Waiting on my Bullpup right now I can’t wait. I currently own the rifle and Steve has got me so informed with his videos I feel like I’ve learned 10 yes worth of knowledge when I really just got into this a month ago. I’m loving everything you all have to offer and appreciate your time it has really been a lot easier with you all. Thanks again

He’ll yea it was defiantly worth the wait…. I will say that the only 2 things that are going to take getting used to (and one of them is a big bummer) is the trigger is much different then the rifle, not as crisp. The other is the height of the rail with a scope. You have to play around with the shoulder that moves and the cheek piece. Also I recommend that you get a “higher” scope mount. Even though you can adjust the height of the cheek piece as well not just in and out but you can make it higher and lower, but even all the way down my scope was still out of position. Everyone’s different though so to each is own just giving you a heads up.

I haven't heard anyone ask questions on Barrel Bands, which is interesting because it's the second highest thing owners talk about that needs to be bought to control POI shifts in transporting or even day to day. Not saying it's needed, just saying it's heavily discussed with newbies being told it's needed.

I’m in process on installing Bottles on my 4 Avengers, the synthetic is finished. CF Tubes and Spacers inside the shroud. Shrinkwrap the Shroud. 3D Printed Barrel to Bottle band. A Sabertac Bottle Picatinny rail. I’m in middle of the Wood stock. Then I have come up with a mod to add external Bottle to both my Bullpups.

I feel compelled to comment here. I received my 1st .22 cal AVA about a month ago. It was shooting fine, or so I thought. A couple of weeks ago I got a chronometer and attempted to tune it. Much to my surprise it would NOT tune for love nor money. No matter where I set the regulator OR the hammer spring my feet per second readings never changed. So - what was it? The regulator or the hammer spring or both? I received a replacement two days ago. OUT OF THE BOX the regulator was set to 3000psi with ZERO turns on the hammer spring. This was unacceptable to me. So, I began attempting an economy tune with no luck what-so-ever. I was only getting about 60 shots from it at about 850fps. I finally gave up and set the regulator to 1850 psi with approximately 1.5 turns in on the hammer spring. The chrono read 920fps. At that point I decided to STOP jacking with it and called it a day after weeks of pulling my hair out. I've come to the conclusion, as you mentioned in your video. no two guns are alike. However - I guess we get what we pay for. I've come to the conclusion that the regulator and gauges are the cheapest quality. If I can get decent groupings and shot counts at the current settings, I'm calling it good. Any 'constructive' feedback is welcomed.
@AEAC
@AEAC Год назад
For me, tuning is all about finding those harmonious balance points between reg pressure and hammer spring tension, at the velocity you want. It's pretty much as simple as that. To begin, I like to pick a reg pressure and leave it there while I work the hammer spring in small turns from bottom to top, recording velocity AND consistency as I go. Then, I repeat the exercise with a different reg pressure. The game is to find a combo... at the speed your gun wants... with that ammo. Steve

I must have got lucky with my Bull Pup .25cal its accurate 25, 50, 100 so far its been very cold weather up here(Old Town, ID. 50 miles from Canada) so I cant really stay out shooting with these 61yo gypo miners hands they start aching. So when the temp gets over 65° and up should be soon I got the compressor rigged to work off the tail gate now got the knothole shooting bench I'll go out and hopefully have the camera(s) set up and a chonograph and really zero it in. We got a guy making slugs here he is on ebay and a web site I got 31gr 37gn Terminator slugs and I got a cpl others up too 57gr bost tailed slugs and alot pellets FX 34gr were the ones Utah Airguns sighted it with the others are a mix I bought on line and bought from the Idaho Airguners the guy who make the Terminator slugs. So I am thinking after hitting good groups at 100 in the freezing hards weather not as good as Steve's lol but not to bad less then 2 inches I'm going to reach out 200 maybe 300 I'll let ya know how it goes. The Air Venturi Bull Pup is my first PCP air rifle but from all I have see and shot with other guys much more expensive I feel fortunate to get a great starter gun. I'm thinking of going to a big bore (.35cal to .50cal) Tyler any up n coming from Air Venturi or ??? In the next 1 to 2 years?

@AEAC

This can happen if the air cylinder pressure gets too low, so low that it can't apply sufficient pressure on the valve to keep it closed. The solution is to cock the gun (leave it cocked) and then try refilling. Then, decock the gun once you've finished refilling. Steve

I really enjoyed this, thank you for all the great information. I really liked the discussion about hammer spring tension vs regulator pressure and finding that perfect balance. Do you have any recommendations for a velocity percent below max hammer spring tension for a given regulator pressure that is a good starting range to be in? I have noticed that 10% below max tension before velocity falls off, I get a major fps spike towards the end of the shot string which impacts 100 yard accuracy but yet the gun seems more efficient since the valve closes so quickly after the hammer strike. 1-2% uses lots of air per shot and seems to destabilize the pellet at longer ranges but yet the shot string seems flat and consistent all the way through. 3-5% seems reasonable but I was curious what your thoughts were through all of the different guns you see/tune. What do the professional shooters prefer? I just thought putting some real numbers or percents to the discussion would be beneficial as well; at least to get in the ballpark. Thanks!
@aeacvlog2033
@aeacvlog2033 2 года назад
I could be misunderstanding the question but I normally experience velocity reduction when increasing HS tension as soon as it surpasses a reg setting that it liked... even if that HS setting is far from its potential maximum. Steve
@garrettlutzow1732
@garrettlutzow1732 2 года назад
It’s more likely that I wasn’t clear on my question lol and maybe I am going about tuning a pcp backwards but I’ll try to explain it in a different way. Let’s say I am trying to achieve a given velocity; say 870 fps because that’s where I see good accuracy out to 50 yards, but I would like to see a more flat/smooth shot string at the same time so I can reach out further without large velocity fluctuations becoming an issue. First, I’ll take my best guess at what the regulator pressure needs to be. Let’s say I try 1800 psi. From there I’ll increase HS tension slowly until I see the velocity peak and then eventually decrease. Let’s say the peak is 900 fps. That 900fps will be my reference point for that particular regulator setting. I’ll back off on the HS until the shot string is consistent all the way through close to or even past the regulator set point. Let’s say that I get lucky and I see perfection around 870fps or 3% below the peak. My question is, based on your experience, what % below the peak on any given reg pressure do you like to see your tunes for best results? Or maybe I need yo try a different method.
@aeacvlog2033
@aeacvlog2033 2 года назад
@@garrettlutzow1732 I've never thought of it in those terms. If my optimized HS setting won't graph flat with my target velocity, I'll always need to change the reg pressure and try again. The reg is the master flow control meter for the air. The HS is just there to make the valve get along with your chosen reg pressure. Steve
