Thanks a lot! The better test uses an Autel accessory (MaxiBAS BT506) to test the state of health and charge of a car battery. I have had the chance to use OEM authorization, but I have a feeling its to do with FCA cars. I'll find revert once I find out more.

They do keep up with updates. Quite regular.

Hey. You bought it used? You have to get the Autel ID and password from the former owner. If not you can't even get a subscription to download data. I haven't tried using someone else's backup and so can't advise.

The tool can be used without updates generally. However, you won't be able to run some tasks for above 2017 FCA cars. Very important if you don't plan on renewing your subscription is to learn how to backup the tool. I also have a video on that. It can save you if your tool becomes corrupt.

I don't know if it's possible to change an Autel ID, you'd need to write Autel support.

It is. Sadly. But they make good tools. With more competition, they'd be forced to review their subscription pricing.
