My question is when I applied a student visa I didnt attach proof of employment as my parents are sponsoring me for student visa so only their docs were submitted in immi and I was approved. Thanks for this wonderful video, I have a question where I am based in Indonesia and my new employer have offered me 482 visa. Should I ask him for 186 now or its better first to be in Australia and then ask for 186 and if its the later case , do I need to work with my current employer for minimum 3 years to apply for 186 visa or it can be right after 482 visa is offered ? thanks in advance Reply
Thanks for watching Tarun, You would be in a better position to ask for a 186 for PR once you are in Australia working on a 482. The ability to progress to PR depends on if you have a short term (usually no PR path) or medium term (PR path) occupation. With the medicum term occupations, if you have a postive skills assessment you can do a Direct Entry 186, straight to PR. Otherwise, there is the Temporary Transition 186, requiring three years with the same employer. If you would like detailed advice, then an appointment with me or one of our expereince team of Lawyers and RMAs may help. All the best. Chris

Please note the employer is willing to sponsor him. Please reply and thar would be really helpful. Best Regards

Hi, recently got 482 visa medium term offshore approved, as it states within 90 days the job shall be started there in Australia, but i have been working with the same company for last 4 years and currently working from offshore, so just want to clarify, is it still required for me to go Australia within 90 days to meet the criteria? Thanks and appreciated your help!
Hi P Agrawal, thanks for leaving your question here. However, you have started to work for the company, but it is required to come to Australia in the first 90 days unless you can provide a good reason to stay offshore temporarily. HOpe this helps Chris
Hi @P Agarwal, Congrats on getting the visa approved. Just curious to know when did you lodge your visa application. So I can get an estimate how long it is taking for people to get the 482 visa approved. Thanks
Yes, there is a Free Trade Agreement between Australia and US. However, it does not affect 482 visa or any other visa. We may need to wait for the Australia Federal Election result, as it could have some impacts on some visa like Agriculture Visa. Hope this helps Kenny
