How do you rotate when it asks you to mark the edge flows? For some reason if I have the square, circle, rectangle, curves, or any of these brushes selected in any room, I cannot rotate camera. I can rotate camera when painting brush is selected.
Hi, quick question... What version of 3d Coat is used in this video? I ask because I'm using version 4, and my autotypo window looks quite different than the one you opened (around the 4 minute mark). Thanks
Hi! I'm a new enter on Blender world. Seeing this tutorial one I expected to find the add-on and download it from a link. Sorry, do you have a link about retopology add-on, might you tell me it.
This isn't a Blender add-on. It's a stand-alone application. Blender does have an Applink to 3D Coat built in. Visit the 3D Coat forum under the Applinks > Blender Applink for more info on how to use it 3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6706
+Frank Lopez : You can download it from the mainpage, and try it free for 30days. To access the Auto-Retopo toolset, in the Sculpt Workspace, RMB + click the Voxtree layer you want to retopologize, > choose Auto Retopo. 3dcoat.com/home/
+3D Coat thanks, one last thing, where did you you get this model from ? this was not a scan correct? looks pretty good, i see things like this and i just want to shell it printed and fitted with electronics and motors which is what im doing with myself "3D scan of my body" for a humanoid model
What do you mean you "pressed ENTER"...? You RMB + click on the layer you want to Auto-Retopologize > choose Auto-Retopo > get a dialog (at the top click the button to read the Autopo Guide, because some wrong steps can cause it to not work correctly) > set the number of polys you estimate needing (good to aim a bit higher than you might otherwise) > click "OK" > click NEXT (paint areas for extra density) > click NEXT if/after you apply stroke guides. 3D Coat calculates and creates the mesh. When you create strokes, you never lose them unless you click the CLEAR button while in STROKES mode. If you don't like the result, you can delete the mesh layer it created and repeat the process again, with some adjustments. Once you get to the Stroke Guide phase, you will see the strokes guides you created previously. RU-vid is a really poor platform to diagnose an problem, so we highly suggest raising it on the forums where you have a lot of helpful, friendly users who are glad to help. If they cannot help you, then by all means, contact support at 3D Coat.
+3D Coat When I click "NEXT" after painting strokes, it seems to be generating a mesh for a few minutes and then nothing has changed. It's still the hipoly model with my marked areas for density and my strokes are still there, but there's no lowpoly mesh.
It's difficult to diagnose problems on RU-vid, because there is no way to share screen grabs or screen recordings like you can on the 3D Coat forum. So, please visit the forum for further assistance. In the mean time, try to increase the estimated poly count. If you shoot too low, it may not have a sufficient number of polygons to generate the mesh. Always lean more toward the high side of your estimation, and remember, if you are trying to create a very low poly game model, Auto-Retopo may not be the best approach, because it attempts to provide an even distribution of polygons. That's not usually the approach one takes when creating a game model. You try to be more judicious with your polygon distribution, to prevent unnecessarily high poly counts.
