Aventon Pace 500 Step-Through 

I just got mine. It took about 5-6 days for delivery. Condition was mint as was the color. But Aventon calls it celeste. Not having ridden for 35 years or so, I was a little fearful of falling over. I found a mild slope and tippy toed down it a few times and followed with some coasting with feet up. All good so I started pedaling and then went to pedal assist 1. That seems a little fast to me, but I didn't fall over. I'm 5' 1" with very short legs and limited flexibility, but with the seat all the way down, I can comfortably get both feet on the ground. And I think tilting the seat down a hair will help too. This of course is on the s/m size bike with step through frame. I got exactly what I wanted and am thrilled with it. It will take a while to get comfortable with it before I take it on the street. Aventon did a great job on this bike and I recommend it for short/older folks. P.S. I forgot how uncomfortable bike seats are. Hopefully I will get used to it.

I've ridden many E Bikes and the Aventon bike seat give me no problems. Looking at buying the M/L Level for long rides. Bike camping/Touring. My local shop said they don't have any and Aventon is sold out. Waiting till next month. Thank you for review. Ride on.

What level of assist and what gear were you using when you got it up to 27 mph on that flat gravel path? How often do you change gears and/or pedal assist and/or the throttle?

I’m deciding between this bike and the Level because of the front suspension available on the Level. But the integrated battery, lights, and app connection to phone are all plus features I can’t overlook. What’s the dealbreaker to persuade me from one or the other?

You mention you were using the M/L frame which Aventon's website recommends for 5'11" riders and up, and you said you are 5'7". Was it a bit big for you, or do you think Aventon's recommendation here is a bit off? I'm asking because I was going to buy this for my wife who is 5'9" to get her back out on the bike trails with me, and I'm 6'2", so I'd really like to get the larger frame so I can sometimes use it myself. Did any females shorter than 5'10" ride this larger frame during your eval?

Did you record your video with drone? Or was camera guy following you next to your bike?
