Had some more copystuff troubles, this is starting to get ridiculous. Sorry again for all the filters. I know these are supposed to be serious scenes but there isn't much I can do in terms of maintaining tone. ;_;
Fun fact: each season finales color pallet matches the element of that season. Example, in season 1 finale the primary color palette is blue. In season 2 the primary color palette is green and in the final season primary color palette is red.
Fun fact: according to the creators, the Southern Water Tribe was originally founded by members of the Northern Tribe who had become disillusioned with their archaic customs. I'm not sure if that'd was the case from the start, or something they thought of later, but it's interesting, since it makes Kanna an example of how history tends to repeat itself.
AHHH i love this two parter so much ALSO 10:32 “remembers they’re still antagonists” this is why they’re such good characters because despite everything you still want to root for them
1:57 - There are at least three reasons, why North Water Tribe is different from the South One: 1. North Pole is established as an Capital of Water Tribe. 2.If you look at the ATLA's world map, you notice that North Tribe is behind the Earth Kingdom's territory. While South Pole is behind islands, that used to belong to Air Nomads. 3. Everything Changed When The Fire Nation Attacked...
Every episode that passes is an episode closer to meet THAT character from Book 2, if you know the one you know the one, literally one of the greatest characters ever created, can't wait to see the reaction to em, they make the show so much better that Book 1 is honestly hard to rewatch for me simply because they're not there.
The whole "he knows" segment was great 😆 Ohh, the next part will be WILD. I cannot wait for the reaction already!! EDIT: 4:33 Oh my god, not the "no way," girl 😭
I actually like that the water tribe has a flawed culture that puts woman down unlike the fire nation where female soldiers and leaders seems to be a common thing Shows that just because it's not the fire nation doesn't mean they're angels who can't do no wrong
Fun fact: If you do slow it down during the moment Zuko gets “engulfed” in flames from the ship’s explosion. You can see Zuko quickly reacting by bending a sort of flame bubble around himself or attempting to bend the flames around him before he gets engulfed in the explosion.
loved this video, honestly the editing to get around copyright issues was hilarious. jerma and sans really added a lot to the serious scenes of this episode (also your reactions and commentary are gold as always)
You doing that thing with your arms at the beginning 😂 Sokka and Katara are the ultimate sibling dynamic 😂 I love them so much Sokka is truly my favorite character in the show. This episode is a good set up for the season finale yet it has a lot to unpack on its own, I'm glad you're almost there! Keep up the awesome work dude! 😎💙
This waterbending vs waterbending fight is still so cool and one of my favorite fights in the series. Fun fact, Zuko saves himself by making a shield of fire right before the explosion hits. You can see it for a split second. Though it must not have been 100% effective given his injuries, unless that was from beating up whomever Zuko took that armor from. Also…it was never clear to me but was Zhao cool with the pirates killing Iroh too? It’s not like we saw the pirates wait for him to leave, it seems like it could have been a coincidence.
The other water tribe is weaker because the fire nation numbered them and Katara is the only bender who remained there, but you probably realized that by now 😅
1:59 the fire nation raids really hurt the southern tribe’s chances of developing and it didn’t help when northern tribe completely ignored their request for backup. Which is one of the reasons why the south looks shitty compared to the north.
i loved the part when zuko was almost blown up by the pirates and then dewey duck came in and said "lets dewey this" and started dancing and the pirates died
For your question on why the southern tribe is like 15 people(spoilers so ignore if you don't spoiled info) Before the 100 year war, there was only the Northern Water Tribe. People who didn't like the rules of the North Tribe fled and made the southern Tribe 100 year war begins and the fire nation attacks the southern water tribe because it's smaller than the Northern one and they "removed" the water benders and made the tribe defenseless Again, sorry for spoiling
You're editing and meme meme-ing is so gooooood!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Definitely not a skill issue! That's why everyone loves you!!! 💝💖💝💖 Also, the Fire Nation did get greedy and decided to eat all the cakes everywhere. Blue Boy being a lad has The Blue Order feeling GLAAD! GLAAD ULTRA EVEN! For all the happy! 😊
i’m dead lol you DID NOT need to put on that much effort into blocking the video-- so many memes, so much jerma P.S. don’t know if you care, but could just be easier to put a transparent image over the show, when its the show and your face on the screen
I’m so hyped to see your reaction for the season finale!! And I can’t even begin to imagine your reaction to some of the real shit that goes down later in the series😂 Also found the contrast very funny of rooting for zuko and them like “oh yea he’s trying to kill aang” lolol
Hey blue, already watched this but just wanted to say thanks for making these, just finished watching the whole Avatar series and absolutely loved it, would have probably never watched it if not for these, can't remember if youve mentioned if you finished watching it yourself yet so no spoilers but thank you very much
You know, this show knows how to do these empowering women episodes. Disappointing thing is, cultures today have customs like that of the Northern Tribe. So this episode does a good job of making people think about that.
honestly i never liked the resolution to pakku's sexism (or whatever the heck his name is). buhuuuu he misses the woman he wanted to exploit in marriage so he will make an exception for her granddaughter what a reformed man he is now
i love your facial expressions!!!! i love to watch your video bc it feels like siting down and watching a show with a friend :) i know thats p parasoical of me but still! love ur vids!
"why the fck was the south one so shit then what happended?" hmmm lets see i think i have a qoute here for that...: "The four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked." or something like that.... fast forward with about a 100 years of war
0:35 so uhhh.... looking at you made me remember I used to be flexible and do this. ... I uh... just tried and almost got stuck... What happened to me. o __o
Spoilers for The Legend of Korra, but it is explained why the Southern and Northern Water tribes are so different in the show. If I recall correctly, it was because during the war the North abandoned the South and left them to fend for their own essentially. That's why the Northern Water Tribe is so rich and structurally sound and the Southern Water Tribe was only a few people struggling to get by
I think that during times of actual prolonged warring, segregating the sexes statistically makes sense. As it stands , men are the expendable sex. One man can replenish the next generation, one woman has to wait nine months for one child. The population, and by extension the military force of a warring community, cannot afford to send women in the battlefield. The next generation must be protected. This is not to say that women can't become great warriors as well, but when sh*t hits the fan, the women's rights movement will have to wait. Survival is on the line, this isn’t the time for “I can do what the men do, too.” When people are swarming each other, statistics become a major predictor of the victor…and we’ve already seen the military performance of males vs females.
TLDR; I actually think Pakku is cool and Katara is a douche in this part of the story, if you want to get the context prepare yourself to read this bible ww. Ok, i'm gonna be honest here because i really think that the opinions on Master Pakku differ from where you live, so i live in a very traditional country, but also there's kind of a new wave going on, the thing is, Pakku is a douche but i think Katara is worse here. Katara goes to a place where the culture is totally different, disrespect it in a fundamental level, and hope it goes her way just because she is determined, because actually take a closer look, no one is sad or is suffering the effects of the divide between waterbender and waterhealing aside from Katara, yeah the arranged marriage is bull and that i agree that is really wrong and should be changed, but Katara is the only one that's upset with the waterbending training, and is being disrespectful with the best waterbending master at the time just because she thinks she's right. I can actually feel empathy with Pakku because he got jaded that the person he loved the most left him, BUT he tried to move on anyway. Anyway i kinda always liked Pakku and because everyone that i had talked about and speaks english thinks he's a bad character i wanted to type this. (Also i'm really sorry that my comment got this long, and my english isn't very good so be aware of spelling mistakes.)
Culture is fine and all, but problems arise when those customs end up impeding on basic human rights. That's not culture. That's oppression, and wack 🤷
