Even tho My war was 29 Years ago... My Son, who just returned from Syria and Iraq showed me this song (with the Lyrics).. Neither of us could hold back the tears. Whoever wrote this song had a strong grasp on what a Soldier feels like coming home from war. Thanks for your reactions.
Avenged sevenfold write 100% of their songs. But I think mainly m shadows wrote the lyrics. They do a lot for the soldiers of the United States military.
Thank both of you for your service. My Grandfather was a Marine. I’ve always felt very close to the military bc of him and my grandmother working in the war plants. Stay safe, be blessed.
Hello from an iranian girl :) i just wanted to say that i realy loved you guys . this made me realy emosinal so i wanted to share my story here too . i lost my father in iraq and iran war . he was poisoned by chemical weapons. he was sick for almost 10 years and at the end he passed away in hospital when i was 3 years old .if there were no picture's of him i couldn't reconize his face . i couldn't point at him and be like hey that's my dad ! all i knew As my father's name was my mom crying late at night calling his name ... after he passed away my mom slowly went depressd . it was like if someone just riped the life out of her . she was like a walking dead.. she slowly got sick ... almost faced the death . doctors said she can't make it but she decided to fight and live for her kids sake . she lasted for 20 more years ... she fought untill her last breath to raise her childs and protect them . now she is buried on top of my fathers grave . you know as a person who is watching this whole war thing going on in my life , the more i hear , the more i feel like that what ever reasons they feed us to fight is just bullshit . nothing worths a war . NOTHING . god doesn't worth it, money doesn't worth it, power , honor ,... what ever the hell you call it . it doesn't worth a single human life . i watched how my mom slowly melted like a candle in the flames of war ... and that's the toughest thing i ever did . i don't want it for anyone else in this world . no one deserve this . no one . hope things get better between two countries . just felt like i need to let my words out . lot's of love from iran
it's so hard to pick a favorite, seriously the most stoked i've been in awhile was last time i saw them and the encore song was planets, omg i was so happy lol , still get chills
Oscar Fernandez hell yes dude awesome comment! I feel exactly the same! And probably should do more korn, System of a Down and for gods sake lamb of godb
City of Evil is one of the the best albums ever made. Even A7X themselves haven’t been able to duplicate it. They are a great band but this album was/is still there best.
well i mean they dont want to duplicate it, they want each album to be different from the past and have a different meaning so personally i find it hard to compare any of their albums, but it is an absolute master piece and a true piece of art
Being someone who deployed to Iraq in 2007 and 2010, I didn't realize how I changed until I almost ended my life in 2016. My wife would tell me how I changed and didn't listen. After getting help I realized what I was going through and still do. All the images and feelings affect me everyday. I have a great support system. God bless America and my fellow brothers and sisters in the service. This song brought back some painful memories but it's ok. Made me feel better but very emotional 😢.
Respect to you brother and ur wife(family) As u can tell by my name...we both proudly served our country in time of war. Great band who are highly patriotic. I loved them before I entered into AD Army and I have tons of respect 4 them.
you live with the honor preserving the memory of your fallen brothers, you have purpose and people who love an care for you, good to know you made it home safe and made it through hell and back to be there for those waiting for you and those who went through that with you to get you back. stay strong!
M.I.A. has always been a good song for me, I enlisted about a little over a year ago in the Marines and this song really shows my response on killing someone, the Marines really likes to brainwash us to that testosterone building mentality, and I've even been criticized for feeling I'd only do it if it were necessary
except Gunslinger has a but more positive theme where a soldier returns home and in Danger Line the soldier dies and im M.I.A. its more about how war has an impact on soldiers and everyone involved very negatively
cammed goat I always took strength of the word as a kind of old western themed song. With like some guy who has “outlaws” after him. I don’t know why but the term outlaws automatically makes me thing of like the “ye olde shoppe” and saloon days, like old cowboy gold rush times.
The perfect song. Perfect in every way. Vocally, drums, geetar, all the geetars, bass. Vocal harmony. Guitar harmony. What else do you want? A wicked guitar solo? Synyster takes care of that. This song is just amazing. Enough said.
Synyster Gates (the guitarist). There are not enough good things I can say about this man. every single guitar solo he writes is... perfect. it's like the song tells you a story. But then you get to the guitar solo, and he's so good with that instrument that he tells you a whole new story. His guitar parts are an emotional roller coaster. there are faster players. there are more experienced players. but NOBODY can structure a song like this guy. It's absolutely unreal...
The moment I saw you guys getting emotional I got emotional too.. lost some friends during the operation in Gaza strip in 2014. This song was written 15 years ago, still makes me cry ever since. Good job on the reaction
@@UltraViolent21 meh it's definitely their hit or miss album considering the type of reception Ive seen from the community but it does contain a lot of the bands classic songs
I never thought about this song - SUCH deep and sad lyrics ... Many thoughts about it. Especially when I have all these terrible and tragic things in my own country (I am from Ukraine). Thank you so much, Vin & Sori - I agree with every word you said about it. Great channel by great people! Peace for all of us.
A7x was signed thru hopeless records and they claim each reaction video and video that tries to make money, they get taken down most times. I'd love to see more reactions from their first two albums but it's almost impossible
This was a masterpiece. Avenged Sevenfold puts so much emotion, strength and creativity in the songs they create unlike most other bands. You can listen to their podcasts on how they created certain songs and the background of them. Every time they create, there’s always strong meaning to it
Amazing reaction!!! I love your reaction, please react to Victim is a great song to the Rev, good as so far away, please !!! VICTIM VICTIM VICTIM VICTIM sorry but i really want lmao
Finally A7X has returned to the channel! Happy birthday to the guy that requested this! If you guys liked this one you should check out their other pro military songs, Danger Line and Gunslinger. But overall you guys definitely need to get Nightmare and Strength of the World out of the way as two of the top avenged songs you haven't done yet
Our actions in Somalia was because we (the West) don't understand Africa. When the Soviets caused a war between two advised countries (Ethopia and Somalia) the Somalians lost. This left 7 warlords in charge of 7 different tribes in the area. That was 1984. The famine that caused Ethopia to starve also caused same also effected Somalia. When the UN decided we needed to feed the Somalian's we picked 2 warlords. This caused the others to attack the UN forces and steal the food. This may seem like they were just being bandits, but one tribe being fed and another not will result in genocide. So, when we attempted to force convoys, it escalated. The result is what you know as Blackhawk down. I got to spend 6 months over there following it.
That tear running down Sori´s cheek during that acoustic outro was so perfect. This is not my first watch but first time I realized just how beautiful that little moment was at that time. Her facial expressions and emotions perfectly matched the progression of the song, every impactful line, the solo, certain imagerys, specific guitar noget/parts, his change of cadance etc and that tear summed it all up. It´s a very beautiful reaction from Sori ❤
i just watched 20 minutes of video and i already hit the sub button. perfect analysis, humanly reaction and you get the song that what it means. i'll watch others videos of yours. thanks for perform, thanks for your efforts. this channel is the most realistic reaction channel. ty guys
Speaking of Army vs Marines. I was Army, 2 deployments. Convoy security"gunner" and on the road at least 5days a week. Never shot anybody and couldn't be happier. Was ready to so myself and my friends could go back home
One of their best songs the guitar layering is absolutley unbelievable and one of M.Shadow's best vocal performances Holy Moutains by System Of A Down would be amazing
26:40 hits really close. I feel the same way. With this song I connect with it on an almost spiritual level. I do feel like a part of me is missing. It also makes me think of our PTSD problem. I’ve lost a few friends this past year that have been serving with me.
Exist is their "best song" lots of people love it. I do too, amazing song. But M.I.A and strength of the world from this album are in my opinion their best songs
@@braedonmorrissey7548 I'd say Beast and the Harlot, Strength of the World and The Wicked End, but honestly all of City of Evil is a modern twin-lead-guitar masterpiece. I think Exist is their objectively "best" song, even if it's not my favorite. My favorite isn't even on CoE or The Stage, it's a tie between Chapter Four and Eternal Rest.
@@xerodelacroix5552 oh yeah for sure like I said "best song" 😂 and the only reason I dont like beast and the harlot is the nightmares from guitar hero as a kid😂that song was awful to play. And I love their 2nd album waking the fallen that album as a whole is my favourite I think but I like strength of the world as much or even more
"People who never fought are so eager to engage in violence" Well like a line said in one of the tracks in Linkin Park's 2007 album, "When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die"
Or in War Pigs "Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor" or Disturbed's Vengeful One criticizing the media's role in propagandizing it "The rabid media plays their roles Stoking the flames of war to no surprise Only too eager to sell their souls For the apocalypse must be televised"
I really wanted you to listen to a beautiful and emotional song in the live version as a last tribute to the greatest Power Metal singer in Brazil, I'm sure you'll love it. Shaman - Fairy Tale
The angled foregrip reduced recoil in exception for control. Invented in 1954, of course, the angled foregrip has been a successor to the previous model once known as the barret angle holder.
Great reaction video! I could see ur emotions from the song. 1 of my favorite bands top 3 easily! I'm an 11Bravo vet n they r singing "mostly" 2 and for 11Bravos-Infantry. What an honor to me they r my musical heros and I'm their HeRo. A7x !
Havent really been here since the beginning but around 75k subs, enjoy the songs you react to and your conversations as well as views on songs. It's a great new look at songs I've known a while
I worked with a Vietnam vet for four years and on occasion he'd open up from time to time and he mentioned how he never felt the same since being over there. He said it wasn't right what they did and it's like a hole is formed that he can never fill back up no matter what, after killing another human being. My Cousin is dealing with similar stuff like anxiety and PTSD from Afghanistan/Middle East. He hasn't really opened up to me about it and I dont know what I'd say when people like that decide to open up to me about that but I dont mind if they feel like it could help just by having someone listen to them. It's odd to say the least to have Ben Shapiro say we needed to send a message but also say video games are immoral. I'm not defending video games violence but I dont agree that we should say killing is supposed to be a part of our American nature/culture.
When you actually listen to the lyrics and almost see other people's reactions to the song itself, it's kinda different because the song itself can send shivers down your spine with the story it's telling That's just happened here with me
My grandfather was a partisan in command of a small group, and when they learned that a Russian friend of theirs had been deported to Germany as a prisoner, they didn't think twice and left here, in Northern Italy, to go and rescue him. It took them a week to reach it, they did it all on foot crossing the Alps, the woods and all the worst roads to avoid fascist or Nazi patrols. They were alone in enemy territory, and I have no idea how they did it but they managed to free their friend who fortunately had not yet been sent to any concentration camp. My grandfather died 14 years ago, but when I was little he always told me this story and he will always remain a hero to me. I still have the pocket watch that his Russian friend gave him, and when I asked him what the Cyrillic writing on it meant he replied "I wish I knew too, but I don't speak Russian." Every time I listen to this song I think back to everything that has gone through and I am moved
Excellent song. One of the best on City of Evil! I'd be curious to hear a reaction to The Wicked End from the same album - my personal favourite song by them!
On the subject of Birthdays I turn 22 on the 31st of July, I’m only just growing up and beginning to come to terms with the world around me and learning how to live properly. So on the subject could I request Dream Theater Learning To Live for my birthday? I would also like to thank you both for all of your videos and insight, Avenged Sevenfold are my favourite band and you helped me see this particular song from a different and certainly interesting perspective. Keep up the good work beautiful people 😊
You guys are one of my favorite reaction channels. Also I've never seen youtubers sing a birthday song to a specific subscriber. Thats awesome. But I'd love to see y'all react to some more Punk rock. I'd recommend The Distillers.
I don't know how you guys do that but you are the only reaction channel that makes me watch whole 50 mins to hear your thoughts. Your comments are making songs deeper and deeper for me. Thanks for not having a shallow approach to repeat what song says only. I also wanna deeply thank you for being able to criticize your country so well. That takes some self confidence as I agree with everything you say.
I love it. watching people listen to a song without having an analysis of what they think it means is fuckin dumb. You just see there stupid face half bored most of the time OR They pause it every 30 seconds to talk. Annoying shit. Vin and Sori doin it right
Probably a little late to the party. Sitting here day before Veterans Day remembering how many damn times I listed to this song in 2007 on my first deployment. I was 19 and green and so full of anger. Lost my brothers my grandfather and had to do certain things to make it home alive. Some of them I’ve never ever spoke of. Glad I came across this. Still hits hard and music is what kept me alive through all of it.
I love that video. Thank you so much. By the way, Avenged Sevenfold is my favorite band, and MIA was the first song I heard from them, I'm a drummer and I admired their drummer a lot for his style and he was somehow an influence on me. around 2008. I was a fan of the band ever since. Jimmy Sullivan, their drummer dies in 2009. It was a great loss. I adopted a dog and named him Jimmy. Now he is very sick. And here I am with a problem called agoraphobia and social phobia, alone by choice far from the city in a country that is not mine. I connect with this video, for that thank you. I don't know why I write this here but well... forgive me.
My favorite thing about A7X is that their influence from Japanese metal and video game music is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO evident and amazingly executed. Sounds fucking amazing.
As a man who has struggled with personal demons myself and done things I wished I could have taken back and done differently as a man who hasn't severed I completely understand where you're coming from Vin and you'll never understand that how much I appreciate you're understanding but truthfulness to these subjects. I only hope that God my forgive me for all the Evil I've done and that one day I might find salvation.
Ty bday boy! I've been waiting for a reaction to this song for so long! This is one of my favorite songs in general, let alone out of a7x's selections. Next one I'm going to wait for now is: I won't see you tonight- a7x
Please please please do gunslinger and danger line next. My older brother was in the armed forces and at the time I was 14/15 so I never truly understood what it can do to people, until I watched him come back year on year and slowly change from the happy person he used to be.
Very good commentary on this war theme song. I personally love the song because it means something but you manage to view it in military point of you as you have background in military. Other RU-vidrs they're just talking shit about "we should be proud of our soldiers" all those bs but don't really understand the complexity of the song. I come from military family too heard all the stories of killing and all. It was scary but my family did it for our country. It's good thing to point out of people who proud to say "I'm soldier" or " i just signed for army", which is like saying "i signed a job to kill people". Few of my uncles were proud to say that and like me, i was proud to say I have military family although it's nothing to be proud of. I mean like, what does it says about me? Killing is running in my blood or what? Another thing about war with America, let me rephrase for you, it's the America actively seeking war with others, not the other way around. I agree what you said about the Afghan and Iraqis. Most of them are poor. What can they do to America, honestly? Good commentary which can open people's eyes about reality.
