan, I was leery of Austin doing this... Even though his voice is great, I was doubtful he could pull off this challenging, wrenching piece. Silly me! He just SLAYS this piece. He knows exactly when and how to phrase every note, every word, every crescendo, every decrescendo. I was absolutely stunned. I think this is Austin's flagship solo work. Great reaction... I'm not at all surprised you needed to get tissues!!
I sometimes wonder if this humble man really grasps just how talented he is. I also wonder how many times this classic song has been performed with a big ole' rack of fishin' gear in the corner of the room.
When Austin started his solo channel during lockdown, he was so unconfident that he was really surprised at how many subscribers he got. He was unsure about putting Unchained Melody on his channel because he wasn't sure it was good enough! I hope the last few years have proved to him that we love his voice. His lovely original songs just keep coming, but he is a talented arranger as well.
Can't say you were not warned on the tissue issue. Glad you finally got to this one. One of Austin's finest performances IMO. Not my favorite song but with Austin doing such a heartfelt rendition of it I now love at least this version as Austin put his heart into it and tore a little of mine in the process. I'll bet I've listened to this 25 or 30 times and I have appreciated it a little more each time. Thanks Neighbor, another great review. Sorry about your makeup! Some things have to be sacrificed for the greater good!
You needn't apologize for the music affecting you - although we DID warn you! Listening to it is hard enough, but watching him, his face, his entire body just compounds it. He is a skilled musical performer. Now on to Chance!! Maybe his cover of Poncho & Lefty, or his collabs with the Hound & the Fox of Wayfaring Stranger and then Sound of Silence. He did a great cover of drivers license, too.
Great reaction. You need to react to Adam Chances channel, He sings a Johnny Cash song with Hound and the Fox, singing Wayfaring Stranger it's beautiful. All the guys have amazing voices
No you don't need make up.like I said your naturally pretty😊 That was a tear jerker.😢 now try something fun. Dawghouse One is a short version with his wife it's good fun. Also hers ain't mine also fun.😂❤
If you ever have the opportunity to see the Broadway roadshow of Le Misérables, GO! There is a reason that people become lifelong fans of this musical.
Hi, Red.........don't you think nearly ANY musical performance is better when done a capella or, at least, with minimal instrumental accompaniment? I think a capella groups evoke more emotional reactions from listeners, due to the undiluted vocal impact........
Wow, Yes i'm subscribed to Austin , Tim and Chris Rupp, I forget if I'm subscribed to Chance. I have never found a page for Rob but I will keep took. I have found some video's from Adam, One on the nomonica that is really good. Love the page that Austin and Amberly havre together.
For more Austin I suggest “Empty House” and “I want her back”. Sebastian produced and Austin sang these for Ressurecsis’s songs. Another facet of Austin’s singing. Ressurecsis says Austin sings emotions.
You should never listen to the group HF or the individuals without tissues. You can never tell when you will need them. Either for heartbreak or humor.
Red, I have been waiting for the day to come that you reacted to this song, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I have watched many, many reactors review this and other songs that are equally soul-touching, and can say that I have been thoroughly disappointed by the multitude of fake emotions I have seen. Many reactors have lost me as a follower for just that reason. The "corner of the eye dab" with a never-ending smile on their face is a joke. YOU, on the other hand, have an appreciation for music that I will continue to listen to...from the tension in your face at just the right time to the cracking of your voice, there is little doubt that you felt and experienced every single note of this song. I am a fan!
Please do "tears in Heaven" next, but have a box of tissues nearby. He is just so incredibly talented. I fell in love with this song all over again and Les Miserables is one of my all-time favorites.
A really nice rendition, and your reaction WOW! I totally understand your reaction, it’s just a beautiful song. I’m a bit of a fan of Les Miserables, the singer who I remember was Alfie Boe, he was accompanied by Claude-Michel Schönberg its composer on piano. See you later when you’ve sorted your makeup out 🌹
Red, while I'm glad you loved the song, each time there was a pause the mood was broken. I was singing along with Austin and then the pauses, it's very hard to concentrate. This one absolutely deserved to be left alone. If you ever decide to react to How Great Thou Art, if anything, please don't say anything and reflect on how Almighty God is! Please understand that I'm not mad just wished nothing was said until it was over. Certain songs deserve silence or to sing along. Hope all is well.😊
