Terrific and eloquent speech - It's a shame she's not party leader. Maybe it's because she's not interested in serving fish 'n chips or smelling coffee?

Dear Layla, Today’s lesson is about stuff that happened in the UK whilst you were busy becoming a citizen of the world. In 2004 Tony Blair lied about the benefits of mass immigration and had those who disagreed with him called racists. In 2007/8 he was proved wrong by top economist Adair Turner and the House of Lords Select Committee for Economic Affairs who said that mass immigration was not in the interests of the majority of the existing population since it not make them better off and fills up their space which was already at a premium. Labour backed down and restricted itself to making claims about the number of Olympic Medals won by those with immigrant roots (even then they lied) but the Tories stayed silent (immigrants = cheap labour) whilst the LibDems continued to claim that immigration was good - full stop. In the meantime nothing happened with the Tories hiding behind EU free movement policy as an excuse for doing nothing. So a narrow majority voted for Brexit to remove that excuse and then voted for Boris to get the job done with Jo Swinson disappearing down a black hole vainly proclaiming ‘immigration is good’. If you want those who voted for Brexit to listen to you you’ll have to listen to them first and then tell them how you’re going to bring net immigration down to zero. You can’t get rid of a problem by ignoring it which is what you’re doing here. If you try you’ll end up like Jo.

A critic of what someone _might_ do is no criticism at all. Critise actual policies. In a rational world ALL things need to be looked at. Dont let your ideology restrict your vision. If there are ways to better spend the foreign aid budget to improve the lives of people around the world, why shouldn't this be looked at?
