Hello!
You can find the names of all creators in this video on this TikTok playlist:
www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8ehXskb/
(note: some may have been taken down and are no longer available, so I unfortunately cannot provide these creator names. I apologize for any inconvenience)
I see everyone is enjoying these compilations, so I decided to get together another short one! I'll try to push out at least one a week maybe, and see if I can get a few more noise videos up!
I am autistic and I thought of this channel now back almost 6 months ago! Thanks to everyone who has subscribed and supported the channel. I created this channel to help other people with autism who benefit similarly to me from pink noise.
I love TikTok and think it's an awesome resource as a learning tool about autism, as well as feeling community and laughter in the autism world. I think generations to come will talk about how evolutionary our global learning has been since the evolution of tiktok into modern use in media. Its exciting and I know at least for me, I've learned and healed so much.
I hope you enjoy and tag your favorite or most relatable moments in the comments! can't wait to hear from you!

i never realized that sounding "bitchy" was an autism symptom, i've been fired twice from retail because customers didn't like how i talked to them, my last manager said that something about me "just doesn't sit well with people over a certain age", and i got written up at my last job bc people said i yelled at them for not being on duty even though i never raised my voice and i ????????? add it to the list i guess

My last manager had me written up and put a Do Not Rehire in my file because I was trying to help her. When I described our interactions to other coworkers they said it sounded like the manager was intimidated by me!??? By me? I'm not scary at all. I went out of my way to be helpful and cooperate. Found work to do if it was slow that helped everyone. Nobody asked for my side of the story so this Write up, only had her opinion on it. One of the things she wrote was that I'm not allowed to TOUCH people. Ummm, I never go around touching people. What does that even mean?? But part of the job description was we HAD TO greet customers and shake their hands. The custom of shaking hands is to establish trust. I tried not to shake hands with the next customer, but it felt so awkward and weird. So I continued to shake hands after that. At the end of the season she went over my goals. She had previously set my goal to increase revenue by 20% over the prior year. Only SHE didn't think my prior year's revenue was enough. So she made up a fake number and added 20% to that fake number. Then during the season she barely scheduled me to work any hours. I told her I seemed to be working half the hours as the previous year and would she adjust my goal accordingly? She said no. On the last day she told me she didn't think I met the goal. Later the official numbers came in online. I could calculate my actual revenue. And see hours worked for both years. So I calculated using actual numbers, what my revenue generated per HOUR worked was. It's the ONLY way to compare apples to apples. I had increased revenue over the previous year by not the 20% requested, but by 84% !! Apparently that's such a massive failure that I shouldn't be rehired. Could I take them to court? Maybe. But the bigger question is do I even want to work for a company that allows one person to complain about me, never actually talks to me, or has the 2 of us sit down with a 3rd person to sort things out?

My mother worked with me on tone, inflection, enunciation, politeness, etc. when speaking. Taught me how to properly answer the phone. (She was a British long distance operator.) Worked with me on posture, walking, etc. (I've got lots of physical issues, too.) I was pretty good at 'Monkey See, Monkey Do'; which is pretty much what masking is. Masking becomes more ingrained over time. But I can't hide my poor penmanship and less than stellar coordination. (aka, I'm like a bull in a china shop. I'm either going to hurt myself or break something on a daily basis. I just expect it now, and I have to just laugh at it. What else are you going to do?) I got written up at work on my annual review once for my poor penmanship when signing my name. I should have just started signing paperwork with an X. (I've got lots of other issues. It is what it is.)

I love all of the black autistic people talking about their experiences!! I'm black and *probably* autistic, and it's funny because when I think of it I'm not really masked with my family. I'm probably like 50 percent masked with family because all of the traits that are *probably* autism, they just attribute to my personality or me being funny (which I'm rarely actually trying to be funny but I'll take it). But other things like sensory issues, I hide because I learned to from a young age. I think for black people who are autistic, there is a high chance that their family members who might likely have autism weren't able to be diagnosed at all because they had to "mask" their blackness (code switch and such) and deal with racism in the mental health industry (aka mostly having research for white boys with autism). Like my mom, dad, grandparents, for example, wouldn't have any time or space to determine if they were assimilating into whiteness to survive, let alone if they had autism. My grandma was diagnosed with depression, but I live with her now and wonder if something else is actually the root of her depressive symptoms, but the psychiatrists never considered it because of who she was. So, I wonder if they were able to get tested today, how many family members would have adhd or autism or both. Anyways that's my little rant I guess.

Part of me realizing I might be autistic was looking at the symptoms and seeing my mother and sisters and a nephew as having traits. And my children too. Finally one sister confirmed that everyone I suspected was autistic . BUT she doesn't think I am, and asked "Why would you want to be called that?". Like it's a bad thing. OMG because it explains EVERYTHING!! And she hasn't lived with me since I was 16 so how would she know? Plus I'm the only family member with epilepsy which can be comorbid with autism.

Love this. Really felt the one at 36:05, especially with the feeling of saying something nuanced...then allistics interpreting it as an extreme--then saying that YOU have black-and-white thinking...even though they got rid of the nuance and not you. Or the idea that you can state an objective fact and not agree with it or like it. Like, I don't like it but it's true--and somehow that makes you the bad guy?? Idk, just really felt it.

Ooh. That one reminded me about how I tried to explain to my NT dad one time that I feel bad for the people who *_just_* have an attraction to children (as in have never acted on it) because they can't help that their brains are deviant. This turned into a whole discussion about how I wish nothing but the worst for people that hurt children, but I'm not ready to imprison those that haven't.

Oh my goodness 8:27 is so relatable. I struggle with conversation and don't know how to carry it without relating to someone by using a lot of 'me's, 'I's, etc. and talking about myself. I'm constantly trying to find a balance with people I'm not close to about how much I make it 'about me' without meaning to. Even just writing a comment like this makes me think about it 'cause I'm making it about my experience! I know I'm not self-centered but it can be a struggle to not come across as such, I just have a lot of empathy.

What I try for a while now: ive read that people enjoy conversations most wehn they have a slightly larger speakingtime (like 60:40, but ofcause depends on the person) so i try to relate with a story of my own, that is shorter than theires (which is easy for me) and then encourage them to speak again by asking a related question. And then max two questions in a row before telling an owne anekdote again. Ive been told more questions feel like being interviewt and not like a conversation. Had to train that for a while XD

I was one of the unlucky few to have been diagnosed with bipolar without any further testing. The didn’t officially start to diagnose me with autism until I was eleven , but they diagnosed me with bipolar disorder at nine. Edit: even then psychologists were flippant and dismissive of me until I was 14 and we had to fight tooth and nail to have it be officially diagnosed. They were so willing to ignore the symptoms of what I actually had because of the stigma of girls and afab people not even being considered to have the potential to be autistic, that they diagnosed me with not one but two incorrect disorders ( Bipolar and ADHD) both of which extremely stunted my progress in understanding myself and how to adapt properly. Being misdiagnosed was so damaging socially and emotionally and never had I felt more like I had been the problem than that time. I hope with this recent boom of people speaking out on their experiences and advocating for better treatment that it will become a thing of the past!

I studied psychology in college. One issue with it is that it uses words, not numbers, to describe things, unlike other sciences. In medicine, we can measure exactly how a drug affects us. In psychology, we can't be that precise. We can't use brain scans to fully understand personalities yet. So, we use words and models. My issue is that we label certain behaviors as 'disorders' when we aren’t sure what 'normal' really is. Also, some early influences in psychology had prejudiced views, which affects how we see things today. Terms like 'neurotypical' and 'neurodivergent' imply we know what's 'normal,' but do we really?

It is really irritating that you don't leave the credits or names of people's on their videos. I want to be able to find and follow some of them to help with my journey but I can't. Second... you're stealing content without crediting them. Not cool man.

This explains a lot . My daughter had said she thought I might be autistic. I relate to it all ….. I never understood why I was the way I am … So people will either say I’m super friendly and outgoing and like amazing person or they just don’t understand me which makes me not understand myself……

0:36 Oh, god, that’s me. I tend to copy people’s accents (mostly because I don’t want to sound weird to anyone). Unfortunately, it has gotten me in pickles at school. Is that a tism thing?? (Also: could you add subtitles? It doesn’t have to be all typed out, autogenerated subtitles work fine, but for some reason I don’t seem to digest the words as well without subtitles. It’s fine if you don’t want to though!)

I think bipolar is an adaptation to the inability to regulate and process emotions, as is literally the issue that ADHD and ASD people face, but because these "disorders" need to be diagnosed to confirm the mood dysregulation as a result of neurodivergence. ASD and ADHD are vastly misunderstood because they are being studied from the outside and when people are actually neurodivergent, they are gaslight as unreliable resources for information regarding the neurodivegence that they live with. It's mind numbing to try to explain an internal experience of thought or emotional development to someone who literally cannot mentally have the same experience. I have internalized my entire mind to prevent myself from hurting other people with toxic behavior, words or interaction, yet people with ASD "lack empathy" 😂

When is it appropriate to talk about yourself? Apparently, only when you’re neurotypical. When you are autistic, people get upset about it and then interrupt you, give you a dirty look for no reason and talk about themselves more.

I’m really interested in the experiences of autistic AFAB people and how that might relate to racist and sexist stereotypes. I feel like there is a stereotype of black women to be ‘aggressive’ and I wonder if this can lead to people dismissing a potentially autistic woman’s difficulty regulating her emotions because they think that she’s ‘supposed’ to be like that because of her race. I’m AFAB of European decent so I’ve personally never experienced that sort of prejudice but something about that double whammy of ablism and racism is infuriating.

TW: trauma? Sensory overload- not having help for it Did any other undiagnosed autistic person as a child (keep in mind I might also be misophonic aswell as autistic and I also have ADHD so this could be a very specific experience not many people have) when they were having a sensory overload in class they got really angry because they weren’t getting the help they’d needed for their sensory overload and people saw this as ‘having trouble regulating anger’ so people tried to give you advice on anger regulation and how to regulate your emotions in general, and so you thought for your whole childhood you were just a bad kid because you just thought you got mad at ‘small things’?

@7:47 if you wont smile then you seem pretty rude/mean faced and etc. Thats why we mask sometimes. Because we all choose to show common curtasy not because we use it to fake it. ❤️ Its sad theres people outherejust being ugly on purpose. ❤️ Because if we aren't kind then its the same as if we are just being rude on purpose if we know how to smile and could get it in a moment in general. If not then its nothing on you. No need to take offense if your just doing what you actually can do or accidents happened.
