lol Matto, the two departments most removed from reality that are also underperforming in their industry funny that .. Thank you for your comment Matto you put a smile on my head today..
I had two brothers go into the army and this video sounds like a holiday camp with hugs and cuddles from when they did it in the eighties one did ten years and the other is still in nearly forty years very proud 👍🇦🇺
Deano that’s my name too.. I wonder if your brothers know me I joined in 91 got out in 2015.. Say gday to your brothers in this month of ANZAC you have every right to be proud of them it’s such a cool career pocked with frustrations but also awesomeness.. What CORP’s did your brothers serve in cobber?
I sent that video to my kapooka Platoon SGT from 1980 and he said "If we trained the troops today the way we did you blokes we would all be in jail"...they were hard but fair and I have tracked down all but one of my Platoon staff to thank them because I wouldnt be who I am today without them...Great men
Sorry for your loss mate. Id love to hear about all the support. Recon , DFSW , Mortars, pioneers , what's new about them all - new wpn systems ect apart from drones . That would be interesting . For the new upcoming infantry
G-Day Cas, sad I miss the call. Mate your were on fire, I've laughed my arse off, sorry for the pun, maybe not, your scathing informed opinion of the first add was golden. Good to see you back on the mend. Cheers for the video.👍👍👍👍
Johnny, mate That add was pretty low hanging fruit and begging to be drenched in Holy water plenty more to come mate and the video I am hoping to get out today is very disturbing but it’s not an Australian video reaction I look forward to your comment mate and your sense of humour.. I’m writing this from the throne with my first daily offering if you know what I mean..
They need to put back the standards, swimming, chin ups everything. They might be shit but they count if you’re pulling your dying mate up through water to save them. And I didn’t know we would have to do the water ditch training, and how long after kapooka would we do this? Thanks mate 👍
HUET is done once you get to your unit mate.. Your right we need a reformation of the ADF strip it back let go of the useless CORP’s replace them with civilians so position numbers in the military are more gunfighter than pen pusher and raise a light infantry Regiment and get dangerous again
I love your old school political incorrectness Caz, good to see there are a few of us left. Just returned from the Chic course at Kapooka, can’t really say I enjoyed it, but it was a good experience. My experience certainly bore no resemblance to the video. I’m surprised none of the TV channels have done a doco on Kapooka
Hey Rob, mate would love to have a few chats with you if you ever considered Patreon for one on one phone swapping of ideas, your observations and or Johnny on the spot thought process on the ground.. I may be going to approach Army Namely Kapooka and School of Infantry to offer my services to make a few videos that track a platoon in training etc What CORP’s you going for mate?
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 hi mate, going Artillery (way too old for Infantry!) If you want feedback on the new Choc course, happy to help, just touch base 👍
Hey cas I recently had my mother pass away and it has given me this perspective shift to do something with my life as this isn’t a dress rehearsal, I was the first responder to her passing and the way I handeled that moment makes me believe I would be a good fit for the Australian infantry, recently attended a careers day physically I’m well there but schooling could catch up to me as I believe I don’t have a pass in year 10 math and English. Is there a pathway for me to enter the Australian infantry?
I don’t know your age, I’m in the same boat as you with no year 10 qualifications. But I have completed certificates II, III, IV and diploma and that has given me the required qualifications to be able to apply, that could be another avenue to look at if you don’t already have these after leaving school, it could be something to look at.
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 it's something different, being in a support element like I am it's good to go do stuff with the guys I'll be attached to as an FO.
This is old recruitment video, dcpu has been phased out and it's all amcu. I was part of the first to be issued the new dress this was in 2020. I did the reserves course only 5 weeks.
Uniform makes no difference mate and sorry it’s DPCU the age of the add doesn’t take away the relevance and or message.. Kapooka has now been shortened and has no real gates of competence that means the graduates can’t be trusted until they get to the Regular Units and meet the operational standard required to exist in a professional unit and sadly if they don’t their day to day will be a painful and miserable experience until they get up to the standard their section commander and platoon commander require..
Sorry mate I can’t support the AIPD program I’d much rather see you enlist for the general enlistment program .. Is there a reason you’re using that program over just turning up for general enlistment.. No one deserves special treatment .. I do wish you luck and happiness in your career..
Heh Kaz I joined the army in nov 1990. Left in 1999, I’ve got a lot to add and dialogue with you to tell the truth about joining, it’s was hard as fuxk back then. And it should be. But now it’s soft as a limp nob, having said that I don’t wanna put off young people joining , but it has to be hard. Like we had it back in the 80s and 90, heaven forbid the 50s , 60s and 70s
Hey Bruno, mate sadly you left just as the army got exciting and started travelling everywhere who were you with mate….? You would recognise the military these days mate a lot of the drinking culture is gone and politics have definitely entered the building but I think the lads are pretty much the same and they still seem to love it and what it gives them..
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 mate I joined on 13 nov 1990. I wanted to join as an infrantry soldier with 3Rar, before some quamby tripped me over in kapooka and strained my ankle, limpnob rap sgt with a fat gut said son, nah your not suited for infantry cause you’ve got flat feet,, yeh right. You believe all the bs these medics tell ya. So I said I wanted to be in an arms corps. Like a tanky, he said nah mate your too tall at 6ft1 at the time and you have to wait long time for your iet, anyway. I joined arty and went to 16ad which was disappointing. Old equipment, no other units transfer to as a “bird gunner”. Got sick of the I guess that’s the only place I’m gonna live and die with and i changed over to intel corp and became a linguist. Much more to follow dude over, i ended up in dsd Canberra at the time as a strategic analyst linguist
Let’s talk caz. We can give the young ones that truly want to join. The truth and I respect everyone that want to join the Australian defence force , ps there should be compulsory 18 months service in Australia like like many European countries to set our lost young Aussie kids some sense of nationality. Ps god bless all the young people watching your channel that truly want to join. They will not regret it. And they will find life after the military if they truly choose to do so. How can i talk to you off channel. So maybe you can bring some of those thoughts to the young players. Your doing a good job mate
Pt must be over the chit has ran out and your back! You know im joking brother, glad your ok, the boy wonder has turned for home at Singo, loving it even more learning stuff that in my day was reserved for the Social Forces, coz they are special. Pull away MFS picket is coming,
Christ Cas, every time you go down it is worse than the last time. in my frank opinion matey You arent gonna last many more of these. That's just a matter of fact. Next time you go down Ask/demand to be immediately put on corticosteroids : that may there be the difference to save you for another 3 times. But, if you really want to guarantee living longer into the future, you have to address the core issue. if your guts are hell-bent on killing you, I know it's ugly but consider getting a colostomy bag. Also I trust your Dr is aware of other possible treatments like Imuran etc. cos WITHOUT starting some form of ongoing preventative treatment well☹unfortunately things will only get worse! Love you brother!👍
Emerly, check out the BFA scores rather than the PFA scores.. When do you go to Kapooka? Emerly if you identify your fitness is at a low standard that also gives you anxiety leading up to Kapooka weaponise your fears and start training push ups, planking and running.. I want you to get to st least 20 push ups, run 2.4 and 5km without walking then do that twice a week to beat your previous times and go from there.. Also can you swim 50 m without stopping? Tread water for 2-10 min ? Patreon is there if you need it mate I am here to help, guide and make you better than you are while enjoying the ride..
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 I'll keep this as short as I can since it's not on Patreon yet which I'll get on as I get closer to the date. Aiming for Kapooka in December/January in university holidays, after the reserves OSB and all the hurdles are done, so I have a lot of time until then. In a couple weeks I've gone from 4 pushups to 15 and have had a similar jump with the situps, but it's just the long distance running and beep test that I think I'll struggle with (I am also good at swimming and treading water for some unknown reason, so that should be okay). My leg muscles don't hurt, it's just the cardio/oxygen (VO2) that stops me. I am just concerned that even if by the end of the year I can make it over the line of the 7.5 beep test and pass the PFA, I'm not sure if that's a ticket to a decent shot at success in Kapooka or if Kapooka is a big step up from the PFA. I can take any mental challenge they throw at me, psychologically or academically, and have the full intention of getting up to BFA standards and beyond next year, but currently from where I am now that's a big jump. I'm taking advantage of my fears and training strongly but the PFA is my current realistic target. I just don't know if that's even close to good enough or not. Who knows, I might smash it easily, it's a while away. Thanks for the help always cas!
@@emelyarye2641 Hey how are you going. The BFA is a lower standard than the PFA, you need to pass the PFA to get into Kapooka, then in the first week you will do that again to make sure you haven't dropped between the first PFA and enlistment. In Kapooka they will build you up to the level they need you. In about week 8 you will do a BFA. Cas has some good info in a couple of his videos for you. Don't get worked up too much just chip away at your goals.
6-12 months is what we were advised to tell people when I worked at DFR. Realistically, it can be longer if you get knocked back for anything unfortunately.
Without any issues on my part, purely DFR failing to do their job it took me just over 2 years. For infantry too, so in theory that should have been very fast. That being said, some blokes have to wait even longer, particularly for low-supply roles. Just start as soon as you possibly can and don't get attached to anything they tell you because they _will_ take longer than they promise.
@@alihasanaxe4936 You would think that if it is a priority fill role it should be a quick process. But as they use external contracts to do the medicals this is where the lag is.
Dude jump on Patreon ASAP. and let me guide you friend I will be a valuable tool for your mind and your preparation .. You have a real ride ahead and I’m proud of you man..
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 hey mate how do I get in contact with you through patreon, what membership do I need to be able to message you? Most of them are sold out. Thanks mate
I hope you don’t mate that would be a mistake sadly.. Australia is a fantastic army being held together by Aussie legends in spite of the politics being injected by the HR and some senior leaders.. Unless you’ve been a soldier you also can’t have an opinion about it being weak as the Arms CORP’s units are still very Legit as are our Special Forces units..
i have a family full of vets in fact all the men in my family served from ww1 to ww2 and the Vietnam war. i just don't think the Australian army is for me. as i grew up around family who talked about the war and when hearing about what the soldiers of today use like the fight light approach its weak to me i understand why Thay do it. I may be wrong but 15 push ups to get into the Australian army is a bit weak not to say the solider them Selfs are weak just the administration side of what is expected of one. i ruck 90kg full of kit and I'm not in the army and i only weigh like 65kg, i just do this as I'm going to Ukraine and when i talked to people in my family that served in Vietnam that's what there carry weight was about. I'm a deminer so I can't say much yes your right.
@@BudgetGainsByJJ i have just completed the rest of my studies on combustible chemistry (energetics) I was going to go in the feb of this year, but I wanted to get that out of the way and now I'm looking at dec of this year or January of next year as i need to apply at AB3.ARMY been a long road. more knowledge is going to able me to acquire the work position that I would like over there. but as the army likes to put it 1st riflemen then 2 deminer but I would prefer to clear landmines as I know that will help Ukraine in the long run over time for the soldiers and the public. but thank you for asking I will try to update u in the future on how things go but I'm unable to help you or others get in as there are laws in Australia that will get me into trouble if i try and help recruit or teach or tell people about it. the act that I'm talking about is called the incursions act 5.5
