Bloody love all these old games ,how the Australia were dominant back in the1980's, now we in the 20th century they still dominanting the BEST GAME OF ALL RUGBY LEAGUE
So many great players on view on both sides. Doubt us Brits will see the likes of A.Gregory, Offiah, Hanley, P.Ford etc again and that saddens me. Meanwhile the Aussies just produce true quality for fun:(
The low attendance for this game was partly a consequence of the thrashing GB received in the 2nd Test but also hugely inflated ticket prices at the new stadium in Sydney. Many people weren't prepared to pay it.
I remember this game, the Aussies were ment to Romp the Traveling GB side,Theres no such thing as a weak Aussie team but shit theres some good players in that Pom side, Kevin Ward and Andy Gregory I rate those buggers.Offiah and Gill your always gonna score if they are in your team, they had a good pack with finishing power out wide.
@montezumasrevenge it was played on a saturday afternoon and the ARL were slow to realise that saturday games didnt attract crowds. You'll notice tours after this one the tests were played at night and crowds were much better
We need to get back to normal seasons so we can have proper tours again. Summer hasn't really worked in the way we were told it would and a friendly Charity Shield type game between winners of SL and NRL is no compensation for the lack of proper tours.
