I personally think that we in Australia compare quite favourably with the UK as far as heavy haulage trucks are concerned, FYI the KWs, MACKS, & Western Stars can pull those big loads all day long as well. Some Australian companies also use MBs Dafs Scania & Volvo’s that do a terrific job also. The distance’s that our heavy haulers have to move these massively heavy loads is, a lot further than the loads shifted in the UK. So I think that we have very similar transport requirements, the only difference is the width of your roads and our distances.

I’d totally agree your moves are far far longer and I’d say probably over more unfavourable ground in parts

@@MegaJohnhammond Yes, it does make it smaller. The tires are off (The tires extend beyond the rim) and the height is much lower. In addition, the truck can travel a lot faster.

Again utter rubbish, biggest load ever was in USA, there is a film, and the largest indivisible load, the largest load in uk was part of the gas platform in Irish Sea, over 400 imperial tons and was run by one scammell m not at speed, the two don’t mix

And over in the UK a power station transformer weighing an earth-shattering 640 tonnes claimed the title for being Britain's heaviest load. After being removed from Didcot power station in 2013 it was loaded on to a truck and slowly hauled along at speeds of 4mph, which caused a 13-mile tailback on the motorway.
