The new Subclass 192 visa will begin sometime this year but no specific start date just yet. Designed as a lottery visa for certain lucky Pacific Islanders, it seems not as straightforward as first made out.
The Engineers shortages in Australia have not been addressed by this government and they seem yet to have a plan in place.
Was the government's action to cancel thousands of engineering graduate 476 visas not only unjust but short-sighted?

@@ailsaustralia We can't let that happen. They can't do this silently. They must have to inform before capping and setting quota. Additionally, how they can implement new policies to the applicants already in queue. We will do what is best in our power for the justice.

We understand the migration reforms and needs but it's injustice not to consider the pending applications. Pending applications must be considered.

The other worst condition is for onshore graduate engineers , having jobs in their area of assessment for years , and still on 485 visa as no 189 is calling engineers for PR application and our state is offering invitations to offshore than onshore . There was the Visa Subclass 476, primarily designed for skilled engineers to address shortages. Unfortunately, the Albanese Government abruptly capped and terminated this visa. Many of us invested significant time and money, missing valuable opportunities. Some underwent medical examinations three or even four times, only to be informed later that the visa application fee would be refunded for pending applicants.

I am an applicant of March, 2022 and had been waiting for grant for 1 year and 9 months but sudden news of visa capping and closing has really disheartened me. During the whole application process, after 1 year and 6 months I received s56 that raised my hopes a lot. But due to immigration department's mismanagement I received a 2nd s56 again but I responded in time to that as well. After 1 month my application was opened by my case officer as my "last update date" on application had changed. If he/she had opened my application why wasn't any decision taken right away. To conclude I blame the Home Affairs department for breaking my dreams. I have replied to Clare O'Neil's twitter posts to ask for the reason why my dreams were crushed but it seems no one cares.

Hi Karl Thank you so much for your helpful content! I need help from you. I submitted my EOI for NSW 190 with 85 points in which I claimed all my employment history however ACS result has deducted 2 years of experience. (I cannot also change the EOI now, removing work exp will reduce 5 points) Now I don’t understand whether I should proceed with the invite or not as there is 300 dollar fees too?

In India Australia free trade agreement the FTA doesn’t state any age or occupation requirement for post study work visa including 18month psw issued for vet courses. It later mention stem/ICT courses will have additional duration upon few requirements after hons degree. So as far as Indian students getting 3yrs psw after masters and if 35age barrier doesn’t apply when rule changes. Then age/occupation in MLTSoL requirement must not now for psw. What is your comment on it?

Hi Karl, question why is the immigration biased toward some countries. Ive seen multiple 309 visa applications from Pakistan still in progress and the processing time are from 2-3 years whereas a European or a western application gets granted fairly quickly

So why, is parent visas waiting period 30 years? Seriously? How are those visas put at low priority over others??? Children need their parents. Families need to be together. What happened to the core family principles that Australia was built on?
