Our love of travelling allows us to also pursue one of our hobbies - photography and in particular wildlife photography. Each trip we look forward to seeing birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, spiders, amphibians, sea life and wildflowers and always hoping to see a new species we haven't captured on film or photo yet.
For those interested in wildlife, Insects and Spiders can be a little more harder to photography. When you are walking/camping somewhere there can be insect/spider life happening around your feet, so next time you're outside - look down - you may be surprised by what you see.
Reports indicate there are over 200,000 species of Insects and over 5,500 sepcies of Spiders in Australia. Although it can be hard to get that perfect photograph we will always continue to try. The photos here represent some of our better attempts.
They are the Juvenile mopsus mormon spider (aka Green jumping spider), Female wolf spider carrying her young on her back, Gum emporer moth caterpillar, Red shield bug, Yellow sand scorpian, Jewel Beetle, Common bluetail damselfly, Bullant, Green tiger beetle, Male scarlet percher dragonfly, Spur throated locust and the Christmas spider.
We hope you enjoy these and thanks for watching.
