There's another video of the Marko/Tarja duet from a different angle that's much closer to the stage, and Marko has the most fascinating look on his face during Tarja's portion. Like, he looks genuinely entranced and emotional, as if he's shocked to be there hearing her sing again. Lowkey, now that Marko's left Nightwish, I hope he and Tarja do something official together. Saw Marko singing in Raskasta Joulua show a Month ago, he seemed very happy to be on stage again.

It was so wonderful to see Tarja and Marco mending their relationship. Watching them singing together on Raskasta Joulua tour stage, it was so obvious how they were pulled together like magnetism. And then after the concert this happened! In an interview she told how Marco came to see her before the concert, and how everything bad past just disappeared the moment they saw eachothers. Her and Tuomas though, I don't think they are in a happy place yet. Those people closest to you, their betrayal causes the deepest wounds. Seen "Fellowship of the Ring? It's like that enchanted poisoneous dagger striking Frodo that Tuomas struck in her heart, when he tried to destroy Tarja's future life and demonized her image. That wound is {{{ DEEP }}}. Like shards of the enchanted dagger is still there. And that dagger was enchanted by crushing his heart and dropping the blood on the blade. It would be the best thing, for them both, if they could mend it, if it is possible. I'm sure it eats them.

Ave Maria can be sung like Floor did at Heavy Christmas shows, i wish she would have gone for a more soft version from her home studio, a little like Jarkko did. Marco and Tarjas first singing together after 2005...that was history made, and so beautiful.

They do so beautiful concert version and performances of this song and also this RJ tour. Somehow I get moved when I see the end scene when light fades out over Marco and Tarja hugging each other. I heard from somewhere that when they first met after a long period of time for this concert tour Marco went to her hotel and she opened door....a moment of silence and then they hugged for a long time with tears in eyes. I hope they can be friends again.

I'm always deeply affected by Floor's multi-talented Voice. She encapsulates so much emotion in a song with her Interpretive abilities. And her Powerful Technique--head & chest voice, brightness of tone and Vibrato is "music" to my ears.

But before that they hadn't sang for a very long time with each other. Then they say that how wonderful feeling has been there on the show then and that they want to give them just something warm to close things for the night. Then Marco asks the audience to put their phone's flashlights on. At the end they are thanking the audience and wishing to everyone to have a good Christmas.

There are also versions of Marko and floor together. Yes the mix in floor's video is not doing it any favours. Flour's version is usually Italian parts sang in a classical operatic style with English parts sang in a slightly poppy ish style.

Great idea to listen different versions of this demanding song. F.ex. Jarkko can sing effortlessly almost anything from heavy to opera, but he has admitted that Ave Maria is difficult song to interpret, because you shouldn't overdo it.

Its feels so good that Tuomas Holopainen and Tarja Turunen and Emppu Vuorinen and Sami Vanska and Jukka Nevalainen and Marko Hietala are happy together as the Nightwish band!! I also like that Floor Jansen is a backup singer and Kai Hahto is a backup drummer and Troy is a backup guitarist and can help with flutes too!!

For a more traditional approach, do the Floor and Marco from Rakasta Joulua. There are two, one where Floor is in a white dress and one where she is in a black dress. Both are fantastic, but I prefer Marco’s part a bit better in the earlier one where Floor is in black. Floor is amazing in both. Enjoy 🤘🤘

HARDLY SEE ON RU-vid. MARCO IS SINGING SOLO WITH NIGHTWISH. My suggestion is a cover of them, which we hardly see on RU-vid. And if you like a heavy Nightwish sound, this will be a very nice one. For me, the version of Floor Jansen is the best, I liked how she sang this song in a varied, graceful and gentle manner.

Hannes (van Dahl) who does Floor's home recordings is a good drummer but a horrible mixer. 😉
