I just LOVE how the comic goes a little more in depth about the war propaganda. Obviously the fire nation believes what they are doing is just and righteous. They are taught in school that dancing and expression of freedom is wrong, they are drilled almost like in a military school and the history books ( "history is written by the victor" ) only tell the side of the fire nation. Even Zuko (and this nameless soldier) believe(d) for a long time that the war was justified because they're sharing their countries greatness with the rest of the world. It took Zuko traveling through the Earth Kingdom and meet the people that live their to realize that the war was wrong. I just love how they showcased the propaganda even though I wish they could have shown more of it (in general).

I just have to say I loved the way Katara was written in this arc. She’s a favorite of mine, but she tends to get overlooked because everyone else gets to be more zany than her. Katara’s often serious and the adult-but not by choice. She had to grow up fast bc of war , and I love the way the show always found ways to bring out the teenager side of her. And it sucks that yall always look at her as bossy, serious, « motherly » moment whereas there is plenty moment where she’s actually acting like the teenager that she is but this part are always weirdly ignored like idk. She’s underrated bc people Thinks that she’s boring and its sucks hard

Am I the only one who realizes Aang’s shirt collar should be yellow instead of orange. Someone really goofed huh? Lol And the back of Katara’s hair...isn’t the bun part supposed to be her actual hair? Idk why it’s colored blue like it’s some kind of hair decoration-and omg the color of her wrist wrappings changed from white to blue what the heck- Oh god this is gonna bother me isn’t it? :,,)

To be fair, it goes far beyond just a little poster. We saw in the fire nation school in episode 2 of book 3 that they all are taught that Sozin took down the Airnomad *army* . We saw it when Zuko confronted his father in the Day of the Black Sun and we saw it here too with that soldier: They believe they are sharing their countries greatness with the rest of the world. Truth is, the propaganda is something they grow up with. The posters are just there to reinforce the ideas. They are so brainwashed that they don't consider an alternative to be true. I'm actually really glad they dived into that war propaganda aspect in this short adventure. Because we often forget or don't realize we still are in a world torn apart by war. We know that that's the case but because it's a kids show we don't actually see the full extend of the war. One of the many reasons I love this show so much though.
