There is plenty of good news, with the border opening for visitor visas and positive reforms.
Today’s video covers all the latest immigration updates in Australia until 11/02/2022
There are severe labor shortages in many industries, especially critical ones such as agriculture, medical and health, hospitality, and other professional occupations.
Australia is also trying to open and recover from Covid-19 disruption, proving difficulty with Omicron hanging around. To all visa holders, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that Australia will fully open its border on 21 February 2022.
This means tourist visa holders subclass 600 will be able to enter with the condition that you must be double vaccinated.
December and January see strong demand for temporary migrant visas, especially international students and working holiday makers, to fill the labor shortage caused by the pandemic.
Australia Government has made a lot of positive changes to welcome a range of visa holders to support our economic recovery, such as:
- Student visa 500
- Graduate visa 485
- Skilled visa 190/491/ 489
And other changes in the level of state and territory for general skilled migration for offshore applicants.

I’m from the U.K. and I’m a diesel mechanic and I’ve been waiting for 2 years and 1 month. Not going to lie and I probably speak for everyone that has waited this long but pretty pissed off with stupid lies of time frames on the home affair website, they don’t keep people updated on what the hell is going on! They invite more people to get more money it’s sick, People have spent thousands, sold properties etc and still nothing. Oh yes I forgot about Covid blah blah blah, this day and age we have to just live with it and get on with it. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Sorry if I don’t sugar coat it for you but can you see why we are all hashed off. Also the money we have spent for visas is this refundable as I’m coming this close to wishing I never wanted to choose your country and would rather be using my skills elsewhere. Or will there actually be a grant at the end of this fiasco ?

@@CreatureCribs HI Albeez, we understand your feeling. More than anything, your time, your asset are precious. We also think that they should push the process of inviting skilled visa migrants to boost the economy and we believe they are doing that. We could see someone starting to get their 491 granted, not many but at least a few of them have it which sparks a light of hope for all of us. As a law firm, we cannot guarantee you anything related to the work from DHA. The minister has made positive comments about welcoming students and working holidaymakers back, they are slowly taking step by step to bring skilled migrants back. Hi Chris, thanks for the video. Would you be able to advise if any of the recent 485 PSW extension for masters by coursework applies to existing visa holders? When applied, there was an option for a second PSW but the regulations was changed mid application. Just wondering if regulatory changes does affect existing visa holders as it did during application period.

Hi Michael, as mentioned in the video, the changes will only affect those who have their visa assessed and granted after December 2021. This means for those who have their visa granted before the date, can only apply for a second 485 visa Hope this helps Chris

Hi Shree, Thanks for your question. No update for offshore 489, but the Department should be processing soon, given the skills shortages. If your occupation is on the PMSOL or related to a critical sector, then you should send an update to GSM processing. gsm.allocated@homeaffairs.gov.au Make sure your medicals and police clearances are up to date. Agriculture visa is set up to attract Southeast Asian Agricultural workers to come to Australia and fill the labour shortages caused by covid-19 disruption. You could ask your Australian Employer to contact their electorate Federal MP to put pressure for more details. HI Kritika Saini, "On 18 February 2022, certain eligible Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders will have their visas extended or enlivened to 30 September 2022. Visa holders eligible for an extension will be notified directly by the Department." DHA immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/news-media/archive/article?itemId=812 I believe if you are eligible for it, you should get a notice from DHA of your 485 visa to be enlivened. Hope this helps Chris

HI M A, thanks for asking. There is no exact timeframe for student visa at the moment, but please stay tuned since the department knows the commencement date of each applicant. From our experience, a student visa will normally be granted before the commencement date. However, there are some exceptions. you may need to prepare for that by asking your college if you can study online if you are not bale to travel yet. Hope this helps Thanks for watching Chris

Thanks for being honest about the 143 parent visa. My parents applied in June 2016, and online it says applications have been stuck at May 2016 for over a year. God knows when or even if their applications will ever be processed. Tbh its not worth it they have a good life back home. Nobody should apply for this visa, its a complete scam
